Portsmouth with a clear offside goal looks to have won this in extra time. Without mentioning the blatant red card and missed penalty. 3 games running, both League and Cup we've had clear decisions go against us. Nothing contentious, just down right incompetent.

I thought that. Anyone provided a reason why it wasn't given as offside?
Two deflected golas and a dodgy offside, someone didn't want you to take your eye off the league...:dk:

Yes, miles off. The officials seemed pretty incompetent from start to finish, but that's football at this level I'm afraid. So many obvious decisions just not given.

My first thought with the Mnoga challenge was "He's gone". Then it was "oh right, looks like the ref is playing advantage, he may get away with just a yellow". Then I realised he didn't see it as a foul. It was one of those challenges that would have been seen as absolutely fine 20 years ago, but regularly gets a red these days as "possibly injury causing". Very lucky boy.

Still, I think over the 120 mins you were the better team for 60, and we were better for the other 60. Pens may have been apt.

Yet in the Premier league Bamford gets given offside for basically pointing where he wants the ball.

I actually felt as played; you were the better side.

It's just frustrating because the above is without factoring in those decisions.

One of the last games on tv tonight, BT, so I suppose the sense potential for an upset? We've had our fair share of giant killings, so know you can take nothing for granted. They're artificial turf means that nobody with reoccuring risks will play, so unlikely to see the return of Holmes on glorious wide screen. Imagine we may start Chukwumeka, so hope this doesn't put him in the window to be poached for cheap like Toney was... maybe an outside chance of Sean Dyches son seeing action.

Oxford City doing themselves justice here tonight so far, we are so shit in the air defensively.

Another long trip to Bristol. They don't seem to score that many, so might have a chance of an upset. Fans raised £2k in less than an hour for an overnight stay.

Let's hope it ends up a better score line than the last time we were there in the FA Cup...2 down after 5 minutes and 4 down at HT!

This is embarrassing by Northampton, only Hoskin's looks semi-arsed. You know it's bad when the BT commentators are taking the piss.

A lot of our defenders are not League standard from what I've seen for them so far. But Oxford City doing really well.

Fuck me, going to hail mary it on Holmes taking us to victory by himself, and we'll probably injury him now for the League.

Well, hard to argue with that. I know he's been given a shoe-string budget because of Covid, but some of Curle's defensive recruitment is not up to league standard.

I thought your team were an embarrassment tonight -- God knows what your fans thought.? The only guy who came out of it with any credit was Ricky Holmes who is still class. I reckon your in for a long hard season. Is the difference in Divisions 3 & 4 that great ?

Hmm, we've had a few similar performances against teams (Charlton, Hull, Peterborough) to suggest that the issue is with us, they're just mainly been against well resourced sides rather than non-league opposition. We've also had a few games where we've strung a few passes together and got a few points. We were missing a few of the better perfomers in Sowerby, Adams and Sheehan as well, but a lot of that played, particular Racic, Horsfall, Martin, have been as bad as that all year round really. We're conceding on average 2 goals a game, and sometimes we've scored a few to make up for it but was no chance of that tonight.

The play-offs were probably a poisoned chalice for us to be honest, we wouldn't have stayed there if the season had finished normally, and the decent bargains we'd found were picked off by other teams after they get exposed on national TV. With covid pretty much destroying our only income, there isn't really the income available to be competitive and replace them, so some of the players who were bench-warmers in League Two last year like Smith and Martin have been pulled in to try and play in League One. Hoskins was an average League Two player, and the reason he's been here donkey years was because he just about good enough to be a football league player but not good enough to be poached. The fact that he's now considered our danger man before the introduction of Holmes speak a lot about the quality we've got at the moment.

Got to say that Oxford City performed well, passed it around a bit, decent movement. Only really lacking a clinical edge up front or it could have been far worse.

Playing in the papa john stuffed crusted trophy thing. Made 9 changes as we’re already through. Come back from 2 down to be drawing at half time, Powell and Zanzala scoring. Youngster Regan Griffiths really impressed 1st half, very good on the ball and super assist for Powell.

Never had a Pappa John’s pizza, am I missing much? Do they do a calzone?

we have made 11 changes and may be playing a slightly different formation as we have 3 strikers on the field.
