What's with the higher crowd at Basingstoke?

Didn't go today but sounds very much like same old same old. Glad I'm missing four of our last six. Bring on August.

No. Concord's ground isn't up to Conf Prem standard. Their chairman is also a c***.

The hundreds of Stones supporters obviously... honestly Basingstoke possibly going for the title (before today), the international break and plugging the Raider's attendance like mad all contributed.

Edit: Concord's chairman is such a WUM I'm amazed he still gets people to bite to his tweets.

Fair enough.

He's not. He's just a prick. There's a few of them that practically demand respect from other fans and then they go round slagging others off. Their chairman made a comment in twitter about the size of Kedwell. That's something you'd expect from a fan, not a senior official...

I refuse to respond though, it's just petty.

Highlights from Saturday, Jefferson Louis' goal is well taken but the others should have been stopped by their keeper.

Does that mean they wont be allowed in the play-offs, or do you get a years grace these days?

No idea mate. I'd imagine, if deemed unfit, they'd get a certain amount of time to sort something out. Personally, I don't think it's up to scratch, but hey, you never know. There's a lovely caravan site right beside one of the side stands if any of you are planning on staying over... ;)

You need to have a 'B' rating to compete in the playoffs, I believe it's 4,000 capacity and 500 seats installed. The number of seats is definitely correct but I'm unsure on capacity.

3,300. Alfreton's capacity is 3,600 mind.

How hard would it be for Concord to 'extend' the current stand by about 200 seats? Not very.

Next season will be extremely competitive. Probably the toughest it's been in years. Will be any one of 5 or 6 sides who could all win the league.

Missed today's game so can't comment on performance but a very much needed win. And I'm so fucking happy for Michael West. Done his cruciate away at Whitehawk March 2014. Comes on as a sub a year on for his first appearance and scores. Praying we don't overuse him as he will be an asset next season. Big time.

Farnborough 1-4 Wealdstone (Att: 416)

4-0 up after 48 minutes, ideally we would have scored more but beggars can't be choosers. Farnborough it's obvious aren't organised and that's an absolute fundamental to cover any blatant weaknesses within the team. Ebbsfleet on Monday, we'll lose.

Pulling a sickie for tomorrow. You there pal?

I am, find me in the clubhouse before the game and I'll get you that Strongbow.

Highlights, Farnborough are a mess defensively, epitomised by our calamitous 2nd.

Good stuff bud. Dunno where we'll be beforehand but will find you either before the match or at HT.

That stand is going to look great at Step 3.
It looks like most of Farnborough's fans are not enamoured with the club as I bet around half of that crowd were Wealdstone fans.

They're in terminal decline, wouldn't surprise me if they experienced a double relegation next season.

Wealdstone 0-1 Ebbsfleet United (Att: 901)

No complaints from me, we were awful. Our positioning was appalling and whilst the effort was there, we were simply outplayed by a more organised and talented Ebbsfleet side. Ebbsfleet's goal came from a Elliott Godfrey own goal with his header looping over Jonathan North and into the far corner. The visitors had chances to extend the lead before HT but the post and Jonathan North came to our rescue.

The second half to me highlighted our urgent need to overhaul this squad in the summer. We had no out ball with Jonny Wright taken off before HT due to a knock, no other options up top other than Jefferson Louis who got himself sent off for a flailing arm on Ebbsfleet's #2.* We need new wingers, full backs (both of them should be binned ASAP) and some better central midfielders. Ebbsfleet's #3 and #6 (for all his elbowing and shirt-tugging) were superb, didn't get beat once and read the play better than almost any other defenders I've seen at The Vale all season. A couple of other incidents took place in the second half but I won't mention them until anything is confirmed/denied. Just blurgh... good to meet you again Joe., if you didn't have a drink in your hand both times I spoke to you I'd have got you that Strongbow.

*I actually thought he was a cheating cnut and said as much on Twitter as it happened. On replay though I was wrong, fair enough. He did sell it to the referee rather well did the Ebbsfleet right back.

On the ball mate, if you don't have a drink in you're hand then you're failing!

Bit of a nothing game really, neither side created a lot. Your summary is pretty much spot on. We were the slightly better of two poor sides. I didn't agree to the sending off at the time but on second viewing (it was actually uploaded during the game - quality that), it was definitely an elbow.

