Kayden Jackson to Barnsley. Wow. I'm not sure he's even good enough for us nevermind them. They obviously have their scouts down here and are signing up anyone they think might have a 0.1% chance to become a Vardy.

They seem to be doing what Crewe did the other year with Pogba, Oliver etc.

Considering the chance they could be a championship club next season, that's mental!

I think Jackson would have benefitted from another season with us, but I probably wouldn't turn down a championship/league one salary either. I wonder where he ends up on loan.

Alex Whittle and Shaun Rooney signed up today, both having careers partly north of the border. Scots connection coming into play!

Hopefully we get a sell-on clause for Jackson, or at least a half decent up front fee. Mills deserves some credit for discovering a player who clearly has potential when most people (including me) had no clue who he was. If I was him I'd be hoping that they don't win the Play Off Final, because if they do I would imagine that he would be pushed back further from the first team than he would if they stayed in League One.

Sam Wedgbury has signed for another year, which is great considering he was out of contract and did his ACL with one game to go in the season. Good to see the club are looking after him despite him being unavailable for at least half the season. I know Dale cops a lot of flack, a bit of it probably warranted but that's decent.

Jake Howells signs 2-year deal at Eastleigh.

Jack of all trades, master of none. Good squad player at Conference level but never really established himself as a first choice in any position for us despite playing a load of games due to versatility. He was a bit-part player for us when we finally put a title-winning side together at this level and only got back in the team when we suffered injuries, which is a fair representation of his ability level I think.

He's a moderately competent left-back but not great there as he is physically weak and not quick to compensate, plus not exactly a tough tackler. Good technical ability but lack of pace stops him from being a quality attacking threat as a winger. He has played centre mid in a three for us but it never worked too well. Best position is on the left in a flat midfield four I think, he doesn't have the pace or goal threat to take on the extra attacking responsibility a wide man has in a 4-3-3. What he does well is track back and work hard to help his full back out, and generally he combines well with his full back going forwards too. Decent crosser and a good penalty taker.

Basically he's solid but unspectacular even at Conference level, despite having a huge number of appearances for his age a closer look at his career stats highlights that he's never been a first choice for us in any position so he now needs to try and cement that somewhere else. Good luck to him, a good honest servant through a turbulent time for us, although he lost a fair amount of good will last summer when he asked to leave the club only to find that there were no takers for him.

We've signed Paul Rutherford. Hasn't he only played for relegation fodder in this league....?

Going after our rejects again? ;)

Football League relegation fodder at the time, at least.

Won player of the season for Southport so must have something about him. I must admit when I first heard he'd signed, I thought he was the player who went into the league but remembered that was David Fitzpatrick :ffs:

3 more signings tomorrow - Centre back, Striker and a "wide striker" (Definitely Rhead then..)

Hmm....we invited him for trial when were in Conference North, but he never bothered turning up. Decent player on his day, but that was always very rare. Once the crowd got on his back, he'd be terrible game after game. Can only see him getting in your team until you sign someone better in January.

He'll be a noticeable loss for us, but I can't see him offering much to a side who should be pushing for the play-offs. He's got a good touch, offers fantastic work rate and protects his full-back well, however his final ball and finishing isn't what you'd expect from a winger. He can play either wing, but at best for you I'd say he'll be handy to bring off the bench if you're protecting a lead.

We get two kids and an idiot from you, you get a fan's favourite from us. I think we've been had!

I wouldn't be too down on your signings. If Gray gets his head right he's an excellent player, easily capable of getting a decent amount of goals at this level, White looked very good at times for us and just needs a consistent run in a team, and Royle was highly rated at Colwyn Bay. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

"Highly rated at Colwyn Bay" isn't reassuring. We've sent out two players on loan there in recent seasons who both did well; Charile Joyce has ended up at Altrincham, and Russell Benjamin has ended in prison - I'm not sure which is worse!

Massive improvement on York then, I'm sold.

Sounds like he'd fit in well down our left ahead of Shaun Newton. A full back who does need a bit of protection, but will get forward and provide those killer balls into the box that Rutherford is apparently incapable of.

For :hesk: to smash over the bar.

He's gone back to his maiden name after Nolan got all big time following promotion. Nolan will have a proper WAG now. Bogle or someone.

Nolan was 'Not Needed' by Wrexham & Lincoln, he then was our stand out performer from January and helped us get promoted... i think there is only 1 winner here

Yeah he was class in the play-off final. Ran the midfield and showed up how much we missed Sinclair and Wedgbury. Although I suspect we'll need to get someone in like Nolan in our midfield next season if we are going to play the passing game that Cooper wants.
