This seems to be the attitude of a lot of Wrexham fans at the moment. Is that how others see it too?

No, you've still got a chance, it's not a big gap. But you needed to get your chins up and get on a good run quickly after your recent shit form and trying to sell one of your best players to a promotion rival sent out all the wrong signals. Things like that can go 2 ways, either you're players think "fuck this" and throw in the towel, or you can use it to create a siege mentality and prove the doubters wrong.

Hopefully your morale has taken a hit and we'll smash you on Saturday, but I wouldn't bet on it.

This seems to be the attitude of a lot of Wrexham fans at the moment. Is that how others see it too? I'm looking at a team six points off two of the play-off places with sixteen games to go and thinking it's still all to play for. We've been on a terrible run, yeah, but we're not completely devoid of what's needed to turn that around. Or do I need to lay off the meths for a few days?

I remember going to Glanford Park the first game of 02/03 season, our first after being relegated to "Soccer 2" or whatever the Fourth Division was called in those days. I thought it all terribly quaint and tinpot. You don't know you're born sometimes, do you?

Alright maybe that wasn't quite fair especially given where we were two seasons ago after losing at Chester (about 11th to surging into the playoffs). Of course hardly anyone would have believed that either. You're still bigger than Scunthorpe though. ;)

We've re-signed Bermuda international goalkeeper Dale Eve on a permanent deal, after he was released by Stoke.

Wayne Brooksby leaves Guiseley after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
Did well for us in conference north but struggled to provide much quality end product this term. Has pace and a great engine.
Now signed for North Ferriby United

Colin Gordon is already talking about players being tied up for next season. No matter what division we're in. Which is good news depending on the players.

Been a busy few days at the Impact.
Winger John Johnston has made his move to Salford Permanent.
Meanwhile Defender Stefan Galinski has joined Grantham Town struggling in the Evo Stik Premier for a month literally hours before fellow Central Defender Brad McGowan was ruled out for the season after sustaining a hand injury in the win over Curzon on Monday. That is a hammer blow to any faint play-offs we have. He has been instrumental in our revival since Christmas. Gutted

In more positive news Striker Joe Ironside has been released from his contract by Mtual Consent. When the two centre backs of Whaley Bridge Althtic where on top of him all game I think that sealed the deal. Good riddance to him. Wouldnt be surprised to see him drop to Northern Counties East League level.

John Johnston is a weird one. Was one of the standout players in a truly awful side that got relegated from the Conference Premier Last season. We all expected big things from him for this season but it never really happened. John isnt one of the most physical players in the world and i think he struggled to adapt to this league. He didnt look match fit at the start of the season. Then he had his best game in the fa cup win at Tamworth scoring a 90th minute winner but then got himself sent off in the 95th minute and never really recovered from that!

Once we brought Meikle in he struggled to fit in to the formation/team was left out. He is a loss but judging on performance this season id take Meikle over him evey day of the week. Wish him well at Salford, he will murder the Evo Stik League.

I really didn't think Ironside was that bad when we had him on loan a couple of seasons ago. Didn't fill the hole that the injured Gregory left at the time, but looked decent. Surprised he's not performed.

Or is it your usual doomsday when it comes to Alfreton? Given you thought you'd be relegated a month or so ago...

Haha. Nobody can quite believe how quick the turnaround has been. Its quite literally been overnight. From looking lost at home to Bradford PA on the 19th December. We look like a team fresh with a new lease of life against Tamworth on Boxing Day. "There is nothing "doomsday". about it. Ironside looked a useful striker for us prior to signing a contract. Once he signed said contract however he became a shadow of his former self. He couldnt hit a barn door. He missed an open goal in an away defeat at Dover last season and seemed to never recover. i often think had he scored that we would have stopped up..

My change in mood has been as quick as the teams. Its been nothing short of a remarkable turnaround.

With a little bit of luck and some competent officiating we could have quite easily won all of our past 9 games.

Its been nothing short of a remarkable turnaround.

The second best turnaround this season behind Woking in mid-November when everyone on here predicted Garry Hill had lost it.

Joe Ironside has signed for Nuneaton following his release from Alfreton. LOL. They do sign some rubbish. Lovely Lad Joe with a great attitude but unfortunately he lacks any real ability to compete at this level.

Must be a loan deal then, given the transfer window closed last week?

Very good signing, if he's fit and up for it.

Ab$olut£ Jok€. Really hope for the sake of integrity, moneybag clubs like Eastleigh and Forest Green stay in the conference this season.

Also his 93 day loan will expire 3 days before the playoff final. Will the league block any attempt to extend it should Eastleigh reach the final? I very much doubt it.

Doesn't address the defensive deficiencies. Great luxury offensive player though.

Somewhere in the distant future I hear a collection of buckets gently rattling in Eastleigh.

You'd be hard pushed to get me to piss in it.

Yes a loan deal.
We wont get to the play off final.
A few injuries defensively, so maybe we'll also sign a solid L2 defender aswell.
IMO, we should have signed Josh Gowling when we had the chance.
Is Pearson still not getting a start at Grimsby?

Gowling & Pearson are not money grabbers, so good luck with that one

You'd have to be delusional to think there's any chance of Hurst loaning out Pearson to another conference club

I'm not saying he would loan out Pearson, was just asking if he's still not starting games.

As for Gowling, i don't think you know how it works.
His agent was hawking him around before he signed for Grimsby, we had a chance to sign him, but we bulked at the wages, which tells its own story.
