Cheshire = Macclesfield and the surrounding Alderly Edge and Wilmslow basically.

Van Nistelrooy lived in Delamere Forest near Gary Barlow which is West Cheshire, Djibril Cisse lived in Frodsham, Michael Owen and Gary Speed lived near Chester. I'd even go as far to say Delamere is far nicer than the Wilmslow and Knutsford area of Cheshire. Far less snobbery too!

Suburban areas of Crewe are actually quite a desirable place to live, just the town centre is a horrific 50s construct.

The outskirts of every town are generally nice, even Scunthorpe...I imagine

There are some lovely places near Burnley, yes, really.

Ribble Valley and Pendle area are particular favourites of mine. Scunthorpe's outskirts however are still diabolical, the outskirts there are practically a steelworks if you head towards Grimsby.

Never spent much time in Lincolnshire so i'll take your word for it.

Some of the bits east of the M1, yeah. I live in the nice, rural western part of the borough:cool1:

Although I have to say, I had the pleasure of visiting the Batemoor/Jordanthorpe area of Sheffield earlier this week. It is literally the worst place I have ever had the misfortune to set foot in, genuinely never seen anything like it. There is no-where even remotely as bad anywhere in Barnsley. Why Sheffield annexed it from Derbyshire in the 30s I can only guess. Should give it back.

Us Bristolians know how good Bristol is, we don't need to drone on and on about it unlike people from say Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Bristol has some shit holes as well though, so I think we can conclude that some parts of the UK are nice but most of it isn't.

Yep thats it. Pretty close to where i live. All 3 areas on the way in from derbyshire (lowedges, batemoor and jordanthorpe) are all rough areas its a great entrance to the city.

Kent is the garden of England don't you know!
Unfortunately Medway is the compost heap at the bottom of the garden.
By the way Bristolians,.....St Pauls?

St Pauls is one of the safest areas in the city nowadays and has had a fair few quid pumped into it. That said, I wouldn't want to live there!
We've got some crappy bits but Bristol is a nice place to live apart from it's expensive and the traffic's shite.

St Pauls full of culture and vibrancy, Bristols mix makes it what it is.

The other thing people don't realise about Bristol is the sheer size of the place. While the population of the actual 'City and county of Bristol' area is around 1/2 million, there are nigh on as many people again in the urban / greater Bristol area. It makes our attendances look even worse TBH. I'm pretty sure we must be around the 1 Million mark now.

It wasn't like that then.

Loads of Bristol City fans in this thread, shock.

MK Dons are not a bigger club than us either.

Not sure I get it, seems spending one season in the Prem is worth more than finishing in the top 6 of the Championship every year.

Isn't it the average position out of the 92 over 50 years?

It's an average of finishing positions. Top of the prem is 1 and top of the champ is 21. So if you finish 3rd in the champ for 6 seasons your average would be 23. If you finished 6th in the champ for 5 seasons but finished 20th in the prem one season your average would be 25. So no, not really.
