Jack Payne will join us from Blackpool when his contract runs out. Orient fans don't seem to rate him too much, but I know he was excellent at Gillingham and features 40+ times last season. He is also a Gravesend boy. Well chuffed with that.
Believe me that is one hell of a signing for you boys, he won't be cheap either.

I didn't think he was a bad player myself, but sadly he was here when we were in the shit all over the place and he was inconsistent and eventually he had to be sacrificed as he was loan player.

Yeah, massive signing for us. The more I read, the more I'm surprised Blackpool didn't offer him a new deal. He's been rated highly by his other clubs fans and I saw him play a few times at Gillingham and thought he was excellent.

Didn't realise some of his family are Fleet fans too.

That old chestnut eh?!

If you chuck enough money at Robbie Keane that will make him and his family lifelong Ebbsfleet fans too. :bg1:

Dan Jones will do a good job at this level.Decent centre half with a missile for throw ins.
Was playing well at left back until one of Mansfields thugs, sorry players tried to strangle him.

I did think somebody would say that. ;) true story though, they're Gravesend based. Not so sure about now, but they used to come down quite often. He was in our youth ranks before going to Gillingham.

Boreham Wood have signed Tom Champion from Cambridge.
He left Cambridge in 2015, we released him this summer.

Good signing for them, was more than adequate backup in L2 for us for two years.

He's a tidy holding mid but lacks pace and liable to have the odd shocker every now and then. Mostly solid though and we only let him go because we're looking to push on now and he is the wrong side of 30.

Wasn't Tom Champion a bit of a temporary disaster for Lincoln on loan for a few games last season, or am I mixing up people?

We must have had all his shockers!
I remember your fans didn't like him at all. Bit of a strange situation because as soon as you guys cancelled his loan we gave him a run of games and he was excellent.

Can imagine the travel was a factor for him. I think he was training with us half the week so not much opportunity to gel with your squad.

Yeah that was him. Mostly decent in the division above though, and his best run of form was immediately after Cowley sent him back!

We've signed left back Blair Adams from Hamilton. Plenty of games at L1 and L2 level for Cambridge and Notts County, comes highly rated apparently.

Not by us. We signed Jake Carroll to replace him and modified our recruitment approach when we realised what Derry had done.

Yep, him in the side coincided with our worst league form of the season IIRC.

He just didn't suit our style of play. He couldn't get round the pitch quick enough to press nor was he anywhere near fit enough either.

Asa Hall confirmed for us now. I don't think he did too well at York, but I remember him being decent for Cheltenham when they got promoted. A direct replacement for Turnbull, but hopefully with a little bit more about him.

I hope he's better than Jake Carroll. Couldn't stand him, offered nothing at all apart from wearing the tightest shirts possible to show off his apparent muscular physique. Couldn't believe you signed him in all honesty.

Calamity Carroll, played practically every game in one of our worst defences in recent history, like you couldn't believe someone wanted to pay money for him.

I'm pretty okay with this signing, if it means one less position for Donnelly to play in all is well.

Elliott Newby has also signed for Telford. A bit of a shock as it looked like he might finally get his first-team chance, and was announced as retained. Impressed with Altrincham at the end of the season, and would be good for any Conference North side.

We've signed Marcus Kelly after he left FGR.

Another good signing on paper, but didn't play much last season.. whether through injury or not selected? I seem to remember he was played in a number of positions for them.

Wanted us to sign him for years, brilliant left foot on him. Hope he's still decent.

Don't play him at left-back.

He was poor but to be fair he had been out injured for a while and came here to get game time.Played in about last 20 games but for me never got up to match speed.
Maybe a good pre season and fitness back he will come good.
Works hard but tends to hit it long to much.

Kelly's a really decent signing who brings a bit of bonus balance to the squad too.

Useful to have someone who can drop back to left back should Jennings get injured, but he'll be left in a midfield three I'd imagine. Ace to have someone with a great left peg for set pieces. And someone else with shit loads of experience who's also played with Wedgbury which will help us hit the ground running going into next season.

He was with us on loan a few years back and was pretty useless, albeit in a terrible team.

Glad Kelly has got a big club, quite like Wrexham now with all these fgr players there! What a legend Kelly is great signing!

We've signed left back Scott Barrow, formerly of Newport County, Macc and Tamworth.
