Post war, average league attendance (well, from 1947 - 2014, due to the website i'm using) as I imagine each club has seen good times and terrible times within that period.

Edit - I'm going to re-do this c***

Average? Sheff Utds highest average was 35k lowest 10k. So 32k doesn't fit.

Yeah, it seems harsh but I've just never seen what I saw among Coventry supporters a few weeks ago before our match up there. It was like seeing a club on life support with supporters that already felt it was dying. I've never seen such an atmosphere of genuine despair around a club before on a matchday. no-one seemed to want to be there and no-one was really expecting anything positive. I remember having a drink with some local supporters doing Portsmouth away while they were down here in 2012-13 and struggling to rid themselves of Chanrai. There was still plenty of hope among them though, they knew they were in real shit but there was hope the PST could rescue the club and at least secure it's future. I've seen none of that spirit at Coventry because of how badly SISU are destroying the club.

During the move at Northampton a phoenix club wasn't really the right move or time, but perhaps at some point in the future if things get worse it will be the best hope, a phoenix club does seem curiously fitting though for Coventry of all places...
Coventry United were created as sort of a phoenix club, they are people who are discontent with SISU's management and want to get Coventry United up. They might start to gain more and more support if it continues like it is.

I'm surprised to see Barnsley very high in people's order. They've only had 1 season in the top flight?
23,000 seater stadium, top 6 crowds, top 6 budget, Category 2 academy, can attract supposedly good players for this division like Lita and Treacy (who turned out to be shit but that's not the point), spent most of our past and recent history in the 2nd tier. Not too many teams in this division stack up similar.

Port Vale VALE PARK

Capacity 50,000

Possibly the best ground in the lower divisions. Vale acquired this well appointed ground in 1950. Good stand seating accommodation and a reasonable amount of terrace cover. Excellent viewing all away around the ground. Refreshment and toilet facilities fair.

Chesterfield SALTERGATE

"The ground has a shabby and unkempt appearance"

Even 50 years ago Chesterfield was already a shithole

Looks like they forgot about Colchester at first.. All clubs are in alphabetical order except them shoehorned between Exeter and Grimsby

I didn't compile the list, but whoever did put more time and effort into it than searching google for a sarcastic gif....
Yea and whoever did do it, it was a complete waste of their time and effort.

So send them a message to let them know they're wrong, or you know, read the 'how it works' section and don't get so het up about it...

Of course you are, just like the folk who made that website, and I'm entitled to respect the opinion of them, who created a decent system in my opinion, over someone who criticizes their opinion without backing up his or her own opinion with anything other than sarcy gifs....

So why you getting so het up about my opinion?

The system has flaws as evidenced by the order of some clubs, that much is clear.

I'm not getting het up about anything, it's a website some football fans created for a bit of fun, a website that clearly states in the 'how it works' section that it's for entertainment purposes only and people will disagree. Stating I respect their opinion over your insightful posts doesn't mean I'm annoyed, that's an emotion unique to fans of supposedly big clubs when it comes to subjects like this, one of which I'm clearly not...

If it wasn't flawed then I wouldn't have to disagree. You seem pretty annoyed that I disagreed with it though, even though you say otherwise.

And I didn't think my post was that insightful but I respect your opinion mate.

No issue at all with you disagreeing, but why not explain exactly which aspects you disagree with and post your own little run down using your own flawless method?

When I was growing up and in school there were just as many, if not more Vale fans than Stoke. Still now I know loads of Vale fans that were fans growing up who just don't go anymore.

Haven't got the time or the desire to do so, I don't think you can use any method or calculation for determining the order of biggness anyway as they don't work and it spits out some unrealistic order. You have to look at the bigger picture rather than using some made up mathematical formula.

From that site, some of the orders which I take issue.

West Brom and Wolverhampton being higher than Tottenham
Birmingham, Leicester, Middlesbrough, Bolton, Burnley, Stoke being higher than Leeds
Notts County, Blackpool being higher than Portsmouth, Southampton
Grimsby being higher than Coventry, Bristol City, Bradford, Norwich, Ipswich

Some are possibly debatable but no one would deny that at a lot are wrong, these are the ones I picked out just looking over it for 10-15 minutes. I'd imagine I could find many more which are wrong if I looked deeper.
