Be interesting to see what happens to the Haringey v Yeovil tie. Hopefully Yeovil don't get kicked out would be a dangerous precedent. Should be a replay imo.

Sadly, local ties in the first round are largely a thing of the past since they did away with regionalisation.
I think we have played teams from the North West 10 times out of the last 15!
Can we start a campaign to bring it back?

When did they do away with regionalisation?

When have they ever had regionalisation in the FA Cup proper? Must have been years and years.

In fact, I just looked it up, and from the look of the first round draws, it looks like 1998.

Yes, 1998/9 season.

I'd like to go to a new ground, not too far away, so Poole Town away please.

Though we will probably get Rochdale.
Yeah, you guys normally have to visit Bury in this every year. So it'll be us, Bolton or "the bye"... :)

"The qualifying rounds are regionalised to reduce the travel costs for smaller non-league sides. The first and second proper rounds were also previously split into Northern and Southern sections, but this practice was ended after the 1997–98 competition."
I never realised that...every day is a school day.

Bet you we end up playing at some non-league style ground like Grimsby

I always thought the regionalisation of 1st round was always unfair for northern clubs.

we always seem to get paired with league clubs whereas the southern clubs always seemed to get ties with tin pot non league sides as most of the southern teams were non league.

Sometimes you read a post and you think ''that's definitely a response to a 1 point for answer, 3 points for showing your working question''.

Swindon at home - I'll take the result from the last time we played them in the cup.

In all seriousness - I hope the club use their noggin and reduce prices for this match. Last time they kept prices at full standard and it impacted the attendance massively.

Accrington away. Only interesting aspect is its a good test for the players against higher league opposition and there is no shame in going out, but aside from that, it's yet another abysmal draw with zero interest from the fans outside the die hards.

I think mk Don's have been given a bye aswell as chircester

It’s a winnable one as they are bottom four in L1 but assuming we do go out we will make zero from it. No decent following as it’s a soulless away day. About as bad as we could of got.

Accrington away, pretty dull draw. But it could have been worst and it's winnable.

I dont think any away game is winnable at the moment. I'd rather us have drawn Dover or gateshead away even though there long trips I'd rather go there than milton Keynes. At least mk Don's get reasonable crowds about 10k so be around 5k for a cup game whereas crewe at accrington will be a less than 2k crowd so if you lose you make nothing.

Exeter at home.

Hard to say with a completely straight face after the weekend, but that's a dreadful draw.
Nah it’s not dreadful, you’d take a draw at home to any side in our league anyway, even with our home record. Definitely winnable which is all you can ask for. Now up to us to take the opportunity.

It’s dire interest wise but they are struggling and if we can get them back to VP for instance then it’s progress-able.

I wanted to be the last out! Was getting close!

Crawley away, absolutely awful.

Our history of drawing a team in the same league as us continues, happened every time since 14/15.

I guess you’ve got the excitement of being one of only two teams who didn’t draw a football club this round.

Enjoyed seeing Maldon & Tiptree excited about a trip to little old us. Should be a laugh until they beat us.
