Ben Garner a coach from West Brom is the latest to turn our job down and Michael Collins our U18s boss has shortened to odds on favourite with the announcement due any hour so looks like Edin has found a yes man coach.

I’d give Ferguson a chance if he came here as Donny fans seem to despise every manager that they’ve ever had unless he’s got them playing total football in the Championship. Expectation levels are ridiculous there for what is essentially a non league club with a lot of money. I fear for McCall if he gets the job.

This is trolling surely? Also a non-league club? Would you like to have a think about that comment? We’ve spent less time in non-league than Grimsby, Lincoln, Luton etc

The non league bit was a wind up but most of what I said had truth. Ferguson got you promoted at a canter last season and consolidated your position this season in a league where pretty much everyone above you is bigger than you and/or has more money. Yet it’s not even indffference, you all hate him. It’s wierd. Parky did the same for us and he’s probably regarded as one of our best ever managers.

As I say McCall is a decent coach but he’s not a miracle worker and he won’t get you promoted so I fear he will be another one on the scrap pile if he goes there.

May as well continue to hijack this thread... Our new head coach isn’t Ferguson, after 6 weeks of looking we’ve appointed our U18’s coach with Greg Abbott and another random assisting. Absolutely gutting appointment imo, the general feeling towards the current chairman/set up is toxic and the club stinks right now, this just another nail in the coffin. 6 weeks of rejection from anyone half decent unwilling to be told what to do and we end up with a nobody yes man from within.

He wasn't very good for us but it was a time of transition. Good luck to him though.

Two theories at the moment, one is multiple people have rejected the role as Edin is too difficult to work with, I like the other one that Edin knew he was going to hire internally on the cheap and stretched it out for 6 weeks to try and increase season ticket sales as he knew no one would buy one after the announcement, this theory would help explain why James Mason resigned abruptly last night. Very intriguing and exciting, unlike our football in the coming season no doubt.

High expectations of being competitive and playing football you enjoy watching not winning titles but then my expectations are less than yours given you should be in the top half of the championship given the size of the club but I suppose your sky dollars ran out a long time ago

True but his record at Peterborough similar size club and in League 1 you could understand why they went with him. You would have to be aware of the other candidates which we aren’t to fully judge.
