I do also hope cheltenham get someone decent for the tv etc, they’re a decent club ran well.

They’ve pushed towards the top the last few seasons despite (with respect) being one of the smaller clubs in the division, goes to show how it can happen if things fall into place

well there we go! happy days, tv money and the lot.

Would be lying if said wasn’t jealous but delighted you got someone decent

Good draw for Cheltenham, nice karma for them after missing out on Man City last season after losing to us.

A bit of bite for our manager in our tie.

Six years at Bournemouth and they made him redundant with a miniscule pay off! Probably get more from Asda.

Be a bloody tough game down there and people will be looking for an upset now. As long as we turn up and give it a go I'll be happy.

Made up for Cheltenham. It will interesting to see if City can cope with Tozer's tosses.

It's ok I suppose.

My first ever Cheltenham game was against a Manchester City XI in August 1994. We lost 3-2 having gone 3-0 down and scoring two late goals. I don't think the game will be that close this time.

Then the club go and muddy things by doing their own one - how they couldn't just piggy-back onto the fans' one I really don't know.

To clarify, I'm not saying the club shouldn't do their own thing, but it creates an unnecessary confusion and could undo a lot of the good will we've got from the City fans.

4th Round

1611140383874.png

4th round this weekend with two of our League 2 clubs involved: Crawley & Cheltenham.
I cannot see either club progressing nor non-league Chorley.
But we do have the luxury of watching Cheltenham v Man City on the BBC.

My forecasts for 5th round:

Wolves
Southampton
Bournemouth
Swansea
Norwich
Brighton
Sheff U
WHU
Man City
Chelsea
Fulham
Leicester
Man U
Everton
Tottenham

No news regarding whether the Crawley game will be played on Saturday.

No indication of how many players/staff affected. No indication of when the isolation started (news was posted Tuesday so I presume Monday but could have been Saturday as no one at the club over the weekend). That would mean a best case scenario of isolation finishing Monday which means, as far as I can tell, the game has to be postponed.

Can we get some tests back double quick? A negative test on Friday for enough players would mean the game could go ahead...I think.

The lack of information from the club is par for the course with Crawley. I dont think its any of my business as to which players are ill or tested positive but some indication would be nice...3 players have symptoms, a further 3 have tested positive and 6 more are in their bubble sort of thing.

Casey

Edit: I have just made those numbers up and they are in no way indicative of the scale of the issue at Crawley

We're going to get slapped all over the park - it's going to be horrible to watch, but at least we make a mint out of it.

Bournemouth v Crawley definetly off on Saturday.

DOFs Erdem interview with sky sports being aired.

He says we have enough fit players to fulfil the fixture on Saturday but the regulations in place will not allow it.

The team is having testing on Friday and Sunday and, if no other players test positive, it is hoped the match can be rearranged for Tuesday.

We never turn up for these games (Fulham in 2004 aside).

Of our games against teams in the top flight in the FA Cup we've scored 2 goals and conceded 12 in 4 games (Fulham a - lost 2-1, Newcastle h - lost 2-0, Tottenham a - lost 3-0 and Everton h - lost 5-1).

Fulham we played well and more than deserved a draw, Newcastle we did ok, but they were 2-0 up before half-time and in cruise control for the second half which made our performance look better. Spurs and Everton we never even got going.

You never know, there’s always a chance.
We gave City a good go last season. Was 1-1 after 42 minutes and we kept in it for an hour before losing 4-1 but still had our moments.

Obviously different with no fans which may suit City but all the fans on here were saying it will be 10-0 etc (tbf i expected 8/9) but it’s doable to keep the game alive even if not realistic to avoid defeat.

The thing is they make changes and you get world cups finalists and winners playing still. Crazy! Oh only Aguero... or ah no KDB but just David Silva...

Other than Harwood-Bellis they were all big names against us.

Shame you won’t get the day out we had but the way I saw the game I just wanted “a moment” when the game mattered and Popes equaliser will live in the memory forever. Absolutely mental. We got the moment and that was worth it.

Like you, I just want the moment - going a goal up or equalising at some point.

We got that against Fulham, went 1 up, then missed a golden opportunity to go 2-1 up before they scored a winner in injury time.

The other games we didn't, I think we were 5-0 down when we scored against Everton.

Bournemouth v Crawley now rearranged for Tuesday.

Our game against Walsall, due to be played on Tuesday, rearranged for March.

Go for it Cheltenham. Tozers tosses will scare the life out of them!

If we can score a goal (preferably to take the lead or equalise) and/or lose by less than five I'll be happy. Having said that, I'll be staking at least £20 on City -4.5 unless they literally play their U23s and nobody from their first team squad!

We've put up a giant City banner as a thank you to their fans who've bought virtual tickets... I get the gesture but maybe we might've found a different way of saying thank you, seems a bit odd.

All the best to Cheltenham and Crawley. Hope City pick a strong side as let's be honest, you'd rather get a chance to play against the big names even if it makes a heavy defeat more likely. Be nice if Cheltenham can get a goal or two.

Bournemouth will have all their focus on promotion, and if Crawley can replicate their performance v Leeds they've got a half decent chance imo.

If Bournemouth pick their first team and play properly we will lose.

If the pack a side with back up players and don't put themselves out we've got a chance...if we have a side to put out ourselves.

It has not been made public who has the virus except to say Mark Wright hasn't.

I really want one of Cheltenham or us (or both) to get through to have league 2 represented in the next round.
