Nope (good guess though) - it was because he lives in the North-West and didn’t want to relocate or travel that far to training on a full-time basis.

Yes - I enjoy making up rumours about Step 6 (?!) players in my spare time.

Pools were in for him, along with a number of other clubs. If you really think I’m making it up, then you’re sadly mistaken!

You've given no proof, we're already in for Gary Liddle, can't see Challinor wanting a centre back partnership with a combined age of 85. He's joined you because he wants part time football, we can't offer that so I think someone is telling you porkies.

Someone is very sensitive about a “made-up rumour”.

I wouldn’t be shouting too loud about the whole “new club” malarkey......

Tyrone Marsh has left Boreham Wood for Stevenage. That's a real mid-table NL strikeforce they've got now.

Their transfer business is almost mirroring ours from two years ago. Lots of early spending on mid table players.

We've confirmed the signing of Jamie Stott on a two-year deal, after he'd been training with County over the summer. Spent a couple of loan spells at Edgeley Park and it's fair to say he became popular with the fans, left-sided centre half, very composed for his age

There was rumours he may end up with us given we are probably after a centre half with Brown leaving and he played for Wild at Oldham. 3 good centre backs in Hogan, Palmer and Stott. Looks like another good signing for you.

If they can hit similar numbers for us then I won't be too disappointed. 14 goals for Marsh, 16 for Effiong. Not horrendous tallies.

When we were last promoted from this league our 4 strikers combined for 40 goals (14 for Yemi, 13 for Griffin, 7 for Boylan and 6 for Beardsley). Not suggesting we'll get promoted as I don't think we will but we were promoted from this league without a higher level of striker.

Reynolds is semi-decent when he wants to be, however he does love a party and being the center of attention. Came across as a bit of a dickhead.

Dont let him near the balloons whatever you do

Basically this. Good defender, but totally unsuitable for the captaincy. It was a poor decision by Still to give him the armband and it took far too long for Currie to take it off him. Once he did, his performances improved.

Classic example of a player who has all the technical and physical attributes to boss his position but doesn't consistently have the right mental attitude.

Going for it alongside Stockport

I wouldn't call him a "going for it" signing, he's never played above this level and there's a good reason for that.

I don't think we're going for it anymore or less than 9-10 other challengers in this league. We were hybrid last season so there had to be a more obvious transition with us compared to others.

I think it will a very competitive league. The losers of tomorrows final will be favourites for 1st IMO.

He won’t be captain at ours unless Clark gets dropped which I don’t see, if he wants to be a playboy he won’t last long with us.

The going for it was a joke, we’re only replacing like for like on players we’ve lost so far.

Pools also sign Rhys Oates and Josh MacDonald last at Halifax?

Seems to be it for today
