Macclesfield could be an outside bet for the playoffs this season I think. Got a good first 11 at least.

Still need a striker. We only have Sampson and he scored 4 last season. Holroyd can play there but he only scored once last season. Solid all over the pitch apart from up top.

We've signed Tyrell Waite. Lincoln fans is he any good?

As above.

Made zero impact here, then asked to have his 6 month deal terminated to go to Sweden.

Terrible, unfortunately. He might do something at your level but showed nothing to suggest he could cope at our level.

Doesn't sound great then but he really impressed against Hereford tonight obviously a lower opposition but he seemed to have a lot of pace maybe lacking an end product but still seems to have potential. Hopefully he finds his level here.

We've just signed left-back Ben Gordon. Apparently he's been pretty solid during the PSFs, but I see he spent three months with Chester last season without making a single league appearance.

Burr signed him and Luke Woodland at the same time and then hardly played either of them. Strange, but he was starting to lose the plot at that point.

Was he the one who did or didn't play? Which ever one did play wasn't that impressive when I saw him play (against Macc?).

Looks like it was Woodland and he only got 15 minutes against Woking. My memory was that it was a bit more, so maybe I am being a bit harsh.

I remember Woodland coming on for 15 minutes or so in one league game. I think Gordon only featured in the Cheshire Cup.

We've signed 19 year old winger Dennon Lewis on a season-long loan from Watford.

Tyler Harvey sounds like one hell of a capture, I'm guessing he'll be playing up front and then he can also make sure Rooney is on his toes week in week out, otherwise he can drop back and occupy that no.10 spot. Don't know a lot about Harrad but I hear that he's a 100% player and gives his all every game. I think Mills has spent his budget superbly this summer, the midfield might be a bit lightweight but in Barry we have someone who is like a hybrid of Keates and Harris (without the stupid tackles), I hope he plays Kai Edwards alongside him, one of the best players on the pitch vs Telford.

I think you overrate Barry somewhat, he's played very little football in the past few years as the guy is never fit. Keates and Harris played the same way 3 games a week, there's no way he is doing that all season. There's something mental like 12 or 13 games played between next Saturday and the end of September, I would be amazed if he doesn't pick up an injury through all that.

I wouldn't say he's spent the budget superbly, though he has improved the goalkeepers and defence overall. I think we are weaker in midfield and are probably par in terms of forward players. It's a decent squad which should be comfortably top 10 and have a chance of a playoff challenge.

I'm guessing you didn't go to Telford? That's where my comparison comes from, he was finding space and asking for the ball all the time and more often than not found his man with a pin point pass (Keates) & He was rushing the opposition everytime they got the ball like a terrier with excellent workrate (Harris), Rooney was also doing this too.
Midfield is definitely stronger if he plays the right players, Kai Edwards is very strong in a tackle and is very composed on the ball, but if he plays Rob Evans instead then I'd agree, Barry & Edwards were brilliant together.
Keeper and defence is miles better. No one will push Riley, Bencherif or Tilt off the ball like teams constantly did with Manny Smith and sometimes Hudson.

I'd say a true hybrid of Keates and Harris would be injured or suspended for about 30% of every season.

I didn't go to Telford, anyone can look good in friendlies so I don't take any real notice of them to form opinions but I know Rooney has scored a few so far. I'm confident those defenders are a better set than the ones they replaced and we have 2 good keepers to choose from.

Don't know how Wade Joyce has got a move to Chester when he couldn't even get in our team.
Seems like a cheap backup to me, expect him to be behind George, Hughes and Shaw in the queue for that position. He's been on trial and just looked average, hasn't done anything good or bad really.

Also signed James Akintunde after his impressive trial spell. Happy with that one.

Nothing confirmed by the club but the Daily Post scored an own goal by posting a video of Gerry McDonagh having interviews with the press about signing. 18 year old on loan from Notts Forest, absolute unit of a player.

" ... in Barry we have someone who is like a hybrid of Keates and Harris (without the stupid tackles)" .. I think you mean "without the tackles". Never seen someone pull out of so many tackles before.

Well then you clearly had a different Barry. He was everywhere vs Telford the other night, performing blocks and last ditch tackles and then on the odd occasion he lost it, he chased the player down and wouldn't give him breathing space.
