Just getting my feet under the table here for next season. :ds:

I can recognise your optimism but still a bit early in season to start chirping away.
From memory it is only the Champions who are auto promoted plus one from the next six in table.
Did not Hartlepool get promoted last season from 4th in table?
And again from memory I remember you bragging each year that your team would be promoted!!!!!!!!!!
However I will concede that currently this is Halifax' best position at this stage of season since club was founded in 2008. And that for a newly formed club is good progress.

And lets be honest many away fans enjoy watching their team play at your rugby ground.

Bit harsh to call it their rugby ground.

The Shay has always been a Football and Speedway venue foremost. The rugby team played at Thrum Hall for over 100 years before ending up sharing with the football team

Yeah, definitely not a rugby ground. We've been playing Halifax at the Shay for over a century. First meeting was in the Football League Division Three North in November 1921. It's been a rough couple of decades for Halifax fans. I for one would be delighted to see them have some success, and I hope to visit the Shay once again for a FL match.

You'll also remember the season I bragged we were going to be relegated. And we were. I KNOW my team. :bdick:

Same here pal, an afternoon at Forest Green or Harrogate is no substitute for playing a REAL football club, is it. :ds:

Thank you mate, The Shay was dug out of the earth by hundreds of Town fans in preparation for our debut in the Football League, WE didn't have no sugar daddy to buy us a shiny new stadium from Ikea, and the rugby club are only there because they LIED their way in. :bdick:

As expected our Football League Brothers have been nothing but supportive on this thread, the only dissenter being one of those spiteful Tin Potters, who will NEVER belong here and a rogue Hartlepool fan.:ds:

Truly hope you get back into the football league. The only other West Yorkshire team most Bantams have no animosity toward whatsoever, unlike the puppies and Beeston.

Used to love my Saturday evenings at The Shay watching the Dukes Speedway team of the 70s as a young lad

I played cricket a number of times at Thrum Hall, that was a few years ago though...

Think it will more likely be Chesterfield and Wrexham tbh, especially as Wrexham will probably spend big in January. Stockport have a bit to spend too so might come on strong. Grimsby and Notts not out of it either.

Hard for the smaller clubs like Bromley, FC Halifax, Boreham Wood or Solihull to keep up the pace.

The Doc would make an ‘interesting’ addition to this forum though….

A section of our support would likely spontaneously combust if it turned out to be Wrexham and Stockport, though Chesterfield and one of those two would also be unpopular. At least a Dover promotion looks a tad unlikely.

Genuine Halifax supporters have two huge crosses to bear:
[1] B2TF
[2] Their team have already lost before the first whistle.
I've been at games where the referee has been loudly booed even before start of game and given grief throughout the 90 minutes of play. Obviously they are always going to lose the 50/50 decisions. Referees are only human.

My money would be on Chesterfield as champions, as things stand now The play-offs are too much of a lottery to predict. But, please, not Boreham Wood. Stockport have to be in with a chance, more than Wrexham, this season at least. Good recruitment and that.

The 2 that go up will be any 2 from Stockport Wrexham Chesterfield and Notts County.
All the others including us, no chance.

Stockport for sure but Wrexham were always good craic, mind they've gone all Billy big bollocks now.

That forum is disgusting reading with the inflated egos of Chessie, Wrexham and Stockport. Not like the old days.

My money is on Chesterfield and Stockport to go up. Can't see an inaugural football league appearance for FC Halifax.

I'd be happy to see Wrexham back up here but some of our Twitterati are still seething about the takeover. They seem to be bitter that it wasn't us while at the same time denying that they were ever interested in us.

We had some proper ding dongs in the day, didn't we! We remember too that City always had our back when we needed a hand up. :hail:

Nobody cares what you think Chris. Let me remind you again, NOBODY thinks your Mickey Mouse club belongs here, NOBODY thinks you earned the RIGHT to be here, NOBODY respects you. :ds:
