What on earth are you blabbering on about?

What each club takes to either ground historically is completely irrelevant. You’re 2nd in the league, it’s Boxing Day and relatively local.

Let me ask you this. If we were in your shoes, do you think we’d bring 1,300 or would we come closer to selling out? Don’t give me this spiel about population and bigger fanbase. It’s L2 football and we’ve spent 6 years here.
You'd sell 1,299. Kidding, you're a bigger club so that's the reason why you'd sell out. I was a bit disappointed at first but in truth, when was the last time we took over 1k to Bradford? First game of the 16/17 season? Even then think it was less than 1,100.

We do have a fickle fan base. You can gauge our away followings off the mood around the place. When the ticket details were released we were doing much better, still top, I'd have guessed 2k. Our form is why it's so low. We took 1,400 boxing day to Rotherham 2012 when 2nd in the league.

According to the brain dead Bradford fan taking 20 percent of your home support is now poor about sums up that fan base and your posts. Don't ever comment about anything other than attendances. Bradford would have to bring 3000 to 4000 to vale to take 20 percent which has never happened. 1200 is th most Bradford have ever taken it vale and that isn't even 10 percent of there support so Bradford away support is the poorest in the division.

We don't know how many home fans go to Bradford games though. Bradford fans might be able to estimate it - maybe current average is 12-13k?

At least quote me before you spout absolute drivel.

You remind me of Bury back in the day, when they used to average a smidge over 2,000 at home. They’d generally travel quite well away from home, averaging 500-600. The home-to-away ratio was a frequent ‘gotcha’ card for them to play, too. It merely highlights how poorly you’re supported at home, and it’s not the flex you think it is.

This is why your United and Arsenal’s of this world have such terrible away followings, you know, because they only fetch 4% of their home average. Yawn.

Support fluctuates depending on success - even more so away from home. Again, comparing what we’ve taken to Vale isn’t even remotely comparable.

You’ve sold 1,100 tickets. In your position, Walsall, Doncaster, Chesterfield, Notts, Grimsby, Tranmere, Carlisle and possibly Crewe would bring more.

Again, poor numbers!

Too much gets made of this.

On a Tues night, circa 10k-12k.

On a weekend, the stands are full and bums on seats reflect the official attendance.

You won’t see the anti-board brigade banging on about Valley Parade being sparse on a Saturday, because it isn’t and it doesn’t suit their agenda.

Crewe's away % travelling will have taken a big knock after the last home game. Brought 2.5% to GY on that basis. I rather think we are in one off territory though - highest home crowd since 1969 I gather...

Club confirmed today we've sold just under 1,300.

Crewe? No chance, not having that.

For me it's a, meh, following. Not great, not shit. If we're looking for a comparison, the closest you'll find is probably the 2017 game that Alex Jones scored the winner, Bradford won that game to go 5th in League 1. Away following that day was 1,100.

To be fair, the % of home attendance is relevant at our level where clubs don't sell out away ends every week. The Arsenal, Man U, any other prem club that sells out week in week out, only becomes relevant when everyone that wants to attend, does. Most weeks, any Bradford fan that wants to attend, can as you don't sell out every week. You can't prevent it being used to say a clubs away following is good, then return the argument by flipping it say it actually shows your home support is good. It's one or the other.

And re our position, they key here is form. Fans get excited when they think there's a good chance of seeing their team win. We're fickle like that. Some clubs have great away support regardless, usually those with ridiculous distances to travel. Portsmouth, Ipswich, Carlisle, Plymouth.

The rest of us have good followings, ok followings and shit followings. It happens.

That's it, we're similar with Swindon. Often take 2 or 300, yet we'll usually take 1,000 to Oxford.

I said a few weeks ago, no club should be knocked for their away followings at the moment. We've got 3 away games in 10 days coming up. I've chosen the Doncaster one of the 3. Only one I've never been. Just me and my daughter it will cost us £80 for tickets and coach alone. Fair play to people that can go every game.

We're 4th division clubs at the end of the day. Anything over 1k should be applauded.

We travel to Bradford this Sunday and believe we’ve sold over 2,000 so far. The bottom part of the stand behind the goal has gone on sale now too.

Reckon we might sell out or get very close to doing so.

Not sure on numbers we’re taking to Fleetwood this Thursday, but everyone I know seems to be going to that one too so should be a decent following there.

Everything that comes out of your mouth is a load of crap. When have vale in the last 30 years or so had a 2000 crowd for a home leagu game like bury have. Even at the lowest points it tended to be 3000 to 5000 crowds depending on away numbers or if it's a night match. We have had already if we include Bradford 6 1000 plus away followings despite not being an ex prem side or a club that gets 15k at home. Any away following over 1000 at this level is decent as your basically watching crap teams week after week.