As expected, probably 150 or so of us. Your fans on Twitter and on your forum are very bitter, aren't they?

See you next season!

Nobody seems to know, best for all involved if Canvey's number 1 team finish 6th or lower. I think they would be allowed to compete in the playoffs with some kind of stipulation to ground upgrades/alternatives (like sharing with Canvey) should they win them. I'd hope if they didn't put forward any upgrade proposal then they would forfeit a playoff place, it going to 6th. This competition being run by the Conference means that anything could happen of course!

Joe Howe and Anthony Acheampong the first of our squad to be offered contracts for next season.

According to Steve Tervet, talks are underway with Michael West too. Praying he stays and gets back to his best.

I'd like to see both keepers stay but one won't want to stay and warm the bench so I reckon Preston will end up leaving for pastures new, unfortunately. Would like to see Langmead, Bonner and Palmer kept. The latter was excellent at left back yesterday. Bonner didn't do too bad in the centre either.

Would like to see Rance, Stuart Lewis, Theo Lewis, Godden, Kedwell, Cunnington and Shields all stay too. Sheringham will be given a chance in pre season to prove his fitness, and Luke Rooney is only on a short term deal. Hope he stays - he looked half decent yesterday.

Just read the match report on Weladstone website - laughable really. One moron outside the ground wished a multiple pile up on the m25 on us whilst his mate said "I'm glad you got run by Bromley" (not true, they smashed up local residents windows). Another claims Kedwell is on more than their whole squad, and their fanzine editor's twitter is full of bitterness.

Thought they were a good bunch until 5pm yesterday. Shame. Bring on Boreham Wood. Wonder if they will bring double figures this time.

Kedwell is on quite a lot though, right? Same as Cunnington? To be honest I don't know, I'd expect they're on nice figures though.

How's Achempong doing for you? Surprised hes one of the first to be renewed.

I reckon 1.5k plus goal/appearance bonuses. Fair wedge, but not quite the 3k+ per week that people seem happy to throw about.

I reckon Langmead is our third highest earner behind Keds and Stuart Lewis, and I have it on good authority that he's on 1k per week. Cunnington probably a little less. Bromley, Boreham Wood, Havant and Whitehawk all have high wage budgets for this level but nothing is said about them. Nobody really knows except for senior officials at our gaff and the players themselves. People claiming to know are deluding themselves.

Acheampong was solid when he first came here but went off the boil a bit. Came back from a couple of months out recently and has done well by all accounts. Was solid yesterday alongside Bonner. Day was his manager at Welling too so I'd imagine that played a part in wanting to keep him.

I presume Whitehawk's budget is quite large but I do get the impression from the signings you made that you have the biggest budget in both the North and South. Some of those players were making a big drop there. I also really rate Cunnington, good player.
Glad Achaempomg is doing well. He wasn't good at all for us last season but then he was hardly asked to play in a system that suited his style, nearly all out players under performed. Glad he's steadying his career down there with you. Nice guy.

Oh I'm not denying ours is the biggest (although I don't actually think Whitehawk is too far off. Bromley aren't exactly paying peanuts either), just saying we're not paying as much as what's been said. Bromley actually offered Anthony Cook a three year deal in the Summer and better terms than what we did. But he stuck with us. The players we signed in January weren't really getting game time and some had not long come back from injury, can't imagine any being on higher than 1.5k per week.

Yeah, Acheampong is a good guy. I like his passion. With three quality additions in the summer we have the potential to have a cracking side next season.

I heard some commotion when leaving the ground, a woman shouted 'fuck off' and a few words were had from a distance. The Twitter saga is embarrassing, y'know those times when you detest your own supporters? Well I feel like that right now.

The fella who shouted out about hoping we were involved in a multiple car pile up was wearing a help for heroes t shirt. Raised a fair bit of money apparently - bit of a moron tbh. It is a bit strange really as up until the sending off your lot were fine. Then things went a bit moody and there's a lot of wronguns come out. The forum and Twitter really do make funny reading. Shame really as speaking to some pre match, seemed like a good bunch.

Could be interesting when we meet next season!
