And that completes today's fun and games, no Molyneaux then or Nicky Maynard (yet).

Is there anyone who hasn’t signed a single player yet? Not seen $olihull announce many?

they have only started back at training today so they could have easily announced these last week unless they thought they were doing some cool media release thing like manic monday
If course we could have drip fed them for weeks like everyone else but where's the fun in that?
Can guarantee our website got more hits in one day today than if you'd added up all the hits from announcing them on separate days.

Can’t lie. If I was a Torquay fan, I’d be a little underwhelmed overall. Was expecting them to make some big signings after their last campaign and Johnson’s contacts/pedigree etc

Johnson's salary probably takes up half the overall budget.

I don't think anyone expected big deals from Torquay. Johnson is a quality manager though, some of these will be gems I imagine. Some won't work out but what's the betting two or three of these have majorly enhanced reputations in 12 months time and people are trying to snatch them?

Nothing saying there aren't more to come, we've still only got a squad of 17.

Nah I’m sorry Torquay, you can’t hype up a day like that and then of the 7 signings only one has been vaguely heard of.

Expect heads to roll in the media department.

"Those signed early doors are often decent players signed early to beat the competition but also desperate players who take the first offer they get as they know they might not get anything else. Those signed late are also often decent players, who know their worth and haven't committed to anything too early as they hold out for better deals but can also be the dregs that clubs have to settle for." - So which category would you say your new signings fall into?

To be fair, none of us had heard of Kyle Cameron, Ben Whitfield, Aaron Nemane or Lucas Covalan before they signed for us (well, I had heard of Covolan as I saw him play for Worthing) and they've all gone on to bigger and better things (except for Cameron, I think he's signed for someone called Nottinghamshire United or summit like that).

But, as always, time will tell.

I personally don't think they are 'underwhelming' signings. Far from it. When you have players coming in from the likes of Bournemouth, Barnsley, Colchester etc you'd expect them to be of a decent standard. The one I'm most intrigued about is Lolos from Argyle... if he's anything like Adam Randell who was with us on loan last season from the Greens I'll be more than happy.

We thought that last season with Ian Holloway here with all of his contacts in the game.
We got Ira Jackson Jr and Montel Gibson.

To be fair our best player is probably Jordan Davies. And if it wasn't for the fact that we all knew he was quality as Brighton signed him from us in the first place, when we signed him last summer he was basically a player with no league experience let go by a Premiership academy after a couple of seasons.

Most of them are young prospects who we will look to improve, it's how us little clubs have to do business these days.

We've already got the experienced players (Hall, Moxey and Wright) as the spine of the team.

The Argyle fan I work with says they had high hopes for him but he hasn't developed as they expected. I think a season of actually playing real men's football will see if he can fulfill that potential.

Similarly I think that Koszela will step up this year. He's scored absolutely bucket loads of goals at youth level and Johnson clearly rates him as he's given him another 2 year contract

Lolos will do well for Torquay I think. He has played some games for our first team at the end of the season. Has played for Crystal Palace and Olympiakos.

Tom Lapslie is an excellent signing by the way, surprised he couldn't get a League Two deal - half expected him to go to Swindon until McGreal left.

He's a proper tenacious, battling midfielder, the sort who can go unnoticed at times until they're not in the side.

How come he left ColU?

I’m not under or overwhelmed, I am whelmed. The core of last season’s successful squad is still in place, we’ve added some youth who may turn out to be good quality. Recent history tell us that Notts County and Stockport fans will be creaming their pants when they announce the signing of Keelan O’Connell and Ali Omar respectively in two years time.

He missed a lot of last season with injury and we've got Brendan Wiredu in that sort of battling role now who is technically a better all-rounder I think, so he isn't as needed any more. I certainly would have been happy to keep him on, but we're generally well stocked in central midfield.

I was a bit surprised that Lolos was not offered a deal by us, but I think Lowe put a rocket up his back side and was not too impressed with the response. That said I liked the look of Klaidi, and could see him scoring goals. Dry different player to Randell, but a decent striker. he scored a hatful at youth and reserve football, let’s hope he can do the same at first team level. You may remember when we released him I said that he might fit with you. If he gets his attitude right I think there is a player there at FL level.

Jerry what was the thinking about announcing all seven on the same day? they presumably did not all sign on the same day?
