Has anybody mentioned that we are breaking the record for an away following to any Man City game ever played?

And that’s just the official Away attendance with the actual number of Valiants likely to be higher with many who couldn’t get tickets opting to go into the home ends judging by what’s been posted on OVF and the Facebook groups.

Think that chart in the other thread needs changing with Vale in the Maaaassssive category...

I considered the home seats, but decided against it in the end. Hope its a great day for all those lucky enough to go.

Cobblers fans. Go on then, tell me all about your team. Can see you are in the play off hunt and your form looks good.
If you had played us a few weeks ago I'd say you would win with ease, but we have now hit form with 3 wins in 4 and have returning players so will be harder. We are 3 points from the play offs and came from 2.0 down at Bolton yesterday.
150k winning money makes the game more interesting plus its the, "who we could face if we win scenerio".. As let's be honest neither of us are particularly excited about playing each other.
Tenner in on Sunday for this 2.01pm feast at the pirelli.

I believe we hold a similar record at Spurs. 7,200 in the FA Cup at Wembley a couple of years ago.

It is entirely feasible that away fans break records in the 3rd round of the cup, as less home fans wish to attend therefore more tickets are afforded to away fans.
We took 11,200 fans to old Trafford in the fa cup replay at in 2006 of which I think is also still a record.
Shame most of them haven't been to a brewers game since.

No we don’t, Wimbledon took 7,700 that same season. I think Spurs reduced the away allocation to 3-4,000 for their league games at Wembley for some reason.

1400 allocation sold, we aren't pretty to watch but apart from Boxing Day at Crawley, where the team forgot to turn up, we have been getting the results.
Not sure if we will be putting our full strength side out, the money and an opportunity to get a 'big' side might sway the thinking. Not too bothered either way, still be there though.

Enjoy your trip up. First visit since we won the title I think (last home game)
Make a stop into town if u like a good drink as there is some great boozers with home and away fans drinking together like the coopers, Devonshire, prince Alfred, and Derby Inn. The beech by the ground is for away fans only and a short hop.

Worth bearing in mind Crewe that we beat Barnsley 3-0 at oakwell so if you're not 7 up at half time then something has gone badly wrong.

That said they have changed manager since

This cup lark is overrated.

Why would you want to be in that when Ian Holloway and Grimsby are coming to town?

Would hope we’d go full strength. We’ve got three quality centres and we’ve got good delivery from the wide areas so are a threat from set pieces and the like. Cheap tickets have ensured a good following from our lot, and like you say there’s a lot of money on the line and a chance to get into the fourth round so I hope we take it seriously.

I'm going to predict 8-0 for City particularly after they rested Aguero and Sterling especially for this game  .
Could be an absolute massacre, but hey who cares, great day out and when they can beat Watford 8-0 and Burton 9-0 we are in good company at least.

Hopefully the 300 grand plus we make from this can be a springboard for next season now we know that the gate receipts won't be trousered by somebody

Its a no lose game for Vale really. You are expected to get massacred of course but how often do you get to take a large following away to a massive Premier league side. Prize Money and gate receipts are absolutely crucial to us league 2 sides and that's likely to help pay wages for a decent period of time.

Even if you get to see your side score a goal at the Etihad that's surely worth the ticket fee alone? Enjoy your day out. I bet Bradford fans never thought they would win at Stamford Bridge, 'miracles' do happen.

Pretty much this, its the only time I will happily take a 5-0 defeat as decent!

The score is irrelevant as we have zero chance of winning. What is more important is that its a good day out for the long suffering fans, the bonus of a big fat cheque and a chance to celebrate our new era.

And thanks to kieran_vale I now have a ticket :woo:

Spot on mate
My lad was 22 last week and the biggest team he's ever seen Vale play in a Cup game is WBA in the Carling Cup.
It's going to be a cracking day and apparently City are almost sold out so a 53'000 plus crowd.
A goal would be superb ( especially if it's in the 95th minute to get the win ).
Be nice to see a real Superstar play, say an Aguero, Sterling etc but whatever it's a great draw for us and can't wait .
We should of been playing Morecambe away in the league tomorrow.

It’s all going to be great tomorrow at least until VAR (which is in use apparently) nearly starts a riot at some point.

Looking forward to it. Hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves. Fully expecting a battering but it’s a nice boost for the club regardless.

Without question, makes it sweeter to know he isn’t going to benefit in any way from this as know any money gained from that would have gone on a new Tesla for him.

The whole issues with Smurf seemed to start when we lost to Exeter (we were a league above at the time) and missed out on hosting Liverpool... he was furious and that seemed to be the touch paper for what followed.

At least any money made will be going to improve the club and squad and not to him!

Me and a couple of other Chesterfield fans are going with a couple of Vale fans we went to school with in Matlock. We're all in the home end though sat fairly close to the away end. I got us the tickets and it looked fairly full to me when I booked them. Struggled to get tickets together

Yeah i think a lot where looking at those blocks when booking... think its sold out pretty much now overall which is great for the coffers especially if City do give us the full percentage of takings as they apparently tend to.

Demand has been crazy for this, but the first real big Saturday prem opponent since Villa in 2006 so a good 12 years (took 8k then almost)

Burton made our game all ticket two days ago, and now they’ve decided we can pay on the day too. Make your minds up Brewers.

Just enjoy the day out Vale fans and don't you concern yourselves with the score. Cos let's be brutally honest here - City will probably score inside the first five mins and then get another 3 or 4 before the first half is over. Even the most ardent Vale fans on Twitter and the other social media are expecting this so I trust I'm not being disrespectful.

BUT there's one battle you could and should win, and that's the proper fans one. Just go there and show them what getting behind your team sounds like cos they haven't got the slightest idea.
