Yeah, busy day down here. Bowman has gone to Gateshead for an undisclosed fee (including a sell on incase he smashes 30 goals next year). Youngster Levi Ives is off to Bristol City - a deal no doubt heavily incentivised by add on clauses.

Exodus Geohaghon has agreed a one-year deal.

Arguably the worst player to ever wear a Cheltenham shirt (and that includes players who played for us when we were non-league before). How 3 managers last season kept playing him I'll never know. He's got a bit of pace and..........that's it.

I feel for Ebbsfleet fans after this signing.

I'd imagine he will only be cover. We have Joe Howe, Aiden Palmer and Lloyd Harrington who can all play left back, not to mention young Karn Miller-Neave who, at 17, looks an exciting prospect. Palmer and Harrington have been recovering from long-term injuries so B-B has been signed to aid us in that department. As I said, he had a brilliant season at Farnborough so this is probably his level. Plus he knows McMahon from his time at Farnborough.

:fl::fl::fl::fl: I can't wait till you play us, he's one of the worse players to play for us and he only managed 4 games. Don't know why you signed him considering in the past few years he's been kicked out the Worcester team for refusing to play and ended up playing for Stourbridge Town:doh:. He also has a habit of leaving clubs very early on so he'll be gone by November.

To be honest he doesn't half have a throw on him though. He launches that ball like it's nothing.

We've signed Braham - Barrett as 'cover'. I seem to recall him having a brilliant season at Farnborough before moving on. What's he been like since, Macc/Cheltenham fans? Shite I presume?

He was ok for us, good at attacking but poor defensively. I would have thought he'd be a solid player at that level though.

We have paid 10k and given a 2 year deal to bowman which is rare for us. Tranmere also offered him a deal

Mixed feelings that Bowman's gone, 19 goals for us in all comps last season and is a decent striker overall. But if we're getting money in for him and it's freeing up wages then fair play, plus Cox has a striker lined up to replace him already apparently.

Be surprised if it's a real 2 year deal, Shaw was announced as a two year deal last season, but it turned out to be a 1 year deal with a trigger clause for another year if he played so many games.

We massively needed another striker, so hopefully he will do the business for us.

Exodus does take an excellent throw in. The problem comes when he re-enters the field of play...

Ashley Grimes is talented, but petulant and bone-idle. Will probably pip Andy Haworth in next season's Primadonna Stakes at Barrow by a jutting lower lip...

By contrast, Doe for whoever Borehamwood are and Odejayi for Counteh look to be good signings - both have been impressive against Dale in recent seasons.

We've had many of this sort of player before - nomadic sorts who've often struggled to really find a club that works for them. Examples would be Guy Branston, CHris Zebroski, Rene Howe. All three resurrected their careers, especially Branston, who was excellent. I'm hoping Geohaghon is similar.

edit: we have a 15% sell on for Bowman too, so if he bangs in 30 and you sell him on, we'll get a portion.

Alty have signed Anthony Griffith after he was released by Carlisle.

Sinnott worked with him at Port Vale. No idea if it's a good signing or not, but we'll see.

In his only game for Harrogate (against Barrow) he was hauled off at half-time because he was terrible.
Carlisle fans rank him among the worst ever to wear their shirt. He's big. He's crap.

Oh, and he also has international commitments! (Montserrat) Apparently Curle didn't tell anybody about that so other teams wouldn't expect his absence.

We have signed Sefton Gonzales, a forward from Clitheroe who impressed everyone in a friendly against County last week.
That completes our forward line of giants, not confident they will provide enough goals but will provide a lot of presence up top, that is for sure.

What else do you think we need now?

Couple more centre halves (one preferably who can play full back as well) and another central midfielder it looks to me on paper.

Yeah the strikers don't fill me with much confidence.

Apparently Young doesn't like to have one striker who will bang the goals in incase he gets injured, but maybe Chester fans could clarify that? If that's true then even though I have nothing but faith in Young I still think that's a ridiculous and quite daft thing to do, every single manager in the world will say you'll need a 20 goal a season striker to be successful but it worked for him at Chester so we'll see, but from what we saw today we might struggle for goals, but I won't look too much into friendlies.

I think we ideally need a centre half and a back up right back.

We've signed Connor Hughes from Hyde.

14 goals from the wing in a god awful team and only 22 - looks another good prospect!

I suppose it depends what he wants to do with Lees but I think you're right. Central midfield we have 5 players if we are including Churchman so I doubt we will see anybody coming in unless we find a taker for him. We just missed out on Hughes so maybe an additional winger, but I reckon that will only be if there is someone available who Young thinks is better than Evans and could come straight. into the team. Oh yeah and we still need a back up Goalkeeper.

We know Young likes to wheel and deal during the season, if it's not working upfront I'm sure we will see changes reasonably quickly. Considering the unwanted players with silly contracts that he has within his budget, I think he has done really well to get together this squad which looks good on paper. Hopefully the likes of Glover will get sick and tired of traveling with the squad, sitting in the stands and agree on a fair settlement.

Difficult one, in the Evo-Stik North we had Wilde who bagged us 36 goals in the season (from 43 games), but then he got injured the season after so the goals came throughout the team more during the next two promotions. I think our top scorers those two seasons got around 14 goals each time, but others wouldn't be far behind that total either. For example, winning the Conference North scoring 103 goals, with only 14 of them coming from our top scorer, Nathan Jarman.

I wouldn't be concerned about it myself, I still think one of Youngy's undoings in the Conference Prem was his unfamiliarity with a transfer window, before that he'd often successfully bring somebody in at short notice, if required.

Agreed to sign for us then followed the extra money on the day he was due to put pen to paper.

Fair enough, can't imagine we can offer a huge amount more money than yourselves.

May be more to do with Aspin being good friends with Gary Lowe and him offering advice and the fact we're in a higher division.
