When we were FL we only got northern players, since we've been here we're able to get loads of southern lads up to Hartlepool. Not sure what it is.

I was thinking the same last night, plenty have made the move the last few seasons.
Maybe they're drawn to our tropical climate.

We've signed Paul McCallum. Dread to think how much money he is on but he has the sort of pedigree that we desperately need after Taylor stupidly signed Joe Quigley last summer.

Maybe....just maybe.....we can have a decent season.

A 3 year deal! Madness in this climate but I think it proves how deep the pockets of the Americans are. He’s a great signing and will do very well for Daggers - but he will have cost a LOT.

Are Dagenham going to completely rebuild? Obviously a great signing but seems a bit out of the blue, not as if there’s lots of other eye catching players that have joined them.

We’ve signed Rúben Rodrigues, 24 year old attacking midfielder from Den Bosch in the Dutch second tier.

12 goals and 10 assists in 27 games last season before their season was ended, which seems impressive, although I don’t know a huge amount about the standard.

We’ve not actually got a bad squad. We were 4th last season after a fair few games until Taylor completely lost the plot and injuries took a hold. Also the failure to sign a striker capable of scoring was our main failure.

Balanta and Deering are good at this level whilst Brundle adds goals from the midfield.

We need a little reinforcement in defence after losing Gordon and Onariase to Bolton and Scunthorpe.

Not going to claim we’re league winners or anything but we’re looking a lot more like Play Off hopefuls at least.

You never know with owners but the Americans have given us no reason to be worried so far. Stuck to their word on everything and come across as good people.

Echo those thoughts we have some very good players, Taylor went for 0-0 before anything in every game and sucked the life out of many of the flair players we have. Injuries were bad for us, still without a striker we would never had done anything special. McMahon kept us up, as before he came in we looked doomed under Taylor.

Our owners have said we will have a top 7-8 budget and will improve the ground gradually which they have been doing with new club shop, even said we won’t be spending like Salford.

Dutch second tier is lower L1/upper L2 standard.

That is a good signing going purely off stats.

It’s a coup for sure, I’d have been pleased if we had signed him.

As for our new signing, as Jacob says no idea what the standard of Dutch 2nd tier but he looks decent - looking forward to seeing him. Another football radar one?

Looks like the first example of a real Football Radar signing, although Ardley has said that he’s watched him a lot too. Hope it’s not a replacement for Roberts (although he’s been all over our new kit launch and stuff which is hopefully a good sign).

Not a player, but our assistant Neil Cox has just been announced as the new Scunthorpe manager.

We've had two signings who came (indirectly) from Dutch second tier - Benjamin van den Broek and Dave Nieskens - and they were very much Conference North standard. I think it's a very poor league, but those stats are good at any level.

We played a Dutch 2nd div side in a pre season friendly whilst in league two, very good standard of top of league two level I’d say.

Technically they should be fine it’s the physicality these types of players struggle with.

We’ve signed Australian goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis most recently of Melbourne City (his partner has just joined Arsenal Ladies) and former Halifax striker Tobi Sho-Silva who most recently seen scoring in the playoffs for Halifax at Boreham Wood

I see Sutton have signed Tobi-Sho Silva. Works hard and seems like a nice lad but I’m surprised we offered him a new deal.

I suppose standards might have changed in the last 40 years, but...

In 1979/80, Rochdale beat Den Bosch 7-0 in a pre season friendly.

In 1979/80, Rochdale finished comfortably bottom of the 4th division.

In 1979/80, Den Bosch finished 4th in the Eerste (2nd) Division in the Netherlands...

Jacob; Crawley signed Boldewijn from the Dutch second division. We made a gooc profit selling him to your lot. We also signed another forward who was injury prone and a midfielder who, according to fm manager, is worth 5 mil. He can't get into the checkatrade trophy side.

1 in 3 chance of a good un.

We've signed a CB from the same league so it has potential to go very bad for one and very good for the other.

The only thing I know about is that every game seems to finish 5-3 or something, so I reckon a centre back is optimistic. :D

Stevenage have signed Ben Coker from us on a season long loan. Only played 60 minutes for us last season, which was in the Checkatrade. Mainly down to the change in manager, although he was injured at the start of the season and when Appleton came in.

Should be a more than adequate signing for Stevenage at this level.

You can stick Paul McCullum up your arse, a Portuguese signing is second only in sexiness to a Dutch signing.

vamos lá tortas!!

Dagenham officially bankrolled then.

CONFIRMED bankrolling. Disgusting stuff all round.

Nathan Pond has signed for Fylde, in your life have you ever heard of a more obvious transfer.

Interesting interview with him in his local paper in Holland, we'd signed him before the play-offs so presumably must've been confident that he could step up to League Two if needed. Also reckons that he had offers from the German third tier and top flights in Holland and Belgium, so god knows how he's ended up here.

ha ha ha exactly what I thought. Good signing for us in the north though. Gutted I’ve got to go back to that north forum. Honestly, they don’t deserve me. I thought I’d be done with them lot forever

Just reading the last few pages of the thread.

Wow.

Big, big pressure on Dagenham and Hartlepool. When you're throwing money around like confetti like those two animals you need the reward of promotion.
