Only 8k at Elland Road tonight. Shit game and the same fixture as a week ago but still. Might as well offer cheap tickets and at least try get some through the door.

A decent 390 following from Reading to take Brighton's attendance above 6000.

Nothing less than both Preston and us deserved.

None of the first choice (despite pulling up no trees themselves) are going to be worried any time soon. For the most part, if any of that lot want to get into our first 11, they need to take a good look at themselves. They can have no complaints about not getting in the team.

Although the first half formation experiment from Howe was weird and set a bad tone.

Makeinok with a perfect hat trick, just give him the Ballon D'or now.

I don't think we'd have created a half decent chance if we were still playing now.

Never going to pull of an upset if you don't...upset them? Giving Coutinho and Firmino the freedom of Derby was always going to end badly. Keogh doing his best Play Off Final impression to set up their first didn't help either.

Oh well. It was always going to be a loss but to put in such an abject performance makes it twice as bad. First game of the season for me and it'll be my last for a while, certainly don't miss it on that showing, not renewing my season ticket is becoming a bit of a godsend. Only 26k there too tonight, looks like I'm not the only one falling out of love with it.

People filming every corner and free kick on their phones can fuck off anall.

Would still rather have won on Saturday :dis:

Aye, would rather the 3 points in the league over the cup too.

After making 8 changes from the game on Saturday, I was never expecting to match the performance of last weekend. Still losing 2-0 away to Newcastle is no embarrassment, and with some positives like Silvio playing his first game back from injury we can't really complain.

Yeah in a repeat of the weekend we were just pressed a lot more than we're used to at home but unlike the weekend, we settled in to the game a lot quicker.

We made at least 5/6 changes with Murphy, Lazaar, Yedlin, Gouffran and Darlow all starting so it's good to see that the squad players were a marked improvement from Saturday.

As with any cup run, I'm happy we're through but under the circumstances I would have swapped results had you asked me before Saturday.

Oh and god knows how we have Ritchie. We're knackered if he gets injured.

Looking like a strong climax to the competition this year. Best we can hope for is an average Championship team at home...we're not going to win it with the strength of the teams left so might as well just have a fun fixture!

Fulham must hate us after a 90th minute winner last year too

Nice one. First time in the last 16 of a cup in my lifetime!

Any draw's a good one at this stage, get a Championship club and it's a great chance to make the quarters

Bristol City must be setting records for scoring last minute goals. Incredible, especially after conceding so many last min goals last season.

Norwich at home. Dull and we'll lose. Belting.

The only positive is that if we did manage to squeeze through, a lot of big sides will go out given they're playing each other.

Well a few of the big boys will be headed out with that draw.

Hull at home. Winnable

Norwich are better than us so it's a game with about a 10k attendance and a 75% chance we'll go out. There weren't any easy games left in anyway but y'know.

Great to get through, especially without the need for extra time.

Saying that is there a more uninspiring draw than Hull!

In all fairness mate every club left are probably better either way you've got a great chance of a quarter final. Then draw bristol city/hull or newcastle/pne at home who knows that's the way I'd look at it

Mandatory shite draw as per usual, but we're at home to a side we may well beat. Content with that.

Confident that this cup has our name on it now. In 12 months time I'll be in the away end at the San Siro for a Europa League tie.
