I didn't realise Constable was so popular.

Not sure if there are any Borehamwood fans on here, but they have signed striker Zane Banton on loan from us.

He has rarely played for us but has been highly rated, although I havent heard too much about him for a while now. Thought he would go to a Conference South side as he wasnt exactly rattling them in for Hemel last season at that level. He is very small also so not sure if he is ready for this level yet.

B-Wood have also now signed Clovis Kamdjo on loan from us. Not sure why we've allowed this tbh, we're already short enough on midfielders as it is.

Banton's a strange one, lively but shrugged off the ball quite easily when we played Hemel last season. I'll be surprised if he steps up to the National League.

So that must surely mean Pipe and Kelly in midfield tonight, which I would be happy with as I think they are different enough to work well together, but another rejig of the defence.

Yep Kelly, another one who AP left out for no reason, might actually get to play in his best position. Problem is our defence will be weakened and we'll have no cover at all in midfield, so if Pipe or Kelly get injured or sent off we'll be in trouble. Kamdjo was ideally suited to a game like this, 100% committed, gets stuck in and capable of scoring the odd spectacular goal. Carter might sign in time, but it's asking a lot throwing him straight in.

I really don't get some of AP's decisions.

By my reckoning from our squad of 23 we have 16 players available tonight, the other seven are either out on loan, suspended or injured. I hope we do see Kelly back in midfield, where most supporters believe he is at his best, but I share your concerns about cover if he or Pipe get injured. I think the latest on the Carter situation is that he isn't signing for us.

Torquay have signed Durrell Berry until the end of the season. He signed for us on a non-contract about 12 months ago and was excellent for us, and left after 12 games as he earned a contract in L2 with Cheltenham.

Seems history has repeated itself as he signed for Alfreton on a non-contract a few days ago, but only played one game before we've offered him a contract. Very happy with this as he's a great right back and it will allow us to play a back four.

Also added an 18 year old centre-back on loan from MK Dons. A defence is a much better way to spend money than a director of football, so positive news for us.

Well that was short of sweet! Means we are really sort on Numbers now as for some reason we have decided to loan a couple of players to Matlock

Darren Carter did sign for us today, and played this evening, he looked pretty good. We have also signed a keeper called Dale Eve, who looked well dodgy in the warm up, fortunately he spent the evening warming the bench.

We've just announced the signing of Callum Ball - former St Mirren striker, don't know much about him but we desperately needed a big lad up top.

also Herve Pepe N'Goma has resigned from Nuneaton after leaving us during preseason.

Very happy with both signings.

add to that the loan signings of Cedric Kipre & Arron Hassell from Leicester City, we're finally getting some depth to the team now.

It would seem that Boringwood are rapidly becoming a side of Barnet rejects. 7 or 8 at the moment.

Meikle was good when Mansfield went up, if my memory serves me right. Wasn't the first name on the team sheet but I think Cox used to rotate him with their other wingers. Also think I remember reading that he never really did the biz in League Two. Wasn't aware he had been at York. Potentially a decent signing, if he can settle back in this division.

Seem to remember he was a typical conference winger; pacy but generally no end product.

few Oxford fans think he's decent, will probably cause us problems
Aye, seen his goals against Grimsby in the cup last year on youtube. Made enough sub appearances for them, I prefer these types who already have a bit of experience rather than premier league kids who have never really played before. They sound less glamorous at first but usually prove more effective.
