I find that hard to believe, the figure quoted in several places was around the 30k mark, so unless you offered say £10k-15k I can't see how we could have offered lots more than you.

Lincoln fans are in denial. They are Going For It™ big time, throwing more money at it then anyone else can get near and anything less then a romp to the title will be a massive failure by the Cowley brothers.

We didn't pay £2k a week when we were in the league with crowds of 5k and pocketing FL money, so that's obviously not possible now or even likely.

In recent history, and off the top of my head, Rob Burch was on about £1.5k/week in 2007/08.

Don't spoil it for the Eastleigh Fan Luke, better to make up amounts rather than actual facts about other clubs. It's better to try and deflect, especially when they are spending ridiculous sums of money on their own players.

With all these quality players coming in, expect Lincoln to play MUCH better football then Braintree were able to on their budget.

Yeah, I'm not naïve enough to think our budget is still only £500k like a couple of seasons ago and players on £450/week. It's probably £700k or so, which is in line with the SA guy (£100k), fundraising (£50k) and the Margetts sale (£50k+).

Only a squad of 18 or 19, though, and probably just need another striker (rumoured to be Akinola).

No doubt we need to be hitting the PO's as a minimum but we're at least a good striker short of title material. I'm dubious that we can go from mid-table to title winners in a season.

Plus, our record so far this season against the fancied sides is poor having only beaten Tranmere but lost against Dagenham, Dover and Barrow so we'll see how the game against Eastleigh pans out tomorrow.

In other news, Jamie McCombe has been handed a player/coach role, so that'll be him probably retiring at the end of the season. Not really been in many squads so far this season.

He's been doing coaching stuff for a while pre-match so no surprise there really, played at a very decent level in his pomp after leaving us

We have a budget of 750k divided by around 20 players work out for yourselves and our coaching staff budget was boosted by around 100k to get Danny and Nicky as Moyses worked for free as you all know.
If our player budget is anymore when our accounts for the season are released then I apologise. We haven't paid anyone 2k a week or anything like since the 2001/2 season when many of our squad were not that it did any good we finished 22nd and went into administration!
I dont think our bank would be too pleased either as we have a large debt with them that are paying back over an agreed period if we start paying sill money I'm sure they'll think we're taking the piss and want it back much quicker.
