What the fuck are Oldham, Luton and Bristol City doing above us and Preston?

Oldham have been in the top tier in the last 50 years, unlike Preston.

So Southend have averaged a lower position than us, are currently in a lower position than us, but ranked higher? Yeah, makes sense.

Even in that Sky Sports thing we're mid table in League 1.

We're more mid table than all of you!

What on earth is this? Bristol City fans claiming they're bigger than Cov and also Bradford fans claiming the same.

For starters, I can remember Bradford bringing 37 fans (yes, thirty seven) fans to HR when we were both in the Premier League. Big club, my arse. Small club having a couple of years of success. Bradford fans may respond to this 'we've sold 10,000 season tickets we're a big club' your STs are like £150 aren't they? That's like £80-100 cheaper than anyone else in this league. I can guarantee Bradford wouldn't sell more than 6,000 if they were at the average price in this division.

I think they also spent about 2 seasons in the top tier and their proudest moment is getting huliminated 5-0 in the reserve cup final.

I don't mind Bristol City tbh. A decent sized club who always bring decent follows to Cov but it's ridiculous to even claim you're bigger than Cov. Same as Bradford you've only spent a few seasons in top division and never done much of note.

My opinion is that:

1. Sheffield United
2. Cov
3. Preston
4. Bristol City
5. Bradford

From my memory of this thread I think it was one city fan claiming we are bigger than cov. Everyone else would agree that cov are bigger.

Oh ok.

By the way, do Bristol Rovers honesty think that they are a big club? I can remember on the old forum they always had a poster in the away support thread who used to slate some away support in this league and claim they would be one of the top 3 biggest in this league. I don't know though whether they are. They're just one of those clubs you never hear about.

There's one clown on here that has been slating L1 attendances, mainly ours and yours. They were a big club in the conference, and probably one of them in L2 tbh.. Being a team in Bristol probably helps with the population though. But yes, there is a lot of deluded rovers fans.

First and foremost, who has proclaimed that we're a bigger club than Coventry City?

The following at Cov came when we were in free fall, and the fans were almost boycotting games due to how shit we were. That game also came days after we'd just lost 6-1 to Leeds - that game also saw our own players fighting amongst eachother.

Ah, the cheap season ticket ramble. 'Wouldn't sell 6,000 if they were at full price'.... Do you honestly believe that?

Having only spent 12 years in the top flight, we've shared the same amount of season's in the Championship as Coventry - of which is where both clubs aspire to be. It's a funny old game, init. The cup final our proudest moment?.... when every single fan supporting BCAFC that day fully expected us to lose. The result really didn't come as a massive surprise to us...shock horror.

Truth is, we have had a lot to be proud of over recent seasons. Can any Cov supporter honestly say that? Also, dont give me any tosh about how badly treated you have been as supporters, and no one else has had it as bad. We dropped far quicker than you did and still averaged more fans!

A Leicester fan who was doing a survey for a forum asked a Bradford forum for the biggest clubs in this league yesterday and quite a few said Bradford were bigger than a Cov. Even the Leicester fan was laughing.

So you say don't give me excuses for poor crowds but you name at least 3 for 37 away fans in a Premier League match. That doesn't make much sense.

Okay, tell me how many STs you would realistically sell at £300? A £150 increase on what every fan is paying now. You would scrape 6,000 at most in my opinion.

Why would Cov aspire to be in Championship? Maybe Bradford but not us. We belong in the top division and the stats show it.

Cov clearly don't belong in the PL if you scraped through L1 last season and get about 7k home fans.

Well no atm clearly we don't but over history we do. And, we can't all have £150 STs can we?!

Oi, we averaged about 10k since we returned. Since the average away attendance is probably about 500. I make that around 9k home fans.

Oh, you're referring to the following thread, then? Where the vast majority stated that you were a bigger club, barring the odd couple - of whom I'm sure were on a wind up.

https://claretandbanter.uk/threads/clubs-in-league-1-in-size-order.44986/

The thing is though, I'm giving you an excuse for a measley away following 14 years ago. Your whole point of debate will eventually turn into a SISU poortale.

What is this fascination on our season ticket prices? The last time we charged 'full price' was back in 2007. Ticket prices were around £400 and we sold 5,500. Please bare in mind that just 5 seasons prior to this, we were premier league and playing in Europe - two relegations and two admins later, were were relegated from L1 in 2007 averaging just below 9,000...at FULL price. We haven't averaged less than 8,300 for what's nearly 20 years - so excuse me for not getting this full price, low crowd theory.

It may also be worth mentioning that the vast majority of our fanbase wanted an increase on ST prices for this season, but amazingly the club have gone the other way. Last season we sold 10k at £200, this season we're looking to surpass 15k at £150. It's a fantastic incentive.

Coventry aspire to be Championship, simply because you'll have to use the Championship as a stepping stone to go on to bigger and better things. However, times have changed from when Cov were a top flight club...it's not like it used to be. Admittedly, you have the potential...and so do we...along with many, many other clubs.

Aren't your ST's £250 for next season? If you sell less than 10k, it'll be a poor take up.

Yes but that's still a big jump up from Bradford.

There's no reason why we can't sell a good amount but before buying mine I want to see some intent from our lovely owners

Most of the Championship think that they belong/deserve to be in the Premier League - there's only twenty spaces though, you can't all be there.

Why compare yourself to us, especially when you repeatedly underline the clear differences?

You really own those redundant statements! #thumbsupbigboy

The club predicted that we would lose around 10% of our sales of we increased our ST prices to what yours currently are. That means the club predicted we'd still sell circa 9,000 at £250 - which blows your previous theory outta the water.

This Coventry fan is clearly attempting to wind City fans up, everyone knows Bradford City are bigger than Coventry.. Last two times I've been to Coventry away, first time there were less than 1200 home fans there and just over 8000 the last time when tickets were buy one get one free, tinpot Coventry.. But seriously though who cares who is bigger? We're both in the same league, just be thankful you have a team to support!
