When you look at the figures quoted and the money he's going to have then you can see why he's interested in the job, Everton currently looks a sideways step but he must feel what he's being offered is going to allow him to take Everton further than he could take Southampton. Football is a fickle game and if Southampton have a slow start next season and sit bottom in October fans will be calling for his head anyway, he probably sees it as an opportunity he can't turn down, and of course Everton are a huge football club.
We didn't call for his head when we lost pretty much every game from mid-November to the beginning of January. Could even argue that cost us top 4 in the end.... Because football definitely works like that.
I can only think of Nigel Adkins who had a better relationship with the fans during his time here, during my time supporting the club anyway.
Oh well, I'm sure the Southampton job is the most attractive it's ever been for a new guy.
