I wonder whether the Monkey Hanging Tories will pick him up, if they were still in this league I suspect they would have but not so sure now they've gone up.
Bennett's much better than half the strikers we saw in League 2 last season. He'd have been excellent in the Morecambe team that went up. Wouldn't be surprised to see him picked up as a back-up option by the likes of Tranmere or Oldham.

We’ve signed Kyle Cameron from Torquay. Very happy with that as a start.
He was always likely to leave but a little surprising he hasn't held out for a league 2 club . I know he wanted to move back up north though so maybe that limited his options.

Cracking player though, took last seaon to adjust to this level but for me he would have been our player of the year this season if he hadn't missed a large chunk of games injured.

As a bonus he can do a job on the left wing as well ;)

Looks like he’s very good mates with Cal Roberts from their days at Newcastle, so maybe that swung it for us!

Sure this will cause a bit of existential panic in our fan base, but we’ve got to trust our model on things like this and releasing Enzio, I guess, in knowing how much someone is actually worth.
Tbf who’s to say we’ve out bid you or offered a longer contract etc… I can’t see how we have the resources to absolutely ‘gazump’ you for instance. It’s not like we’re talking about going from a part time club to a full time club here..

We’re both similar sized clubs with aspirations to get back to the FL, maybe it’s just simply down to him having a better feeling for Rowe and the project here than Burchnall/Notts?

Yeah pleased about Cameron, a shame about Miller, thought he was nailed on to sign for us. Must have had a good offer from Chesterfield. Maybe he fancies a bit of furlough action come November/December.

Possibly, but in 99% of cases it’s going to be money (or location). I’ve got no problem with that btw, is how we’ve signed someone like Cameron and players at our level are hardly on fortunes.

I don’t think you’ve got the resources to gazump is in general btw, it just more than likely means you’re paying Miller more than the model we use for assessing players reckons he’s worth. Which may well be wrong.

Really pleased with the business we've done, and getting a lot of it sorted nice and early. I think maybe one or two more max and that's us ready?

Jack Clarke is nailed on, I suspect him and a back up goalkeeper will be the end of our business this summer

Cameron has been a good servant to us, sad to see him go for that reason, but I think we can probably do better. The fact he's made a sideways move to a divisional rival suggests as much.

Nice this, I'm a bit used to having someone like John Sheridan in charge who buggered off on his holidays as soon as the season was done and then signed half a dozen randoms a week before the season starts. Good to get to the buffet table before all that's left is some manky egg sarnies

Oh my word… I’ve got a feeling the Notts fans aren’t gonna be pleased with this one…

A lot of Notts fans will be disappointed, personally I'm glad he's not signed. He's a left winger or nothing, gets a nose bleed in front of goal and every half decent right back has had him in his pocket. I'm not convinced he's got huge depths of stamina either.
Harrogate aren't daft and they wanted rid pretty quickly. You do have a good manager who'll probably get out of him what's there but I think Boldwijn is by far the better player.

Chesterfield Going For It™, hell for leather.

Huge favourites for the league now as it stands.

Oh no question Enzio is a much better player, but Miller suits a 3-5-2 far more IMO. I think that’s harsh on him, lack of end product is probably a fair criticism, but he was very good for us during the run in.

He was good on about five occasions, not so much at Torquay in the semi where the defender had a comfortable afternoon.
I'd rather re sign Sam Osborne.

Fully expect a few of our current fringe players to move out in the coming weeks.

Definitely think the likes of Joe Rowley and Kairo Mitchell will be moving out, ideally on loan to another club at this level for them to kick on. Both have potential but neither are going to be regulars

Can also see Martin Smith and Alex Whittle departing too

Cracking business from Chesterfield. Got the real makings of title contenders and I'm sure they'll add a few more yet. I know Rowe has done really well so far but he's got a lot of expectations to live up to next season. Anything below top 3 or winning playoffs would be a failure with that squad imo

Agree on point regarding the pressure 100%. Last year when he came in, we just wanted him to keep us up so everything else after that was a bonus last season

But this coming season, with the backing he’s had from the board last season and this to bring in a whole new squad, coupled with the size of the club and the expectation… the pressure is on no doubt about it

My only worry with Chesterfield would, weirdly, be having too many players and options. Particularly when their injured ones come back in the autumn or whenever.

We’ve tried a big, two-players-for-every-position squad the last two years and just ended up changing it too much to try and find something that works or with decently paid, senior players not even making the matchday squad. And watched promotion go to four teams with small, tight knit groups.

Agree about Chesterfield having too many players. Also, James Rowe seems a bit of a cock. I can imagine if things don't go immediately well, he will start to unravel. I fancy Dagenham and Redbridge to crack on next season and be a major threat. They already had a team that ought to have challenged last season but for whatever reason didn't click until too late, but it seems like they've held it altogether for next. But if not them, you just know the title will be won by some total outsider, like bloody King's Lynn or Woking or something. This division is mental, maybe Notts will deploy Kyle Cameron as a centre forward and he'll score thirty goals.

We had a big squad last year and Rowe did well in keeping the majority happy, as he rotated people in and out and had success with it.

Definitely doesn’t need to be rotating goalkeepers again though, that just doesn’t work. Loach all season for me providing he stays injury free
