Those signed early doors are often decent players signed early to beat the competition but also desperate players who take the first offer they get as they know they might not get anything else. Those signed late are also often decent players, who know their worth and haven't committed to anything too early as they hold out for better deals but can also be the dregs that clubs have to settle for.No -- But you also might just sign the players that no one else wants.
In summary, the time you sign a player has no bearing on their likely quality.
Anyway the chances are these players have been in the bag for a while, Johnson has this thing about last minute unveilings, we often only find out we have a new signing an hour before kick off even though they've been training with us for a week or more.
We don't have a budget to compare to the big hitters in this league so don't expect to be blown away.
