We’ve made changes, Copps is playing alongside Liam Ravenhill so he now has played for the Rovers with both father and son. On another note Wolves have fielded a £35m striker and that U21 goalkeeper John Ruddy, ( why field a 34 year old when you have the chance to blood a young keeper), everything that his wrong with this shit sounding shit run piss pot trophy

Lost 4-3 Powell got two which will be good for his confidence. Tracy looked a handful for Shrewsbury, I believe he’s on loan from Spurs, looks a good player. Both defences looked very shoddy but lots of changes so hard to draw to much from it.

Away at Plymouth for us on Saturday.

Appleton has said we're making changes and giving minutes to those who haven't had too many. We rested both full backs, McGrandles and Anderson at Swindon so they'll be back in and I suspect the likes of Archibald will get more minutes along with Scully, Edun and Gotts.

Congrats to Plymouth who progress through the R3.

Much changed line-up but performance was pretty good, attacking play certainly better than Tuesday night.

Created lots but couldn't stick the ball in the onion bag.

Plymouth's second was a lovely volley, one to keep an eye out for.

Nice to see Ryan Lowe has been watching the Cowleys with the keeper 'injury' after 30 mins.

Whilst a shame to go out, lots of positives from the fringe players - Edun and Gotts had their best games.

I thought 26 (Anderson?) was very good and nearly all your most dangerous attacks came through him. We rode our luck a bit, but you can see why you are towards the top of the league.

Home game please in the draw on Monday, ideally against non-league or the irons would be nice.

for any Rochdale fans out there you need to watch the highlights of Wigan v Chorley (round 1) and the Chorley win at Peterborough today. Pay particular notice to Alex Newby's twin brother Elliot - and don't be surprised if your team tries to sign him in January.
It should be easy for you to work out which one he is - they're identical twins... and he's the one who hits the post after making a run from his own half.

Great stuff from Chorley. It wasn't a backs-to-the-wall, hanging on type of performance, they really went at Posh and had the better chances overall. Second-bottom in National League Two! A goal down after 2 mins, and they missed a pen.

There seem to be fewer Cup upsets these days so it was great to see that this can still happen.

Beat Carlisle 2-1 should have been more comfortable than it was but into the third round where the spectre of Oldham awaits

Away to Shrewsbury in the Pizza Cup tomorrow.

We're down to 13/14 players so I can't see any risks being taken ahead of Sunderland on Saturday and doubtful we'll fill the bench unless we fill the gaps with U18's.

Personally I'd play the U18's plus the few first teamers who need minutes but MA hasn't yet really played many of the yoof admittedly the Man City game was a day before the FA Youth Cup tie. Would like to see Long, Cann, Sault et al.

It saddens me every time these pizza matches come round. If this absolute shitshow shambles can survive a global pandemic, we’ve no chance of getting rid of the thing.

Opportunity for Fleetwood to redeem themselves against Blackpool tonight. Tbh after a miserable ( first half in particular ) performance at the weekend I am not holding my breath. There will be a few young lads given a chance and lets hope they take with both hands, or even feet

Our game at Hull went to penalties. Nervy affair but WE’RE OUT! Buzzing. Getting a Dominos to celebrate.

Shrews 1 - 4 Imps

Pleasure to watch that, played some really good stuff and could and should have won by more. Nice for Elbouzedi (who played really well) and Howorth (previously of Cefn Druids) to get their first goals.

Nice to bank £20K, will help in January.

Made 10 changes, competed vs a decent Hull team, made no substitutes, no new injuries and out of a pointless trophy.

we might eventually get a midweek off now.

We also made 10 changes, should have been 11 except for warm up late injury. We were poor 1st half, average second. Crewe were odd, better team in 1st half then as soon as we got on top in second they went in to their shells and basically played for penalties, no ambition and lots of time wasting. This turned out to be a mistake as they were terrible at penalties, and we were slightly less terrible. Unlike others on here, I'm glad we stayed in as it's the only chance left to give fringe players some game time.

Its always nice to get a win against local neighbours, the academy players acquitted themselves well and while many will decry this competition its great for giving youth the chance to stand up and make their mark

Some clubs might not need the money but we are certainly glad of it !

We can't seem to lose and get out of the damn thing. If we win the delayed Salford final and then win it again this season then surely we get to keep it at least?

That's nothing... we rested our entire first team, plus substitutes, youth team, Management and stewards.

Accrington for us tonight in the EFL Cup.

Despite now having no game on Saturday, we'll still be making changes. We're a little hampered by three players isolating, a couple of injuries and one cup-tied so we probably can't make as many changes as we'd normally do.

Much like against Peterborough at the weekend, we'll have no out and out striker to play.

Comfortable 4-0 win for us against Accrington, which really should have been nearer 10-0.

Four subs on the bench and only one of those was a senior player.
