Official confirmation of Drury to Eastleigh.

Cost us £100k twelve months ago, so for us to let him go for nothing I'm assuming his wages were astronomical.

Shame it didn't work out for him this time around, I properly loved him when he was first here. Legs have gone so he'll never be the dynamic force he was in 2010, but he still has a lot of quality and should be too good for this level still. Hope he does well.

All joking aside, that's an absolutely cracking signing for Eastleigh because apparently he has 6 dogs and a hamster who are all willing to attend games next season.

There's no such thing as free transfers apparently. You probably got £250k for him. Seems to be the going rate for "free transfers".

I'm probably in a minority, but as Drury didn't chase around beating his chest and hyping up the crowd, too many fans didn't take to him. To my mind he was the best FOOTBALLER at the club by several miles. He is skilful, good control, and knows where the next pass is going before he gets the ball. Two problems: as a footballer he was on a different level to the majority of his teammates and too many just couldn't read what he was doing quickly enough, and as a result it was difficult to try and fit him in to a team playing a style that John Still prefers (so why did he spend £100,000 on him?). I totally refute any suggestions that he was lazy, as anyone who really watched him closely could see - racing around at top speed beating your chest does not make you a good player.
Negatives: no pace, not a good tackler, nor good in the air. With more pace he would have been playing at a much higher level.
Just my opinion of course, and I'm sure that others will disagree.

All joking aside, we made his Hamster assistant groundsman at the Bowls club, that's was the clincher.

Former Chester Striker Ollie McBurnie has signed for Swansea from Bradford for a undisclosed fee.
There was us thinking we may get him back on loan again. It does us no harm though when all of these loanees come here and do well, then go on to do well afterwards too. McBurnie last season, Matty Taylor the year before.

We've given a professional contract to Academy winger Dan Sweeney after he spent the end of last season training with the senior squad and has impressed in pre-season friendlies so far.

If you can get him playing as part of a team that will be a devastating signing for you and will give FGR some variety in the way they play.

Far too good in an attacking sense for this level, but doesn't seem to believe in his defensive duties. Should still earn you more points than he costs you whilst on the pitch.

Would love to know the fee but suspect it's nowhere near what we accepted last year.

If Charlie Macdonald stays fit at Boreham wood then that's a very good signing for them.

KMB, fantastic potential let down by a stinking attitude. Can't say I'm fussed he's gone.

Marsh-Brown signs on a 2 year deal, with an option for a 3rd. No fee announced, probably not the 6 figures offered last year though.

Hopefully this turns out well, seems a risky signing.

A potentially very good signing at that level. Big, strong, physically quick and holds up the ball well. Not great in the air and get's caught offside 5 times a match. Get him confident and he should do well. I'd have kept him in the National League, put it that way.

KMB will blow up in FGR's hands within a season. I presume he's on decent money there as otherwise he wouldn't have moved to a 'small' team (I mean that with the greatest of respect, but he's the type of player who would have that exact kind of arrogant view of FGR). He won't be motivated for the sake of furthering the club and will cause chaos as soon as the slightest rumour of a move to a team higher up in the pyramid presents itself.

He's incredibly talented and will win points for you on his own, but you'll have to pander to him every step of the way lest you piss him off and he starts sulking. I don't think you'll be fixing or changing any of his ways unfortunately.

I suppose the hope is he does so well before he blows up that he either gets us in a strong position to go up or at least does enough to go for a decent fee. Pennock obviously feels that he can handle him, although his man-management of players like Norwood last season suggest not.

I don't like the idea of a player being pandered to, it's never a good thing for morale and given that Pennock up until now has tried to instil a strong work ethic into the club, I'm not sure how Marsh-Brown will fit into that.

Will definitely be interesting to see how this turns out.

Funny you should say that. Norwood wasn't exactly complimentary on Twitter about your manager/medical department.

What should be said about KMB, is that before he was listed, which the club chose to do to try and get some money for him, I'd not heard of any off-field issues with him. Things played out how they did and certainly could have been done better, but he was one of our best attacking players the year before last.

Forest Green have got themselves a player that should be in League One with the talent that he has, but is Conference level because of how he applies himself. If he feels like he has a point to prove and that can unlock that desire to work hard and play for the team, then it will be a great signing.

Why does that not surprise me. The bloke's a tool. Him and 'Brabs' are the kind of characters to get on really well though.
