Bakare was awful for Macc and doesn't seem to have done much since.

Why are Wrexham signing players of this quality on gates of almost 5000? Where is all your money going?

We actually spend the money we have, we don't spend money we don't have.

Maybe we are building a warchest. Or a golden throne for Mills.

doesn't sound inspiring.. brings the mood down from Wales doing well.

Went to Welling away last season. Welling were atrocious, truly dreadful. Hope to god neither played.

That would mean they weren't even good enough to get into an atrocious side.

Saw Nawty Nawty play against us last season, the only good thing about him was his name.

Will you be signing OJ Koroma next?

Who knows but the money doesnt seem to stretch very far in my opinion. My expectations were probably too high, they always are , but surely a neutral outsider could also perhaps see that its a little underwhelming on the face of it.

To pay the rent for the ground to the University
£200,000 this first year i believe. We were promised that the budget would be 'ring fenced' this season so, unless thats changed, our budget should still be £665,000 this season for playing staff.

The rent, we are told, shouldnt have an adverse effect on the first team budget this season. Going forward it 'should' hopefully pay for itself as well...

Never seen them play, but they play for Welling so they must be poor, great logic :ffs:
You can never tell how good a player really is unless he's got good players around him. I know nothing about either of them, but certainly won't write them off before I see them play. What I will say for Mills, is I am glad he has brought in people that are actually built for this league i.e. physicality, height and strength.

Wrexham v Woking next season is going to be hilarious.

The speed at which the standard in this division is dropping is quite remarkable.

Nortei was useless against us, and I would certainly doubt that was purely because of his teammates. I don't think he's tall, strong or physical either - may be wrong, but I seem to remember he looked tiny.

From what I remember, Bakare is also very lightweight.

Michael Bakare is 29 years old and has 71 appearances in the last 5 seasons; some of those years playing at teams lower down the pyramid.

He's made less than 200 appearances in his entire senior career. I really have no idea why he has been signed.

Are those figures accurate though? I'm always suspicious of Wikipedia stats, particularly when you are talking about non league players.

He seems an odd one on paper. Of all the signings he's the least obvious one as he doesn't even have youth on his side.

I've seen him play plenty of times for Chelsea's U21 side, good skill and quite quick. Will be decent midfielder in a good side.

That's the thing with this league, it's full of inconsistent players who have bad games scattered throughout the season. If I judged a player on how they played against us then I wouldn't want to sign any of Cheltenham's or Grimsby's players based on how they played at our place, but they obviously had good games elsewhere and got themselves promoted.

I don't focus on things like that, Manny Smith had a consistent injury list before he signed for us and barely missed a game. I look at what he can possibly bring to us and from the highlights video I saw of him showing a range of attributes, he's direct, he doesn't lack pace, he's strong, and he has ability on the ball. Plus he's left footed which gives us nice balance.

Up to seven players now with the re-signing of Brian Saah.

Not surprised Rendell has signed for Aldershot. We offered him reduced terms after his injury and he's obviously gone for more money there. As I have said before, we re-signed Yakubu coming back from the same injury, I don't think we could justify signing another. He's a goalscorer, wins headers, works hard etc. His pace is his weakness. I imagine the injury will have only made that worse.

It does make you wonder how Aldershot can afford him, given their average crowds last season were lower than ours. How they have money to spend on a 29-year-old striker who has been injured for an entire season is anyone's guess - says a lot that FGR or Eastleigh didn't go for him...

Proven goalscorers are hard to find and always command a premium. Rendell had a fantastic record for Woking until the injury. Only time will tell if he can rediscover the scoring touch after such a lengthy lay off. Worth a punt though if you ask me.

Yes, if you have the money to do so. This is a club that has died, reformed and then entered administration again. This signing makes you question where they're getting the money from, on crowds lower than ours.
