Had Brighton away, Fulham away at 12pm and QPR away on a Wednesday night already. Only decent away day so far is huddersfield.

No it wasn't daft lad, it was the second game of the season (you know, the week after we'd been thumped 4-1 at home by recently promoted MK Dons) but any chance to try and belittle us (even making your own mileage tables up to try and put us bottom but still not quite.

Other than Forest, which was admittedly poor at 1,500 (you say opening day, I say many people still on holiday), given Derby's pricing, the chance to see a top team, local-ish and if our form picks up don't be surprised to see over 2,000 there no problem.

So far, our away games have been Forest (1,500 poor), QPR (800 good), Charlton (500 poor), Brighton (just under 200 quality on a Tues night) and Birmingham (800 poor).

Hardly games to whet the appetite for us Forest aside. Still got Wednesday, Hull, Derby, Huddersfield, Leeds etc to play.

Yet more insults from you.... The mileage figures were on another forum but the factoring is correct, it also downgrades our support so I'm hardly picking on Rotherham am I, sorry Forest was your opening away game, so normally a pretty well attended game but you called your 1550 odd poor.

You took 160 odd to Brighton, not 200.

The mileage numbers came from here http://www.football-league.co.uk/ne...l-league-match-day-travel-league-2593014.aspx

As Herts said surprised about the low amount of away fans at Molineux. I know the view in the Steve Bull lower is shite but would have expected it to be around a 1000 average. Only thing I can think of is it's because we haven't played a well supported team at home yet (no disrespect to the teams we have played) and all of the shit Sky kick off times we've had.

I'd say the Sky games had an affect, both Hull and Huddersfield would have taken 1k at 3pm Saturday imho, QPR on the Tuesday was a decent effort 750 ish. As an aside what's the max allocation at yours, just realised we play you last game of the season.

One of the reasons why I don't normally go to Wolves and the fact that it is very hard to generate a decent atmosphere. I can't blame your club for sticking away fans there as it helps to keep the away support qiuet. I prefered the old days stoof behind the goal on the terrace watching Rob Hindmarch battling with George Berry.
This was in reply to Herts and haven't got a clue why the quote hasn't worked.

North end's followings have been pretty steady, no completely horrendous trips yet but no North West ones either, languishing in the bottom three isn't helpful for boosting numbers either.

You could get 2,750 in the Steve Bull lower. If you wanted more we'd give you the corner in the upper tier of the Stan Cullis stand, which is probably another 2,000.

Depending on the importance of the game I think we'd manage 4.5k.

Surprised to see us so high to be honest with you. Though, I think they are slightly warped by Fulham and Charlton both being over 3k. This time last year, we were in the routine of losing every single away game.

It's funny, but you hear "there's a shit atmosphere" almost as much as you hear "there's a great atmosphere" in the Steve Bull Lower.

We used to get relocated from the South Bank flank a lot into that part of that stand (before the new North Bank when the away support was paltry). The view's OK (there are better but it's still decent enough). We always thought the atmosphere was good in the SB Lower, but maybe that's because of the presence of 2,500 of the South Bank.
The atmosphere is what you - away fans - make it. I've heard deafening noise coming off that stand from away fans....Man City, Rotherham two seasons ago, Birmingham City, Leeds.

I don't really believe that many people make an awayday decision based on the atmosphere. If so, no-one at all would travel to see their team play Reading, MK Dons, Newcastle (at least at Molineux, you're not 13 floors up), Hull....

The new corner stand at Wolves is good, atmoshere was alright in there when I went last, despite us bottling a massive game.

I don't rate Wolves too high as a great away day but weirdly it's probably one of my most visited grounds.

First went to Molineux in 2000 for an FA Cup 3rd round replay and have been to every game we've played there since bar one, yep, the only time we've actually fucking won there in the last 25 years, bastards.

I don't mind that lower tier at Wolves, preferred it behind the net a few years ago but it's still not too bad. Good close up view in some parts, felt like I was sat on Lee Grant's knee when he threw it in our net last year.

Atmosphere has been poor the last few times we've been there as we've not achieved much. I saw quite a few Wolves games in both the home and away ends when I was at Cosford and it just depends on the away team and how they are doing from what I've seen. Pretty standard for most football grounds, it's what you make of it.

I know they'll be idiots out in force on both sides being a friday night but jeez we're going over the top with the segregation. our away end can go to 2700 altogether with the 2 corners. That's 500 seats whats gonna be netted over.

Probably waiting to see how our ticket sales were going before we gave you additional tickets, looks like the demand isn't has high this time around on our side, we sold 10 500 home tickets 3 weeks before this fixture last season, looks like all the part timers prefer to watch it on sky this time, it will be a sell out though but with more Wednesday fans this time.

Think we will move up the table a bit as the year goes on. Our away support tends to fluctuate with form but also distance, outside of Yorkshire-Midlands territory we tend to take poor numbers, in comparison to the clubs above us anyway.

Rotherham sold out, as to be expected but also sold 1300 for QPR out of 1600 not bad for a Tuesday night in London with it being almost impossible to get back via train.

Highest away followings in the FL last season. Given the proximity of those above us in comparison to the horrible journey from Bristol - MK, we haven't done badly there.

They need to get it fucking sorted and get a later train running to sheffield, they seem to run everywhere else. Have to piss about going to doncaster and get a taxi home although if it was qpr id be leaving the ground at 21.25 and i reckon you'd piss it back to st pancs in time for the 22.25.

It is frustrating that trains appear to finish so early. I wanted to go to Boro which is on a Friday night, but the last train back to London is during the game.

Leeds Update:
  • Sold out Bolton Away in 2 weeks time. Initial allocation sold last week was 3,600 believe to be upped to 4,800 which have now all gone including restricted views (are there any in that stand!) and restricted leg room too.
  • Fulham away initial allocation of 2,700 sold out last week and now have what is believed to be the circa 3,900 allocation which is still on sale. (Leeds selling tickets for beam back at ER, 1,000 in total)
(I say "believed to be" because there s a policy in Leeds ticket office not to fully keep fans informed of ticket sales or increased allocations etc)

That is totally stupid. If anything, only sell to those on your database or something like that.
