Just reading the last few pages of the thread.

Wow.

Big, big pressure on Dagenham and Hartlepool. When you're throwing money around like confetti like those two animals you need the reward of promotion.
We're so rich it's unbelievable.

Haway Stocky, you've gotta try harder than that, McCallum will be on more p/w than all 6 of our recent signings combined.

Stockport County.
We were part time last season. We've transitioned to full time and increased the budget but we won't be in the top 7 for wages.

Rooney will be on more than the £1,300 wages that he'd have gone up to after promotion.

The players we bring in will be on higher end National League contracts but the overall squad wage bill won't be in the top 7. Maybe in a year or two when the squad has fully evolved, we'll be near the top.

I suppose standards might have changed in the last 40 years, but...

In 1979/80, Rochdale beat Den Bosch 7-0 in a pre season friendly.

In 1979/80, Rochdale finished comfortably bottom of the 4th division.

In 1979/80, Den Bosch finished 4th in the Eerste (2nd) Division in the Netherlands...

There is no single less reliable indicator of where a team is at than friendlies. We've had awful pre-seasons ahead of our two title wins at this level and some great pre-season wins in seasons where we've gone down.

CONFIRMED bankrolling. Disgusting stuff all round.

Nathan Pond has signed for Fylde, in your life have you ever heard of a more obvious transfer.

Disappointed with Pond signing for Fylde, I thought Maidenhead had a monopoly over Montserrat internationals.

We lost 2-1 at home to a local amateur select 11 (well amateur plus about 4 semi pro's) last season - and won the title... so yep it's a very bad indicator.
You was granted the title will always have a * beside it

How does he keep getting moves above this level?

Also how does Harry Kewell keep getting job after job?

He keeps getting jobs at clubs that are run by nutters though, look at Hardy when he got the Notts County job.

Not a "new" signing as such but Josh Kelly has changed his mind about leaving Maidenhead and signed a new deal.

Maidenhead also sign left back George Wells from Slough

Maidenhead also sign Dan Sparkes

I swear more than half of National League signings so far have been ours

Another Conference classic signing there though.

Maidenhead clearly leading the way in the return to normality.

Been very impressed with Maidenhead’s business. Parry, Blissett and Donnellan are an upgrade on some of the donkeys they’ve signed in recent time. All 3 will suit Dev’s football to a tee.
Sparkes is perfect for Maidenhead too. Can’t beat a man but can whip a ball. Perfect for set plays to the giants.
Keeping Josh Kelly is huge for them as well - great ball carrier.
Early evidence suggesting they should be fine and comfortable this season

We've signed Luke Prosser today. Released by Colchester, was a regular for them last season. Suspect he'll be steady enough for this level, should hopefully form a decent partnership with Cuthbert.

We also signed Ben Coker on loan last week, if he can stay fit I think that'll be a good signing. He was great for Southend a couple of seasons ago, had a lot of injuries since so a risk from that stand point but hopefully one that'll pay off.

A team that has Sparkes on the pitch for 90 mins will benefit hugely from his set pieces - he’s one of the best I’ve seen from a dead ball at this level.

We often had better options but he was always pretty dangerous. Lovely guy too and will always be remembered for the free kick against Brentford. My voice only just recovered last week.

Agree, we seem to be building a much more robust squad this season, and with many clubs holding off making signings right now altogether things are looking up.

Any chance that can you change your named to Magpiebot from Beebot as you only seam to post about Maidenhead these days?

That will upset our current set piece "expert" James Comley.
Must have had contract renegotiation where he is not permitted to take every throw in, corner and free kick.
