In a normal world, Tranmere's signings would really worry me but then I realise that Gary Brabin is their manager.

Wow, can only really echo what has been said about Hearn. I wonder if someone he knows at Barrow has had a quiet word in his ear. Andy Cook, perhaps?

With regards to our activity in the short term loan market, I think you definitely have a point GG. However, I think it can be used to good effect as a means of getting decent players in and then extending loans for half seasons or the remainder of the season. Luton, in particular, did this well when they went up which does counter your argument that it's not necessarily what the champions always do.

Margetts to Stockport could be beneficial to all involved, one worth keeping an eye on. How has he done? Lack of opportunities of late?

How Margetts isn't in the Tranmere squad ahead of Tomlinson I'll never know. Tomlinson has been a massive flop since arriving. Margetts lacks physical presence and really embarrassed himself when he last started against Barrow with some shocking distribution and decision making. He did however play a blinder against Bromley, scoring twice and had a great understanding with Mangan in that game. Can see him doing well at Stockport!

Vaughan will be (another) good signing for Tranmere but as a previous post, you've got little hope of it looking like that with Brabin at the helm.

Is it conducive to long-term success, having random guys from Crawley, Barnet and Luton rock up for a month or two? All this short-termism is what gets GTFC to the play-offs only to fall at the final hurdle year after year.

Fairly basic logic I'm using there but you get my point.
The policy of short term loanism helped us to two consecutive relegations in the noughties, I'm not a fan at all of loanism unless there is a backbone of quality and experience permanently on the books and then the loans can be used to fill the gaps that appear because of injuries. I think we have that now. My concerns are more in the tactical area. Until last week, we'd only won one tight game - ie a game v a top 6 team, that was home to Gateshead. No team has outplayed us - we've have good players - but we don't win these games enough to have a hope of being champions.

Not remotely inspired by signing Cheltenhams 3rd choice right back, not going to get us the 66% win record we need to make the playoffs and what's the point of spending money to solidify 10th spot.

It may be uninspiring signing Cheltenham's third choice right back but if it means Jennings is finally dropped and Maynard played in midfield, then it's the best signing we've made all season. Knowing Brabin though, Jennings will still be in the team on Saturday and Vaughan'll slot straight in up front in place of Mangan.

As well as a keeper from Fleetwood, Arestidou

I know Danny Hurst is out injured for the season, but with O'Hara being brought in last week on loan why would you need to sign another goalkeeper? Bearing in mind Hurst was dropped for Ormson for a period this season, has Young decided he doesn't rate him after all as otherwise I don't see why you'd need three goalkeepers?

Suggestions coming out now that the deal was done behind Moyses back between Cox and Hearn.

Let him go. What an absolute snake, I would rather the squad's good morale be kept intact than let tossers like him ruin that.

Adds a little extra to the match on December 19th, no doubt, even though he won't be playing.

Great quote to be fair.

I'm still none the wiser why Moyses just didn't turn down his request.

The only reason to leave Lincoln fkr Barrow is money. Bit of a shitty way to treat a team who have given you a chance. Odd given that Lincoln have an outside chance of going up while Barrow will spend all season languishing in the lower reaches if mid table.

I'm not sure whether the Grimsbyitis thing is reference to the way he left Grimsby for Mansfield?

Seems the players are, quite rightly, pissed off with him. Completely burnt his bridges I think.

Cox and Hearn will end up together wherever they go, they're obsessed with each other. Starting to look obvious why Hurst wasn't playing him that much before his ACL.

If I was Moyses I would have been massively tempted to be petty, refuse to sanction the deal, get him training by himself, then flog him in January. What a dick move by Hearn.

I thought his comments meant something along the lines of going on loan for a month to avoid playing us in December, but i suppose that would not make sense as he was seemingly happy to play against us earlier in the season before eventually missing out with injury.
Either way it stinks pretty bad.

Does he really think that we believe Cox has, just on the off chance, phoned up about our 2nd highest goal scorer, who's been playing regularly, started a game 12 hours earlier and is first choice in a front two without any sort of encouragement prior to the phone call? Give over.

Meikle couldn't sign for Barrow as he's been under contract at two clubs this season. He's been training with the club and is likely to sign in January.

Clearly there's a bromance going on between Cox and Hearn, the whole thing stinks to high heaven.

Hurst is by far the better keeper, he was only dropped because Ormson's distribution is better, which is ridiculous, then Ormson kept 3 clean sheets in a row so had to stay in, he then made a mistake against Chorley, and Young saw the same thing the fans did over the past few years, he's just not good enough yet, so Hurst came back in, got injured, we signed O'Hara who had an absolute shocker on his debut, made 3 mistakes and it was clear he wasn't good enough especially for the whole season so he'll go back to United, and Ormson will be number 2 and Arestidou number 1.

Fair enough about O'Hara having a shocker then, that explains it.

Vanarama National League North club Alfreton Town have announced the signing of 27-year-old winger Lindon Meikle following his release from National League side Macclesfield Town.

Finally a signing. First play we have signed since early September. The replacement for Jason Paling i would imagine and a good one at that! Finally some positive news!

MBH's loan has been extended, Murphy's been recalled by Walsall due to injuries in their squad which is annoying. Hopefully Singh is fit now.

Must say that is a very shit move by Hearn, I've had nothing but respect for his injuries and his move to Lincoln and he has always seemed like a good guy.

However he has always wanted to stay at "home" so now he goes and trots off to Cumbria which I find very much surprising. Cox will dick him over again potentially as Cox is known for his ridiculous high intensity training.
