Throughly deserved win against Accrington and played some really good football. Whoever comes in as manager will be inheriting a great squad. Does this count as a cupset? :bg:

Also a huge well done to Marine! Made up for them. Would love to get them in Round 2!

Just seen the Southend score. Genuinely feel bad for you Southend boys on here. Not easy at the moment.

Another excellent performance and result from New Rovers against a decent Accrington side.

Congratulations to Marine, who we will hopefully meet in the next round.

Gordon was one yes i hold my hands up. I am just a punter who can see how bad they are Yet we pay someone a lot of money to try and improve them. So who is wrong me or Evatt?

Watched the Marine game after the Rovers had finished. They were really well marshalled by David Raven at the back and soaked up everything Colchester threw at them. On balance of play fortuitous to go through but worthy penalty winners.

As for Rovers, played some really good stuff today against a good league 1 team. Getting back to where we were footballing wise before we had the carpet pulled from under our feet last March.

It's a bit crap that Marine and Canvey are unable to train or play until the next round. Surely they should be given an exemption?
In other news it's nice to see media darlings FCUM being spanked by Donny

I don't think we were as bad as some people have made out. At the end of the day we have had more than 60% possession 17 shots 11 on target and limited them to 3 shots 1 on target. If you do that for the majority of games then you will win more games than you lose.

I do think we must be the team with the most losses to non league sides in the cup. Enfield, canvey island , Scarborough twice, grimsby and now kings lynn so it's no surprise from me that we lost.

We made it through but Concord gave us a run for our money and will rightly feel disappointed that they're not in the draw for the next round. They were organised, came to make our lives difficult and whilst we shaded the game in terms of chances and possession, it was difficult to tell there were 2 levels between us.

We led twice and were pegged back twice, we had more of the ball but did very little with it, we needed the bench to change something, we were calling out for a change of system, a plan B but unfortunately nothing was forthcoming. We tried in vein to find a winner in extra time but our efforts on goal were well saved. Can't complain about the shoot out, perfect 5 from 5 and Cumming saved their first so we made it through 5-4.

Positives - we made it through, Pett looked good. Newton finally has his goal. Nothing much else.

Our defending for the goals was dreadful. We couldn't impose ourselves on the game, in theory we're meant to have better quality, didn't see much evidence of that today.

At least we progressed.

They had an exemption to train the other night so I would imagine they'll have permission to continue training each week etc.

No Mullin or Ironside today and it really showed.

Bonner said neither will be fit for next Saturday but I don’t believe that.

You've forgotten the worst of the lot- Chasetown! Statistically the biggest FA Cup upset in the history of the competition.

I would tend to agree once the anger has worn off, as a football contest it was an absolute mugging, we had enough of the game to win 2 or 3 games and the bigger worry is the problem rather than the result.

We won 3 on the spin but the first thought after beating Southend and Oldham was that we should have won 5 or 6... even against Cheltenham at 2-1 we missed 2 glorious chances.

We have resolved the issue of a few weeks ago when we weren’t creating chances but now we are creating loads but not being ruthless enough. Games which are tighter chance wise are the ones which may cost us promotion/play offs so need to improve that.

In terms of going out it’s probably the best time for us to do it over the course of time. Less money in it, not having to sit freezing our bollocks off watching it, but the main one is the loss of potential experience of a plumb tie (and cash) the experience in January at the Etihad was incredible... anyone doing it this season will be watching on a stream in a rattling stadium. Today is Kings Lynns biggest day in their history and no one there to see it!

It’s annoying but the bigger picture this season is the league for us and I’d be gutted if we got a plumb tie, a massive club or Stoke and we couldn’t go! So saves that!

Performance was fine until the final ball and the finish. Should of played Cullen as he is the most lethal finisher at the club IMO!

Legge and Joyce had shitters today mind! Clark was outstanding... would of been a goal of the season had he got his shot away after running from one area to the other!

Frustrating Wozza’s goal was ruled out too as he looks well on when the shot is taken but once that happened and the Clark miss from 4 yards I knew we were going to be sucker punched.

Still haven’t warmed up from that night! Luke Rogers and the penalties he missed in the game! Christ... Think they were Midland League and us League One so the biggest gap in the cups history. BBC wanted to show the game but their floodlights were too crap for the night match with it being a replay they were that far down the pyramid!

Masi,
Your banter with fellow supporters is fun to read and keeps the site alive BUT sometimes you go a bit OTT and this is one instance.
Count to five before your reply and you'll find you'll be far more effective with more thoughtful respectful responses.
