Thankfully I was online at 12:01 last night on my break to get my lad his ticket, buzzing for him that he’s gonna get to to see us play in an FA Cup quarter final, something I will never be able to say for myself.

Gutted I won’t be there but I’ve just said to my lad whatever you do enjoy the day as it might not ever come round again. Sounds corny I know but I don’t want him being down if/when we lose as just getting here is a monumental achievement. So bloody excited though, UTM!!

Don't think I've ever wanted a Saturday to go as quickly as I did yesterday. Woke at 4am and then had broken sleep, got up at 6.40am after having then having had two Town related dreams and I'm on the train now. Absolutely can't wait for this. There won't be a team anywhere in the world of football this weekend getting a reception coming onto the pitch like our lot are gonna get today, regardless of whether or not we do ourselves proud that won't be taken away from us and neither will the beers in the hours leading up to it and the pre-match concourse atmosphere. Anything else on top of that will be a bonus. Come on Town!!

Yeah I really savoured the concourse at Southampton before the game and at half time because I fully expected us to lose so I wanted to enjoy the atmosphere and soak it all in, even 1-0 up at half time I was still expecting to lose so as you say times like that can never be taken away.
My lad says today he just wants a goal to celebrate, even if we go 1 up and then lose 6-1 he said he will be more than happy.

Poor defending for the goal, no one reacted. Done ok since in holding out Brighton but been very poor when we do get the ball.

Need to make better passes going forward but the difference in quality is there for all to see, think it's only a matter of time before they get another.

Was fun while it lasted, difference in quality was far too big, but credit to our fans still in stadium and singing with pride 15 mins after full time despite losing 5-0.

Nice bit of money made, hopefully we spend it well in the summer and push for a play off finish next season.

Grimsby were really poor in my opinion. Going out with a whimper from minute 1, not even trying to play. Only interested in trying to keep the scoreline down. Admittedly I switched off after an hour as I couldn’t watch another minute, so if they really had a go in the last 30 minutes then fair play, but I doubt.

I realise this will trigger some Grimsby reactions, but I’m only saying it because I expected more from the team.

I think we had a plan to try and contain and did ok (kept to a single goal for 45 mins), we lost 5-0 playing that way, if we tried to give it a go, it probably would have been 10. I do think we were poor when we had the ball though, with many miss placed passes, but that was probably just that Brighton were a yard ahead of us and didn't give us time to pass.

We had a couple chances in the second half, prolly helped by McAtee being on, but also the game was over by then.
