So the overwhelming evidence is people were worried about jobs and the effects that free movement was having.
Case closed with a kick in the teeth for for left wing whingers.

That's it then :sur:

May to call a snap election if the supreme court rules it has to go through parliament.

I think she'd be crazy not to. She's worried about UKIP I imagine, but she'll increase her majority and legitimise her leadership.

Just what Labour don't want or they could have a massive loss of seats like The Lib Dems at the last general election.

Exactly why, from the Tories point of view, she should.

Loathe though I am to revive this largely awful thread, it’s perhaps the best place to state that Tim Shipman’s new book on the referendum, which I've just finished, is really excellent. Perhaps lacking in-depth analysis in places but the intention was clearly more towards providing an gossipy account of the behind the scenes machinations within the various camps, and in that respect it’s superb. A real page turner – for saddo political junkies like me, anyway.

The stuff about Corbyn, both during and after the referendum, is particularly fascinating. From a pro-Brexit and anti-Labour perspective, it’s also hilariously funny. Total hero. Long may he reign!

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to check it out. Is he the chap that used to work as a press officer for Cameron or was he embedded with all camps during the campaign?

You're thinking of Craig Oliver, who was basically Cameron's Alistair Campbell for 5 years. He was heavily involved in the Remain campaign and wrote a book about it. I haven't read it, though.

Shipman is political editor at the Sunday Times. Before that he wrote for the Daily Mail and Daily Express. Given that, I suppose suspicions of Tory/Brexit bias are understandable, but I found little evidence of it in the text. I'm probably not the best person to judge (easier to see biases you don't share, and all that) but FWIW I judge it to be fairly even-handed.
