I love the comments on these games. Always references to how many first teamers are missing to offset the embarrassment of a defeat or to laud what a brilliant bunch of youngsters you have if they happen to win.

Come on, guys. Nobody really gives a fuck.

Grimsby you bunch of knobs, Hartigan was one of two players that started tonight that actually is in our league 11.

Dislocated shoulder he will be a big miss for a few weeks, fortunately midfield is the only area we have decent depth.

Fuck fuck fuck!

I was hoping we’d be out tonight so we don’t risk any first team players in this once great but now shit competition.

I’d still play the youth team in our final group game, but as we’re still in, like tonight it will be a mixture of players and youth players. So plenty of opportunity for more costly injuries.

Lost another first teamer to injury tonight. Hate it.
your final group game is against us though - ok it's the pizza cup, but lots of Carlisle fans wouldn't accept a defeat to Barrow whatever the competition is.

Has it been confirmed that's how long it is? That's what McAtee's been out with all season, needed an operation for it, his was pretty bad though and he played a full game after popping it back in on the opening game and should have had the op last season by all counts.

Our squad team beat Suttons squad team seven changes each. We should've been out of sight by the end of the first half, we created so many clear chances. Young Chelsea loanee Jayden Wareham scored two of the goals and should've had a hatrick.

Having said that, Sutton punished our one and only mistake in the first half to keep themselves in the game.

Second half was more even, Sutton brought on Craig Eastmond to give their midfield something more, both sides had a few chances to score. Tom James scored a peach of a free kick at the very end to seal the win after Eastmond got himself sent off for a second booking.

Deserved win for us I thought, first half we should've been at least three goals ahead we cut through Sutton quite a few times.
I have to a agree, Orient could have scored six in the first half.

26 year old ex Barcelona and Juventus midfielder and full Brazil international Arthur playing for Liverpool u21s at Rochdale tonight.

But it’s all about developing young English talent right?

This format with B/21 teams needs scrapped with immediate effect.
And Ben Nelson wasn't playing for us tonight because he's already on England U19 duty.
The competition is a farce and I haven't watched a game since they put Premier League sides in it. But it is funny to see a €70m Brazilian international losing to the second string of he worst team in the EFL.

I don’t think you understand how much we despise this competition in its current format.

Maybe because your fan base haven’t experienced what the competition used to be like, so don’t know any different?

But honestly, 90% of our fans couldn’t give two fucks what the scoreline is against you in this trophy.

I've always viewed posting the amount of changes as a way of showing how much of a shit you don't give, like posting your low attendances.

768 Grimsby fans divided by 8 changes to starting lineup gives us a couldn't-give-a-toss-score home score of 96.

Obviously away scores are going to be lower, but everyone post their team's score please.

Stopped going away games after the pandemic.....We deserved what we got
Why?

I can understand you not fancying a trip to Birkenhead against one of your bogey teams, but giving up away games entirely seems a bit drastic,

Did not miss the getting in at 2am and working in the morning midweek
Saturday again takes most of your week-end at away games....I follow has changed it for me
Can be home at 10pm midweek games, and Saturdays i can now watch the game and the horses have 5/6 pints and the 5.30 premier game be home for just after 7pm and only 20/30 quid lighter
Still enjoy the home games and i have not given them up entirely. Though as yet i have not been tempted back
You are indeed one of our bogey teams and i have been to Birkenhead on numerous occasions never minded it as it is fairly local

Our game vs Leeds got called as they have too many players away on international duty. Just when I thought this competition couldn't get worse, now these premier league clubs can get games called off.

Londons a complete shithole

1. It’s not a town.
2. It’s a sprawling, internationally-significant metropolis with many varying qualities. For every shithole part, there is something grandiose, beautiful or ordinary.
3. I don’t live there.

But other than that, zing you got me.

We have just announced that the rearranged league game with Crewe will be moved again because the Man City u21 game takes precedent, and they have picked that date to play is due to other commitments.

If that's not a major red flag about B teams then I don't know what is.

can't be bothered starting a new thread for our county cup match today - so putting it in here as county cups are about as popular with most EFL 2 fans as the EFL Trophy (Pizza Cup) is.
Won 3-0 away at a young Fleetwood side today - the interesting point is that Benni Smalls-Braithwaite who is in contention to replace the suspended Josh Kay in the next 2 league games started his 1st match for us and promptly got a hat-trick....

I wouldn't have thought he'd be in the starting line up - he could hardly get a game on loan in the Northern Premier. Jordan Stevens has looked much more up for it in pre-season and limited game time, or Moyo to start with Gordon out wide.
