We've got Sunderland ......a month ago nobody was going ...then silence ......just watch 3000 turn up , dragging kids with them to see a 'big team ' ....... I fear we are going to let everyone down

I reckon we're gonna have a sizeable crowd there tonight especially with it being the Mackems can't see 3,000 but 1,500-2,000, they're only opening three sides, I suppose the attendance depends how arsed the Sun'lan fans are in watching their kids and a few stiffs.

We're opening the main stand for home supporters and the small family stand behind the goal for Wolves. Crewe police expecting 150-200 Wolves fans so that will probably edge the attendance over 1k.

We've got Wimbledon away. A quick browse on our forum indicates that a few of our London based fans will be going. That's a shame.

West Ham at home with only just over 100 tickets sold,i really couldn't give a toss about this as long as we don't get any more injuries i'll be happy.

I'm ashamed to say that we are likely to get 2,000 in tonight. Our fans disgust me at times.

Nathan Jones in his pre match press conference talking about giving the competition the respect it deserves! Expecting virtually an entirely different XI tonight.

We'll certainly be below 1,000 tonight. Our last home league game on a Tuesday only attracted 1,100 home fans as it was.

Looks like Norwich have pre-sold about 65 seats, so I would hope for no more than 600-700 this evening which would be a record low for us as a league club.

We play Leicester U23's at home tonight. I saw my first Grimsby Town game in 1972, been to every home game since the late 80's apart from the odd occasion that I have been in hospital or on holiday and seen Grimsby away at over 160 different grounds. If this trial is seen as a success it'll be the first step to the FA introducing B teams into the football league, whatever they say. The only way us fans can make our feelings clear is to boycott this stupid new format so that the FA understand the feelings of your lower league football fan. I understand that this may see my club lose some revenue but I feel in the long run this competition must be boycotted for the good of football.

If clubs are closing stands , and the biggest ones at that in our case , have the FA not got the message ? .....when was the last time we played a competitive match with a stand closed due to lack of interest .......?

We have always closed at least 1 stand even as the JPT. Tonight we will open only the 1 home stand unless than gets full then the 2nd (although that 1 stand will actually be 1/2 a stand!)

We are making 6 changes for Mansfield tonight as we did Derby and believe they are doing the same... what is the point in this competition really!

I'd be disappointed in any Mansfield fans going to Vale tonight.

It's a free world and all, but especially when we've had a good day at Crewe Saturday then County at home this Saturday

You'll get the 105 minus me that went to Yeovil last year. Some people will go regardless. I know of one mini bus going down to it. Hopefully it will be less than 1000 in total. I'll say 62 away fans.

After last time in this we picked a few injuries up and have not won since so I hope Murray plays a team of kids with Notts at home Saturday.

If over 100 Wolves fans (there's almost a argument for Crewe fans going) turn up then it shows just how fooking daft football fans can be. More money (and time) than sense.

Night off tonight. Result, performance etc all irrelevant in this complete farce. Even Dull Davis can have a night off regardless of Wolves' goal tally, let him enjoy dreaming of what could have been had he nailed that job interview...

We're on for a low attendance tonight. In the regional draw, we've got Middlesbrough B at home. A 7 hour round trip on a Tuesday night is going to test even the hardiest of fan.

To top that off, apparently we'd sold 159 tickets this afternoon. I accept that there'll be some who pay on the gate but surely way under 1000 in attendance tonight.

We've made 11 changes again. They didn't have the balls to fine us in the end last time which was a shame in some ways, would have been nice to highlight how ridiculous the rules are.

Six Changes and to make a farce of the ideal this tournament gives young British talent a chance...

Vale start as follows:

Santos - Portuguese
Purkiss
Smith
Mac-Intosch - Dutch
Kiko - Portuguese
Tavares - Portuguese
Amoros - French
Perreira - French
Hart
Jones
Cicilia - Dutch Antilles

So only four British players start!

Hard to say, we've got huge squad depth this year so of the changes one was playing against Porto and Benfica last year, the keeper was at Benfica, Amoros was captain of Monaco second string and we've stuck with Jones and Smith our two stand out performancers.

We haven't seen a great deal of the foreign lads playing tonight except Tavares due to injury and him not rushing to throw too many into the league XI at once.

Depends also how changes The Stags are too!

We're opening 1 stand behind the goal (for away fans) and the stand along the pitch, where the dugouts are. If we hit 500 I'll be disappointed. Our local paper has run a poll to see if the squad numbers add up to more than the attendance. Here's their first XI:

41, 64, 65, 51, 49, 52, 46, 66, 53, 24, 47.

1 down to Wolves Dicko with the goal, I can really see the benefit to young English footballers here, we've probably got a more youthful inexperienced team than them.
