Pretty poor game really, after Whitehead and Dudley went off injured we were unable to keep the ball and just sat deeper and deeper. Meanwhile FGR put their 2 centre backs in to a front 3 with Monthe who I thought was left back but is actually a mountain, with Noble playing quarterback in front of Russell repeatedly lumping it forward. Bobbly pitch didn't help either side. Pinnock is a quality player who will surely be in the league next season one way or another, Ellis didn't look that great but was told FGR are paying him 2k a week at the moment.

Not sure how we managed to be so embarrasingly bad today against a Dulwich side that had they taken their chances 2nd half could have won by 3 or more. Expect a better showing from us in Tuesdays replay as we surely cant be that bad again (can we?).

I thought Chelmsford gave a good account of themselves today and were a credit to their league. Wilmott scored a cracker, although i don't think he would of got a shot away if Harris was playing instead of Wallace. Tranmere were very poor in the final third of the pitch and had to rely on a Cole Stockton special to get them out of trouble. Norwood was terrible once again and i wouldn't be suprised if his days at Tranmere are numbered, he still seems to have a hangover from the clubs Christmas party. Tolitt looked tired and more worryingly Wallace hobbled off at the final whistle.

Well that's bollocks to start with, he's on 1500 a week at Carlisle and we're not paying all of that.

Better side lost, but we need another striker cos we're pretty toothless. Trophy is more tinpot then ever now sadly, less then 1000 there for a last 16 tie between 2 top 8 sides says it all. Oh well, focus on the league now.

I think the attendance figure had been fiddled - don't the teams have to share the gate revenue?
I thought there were about 1200-1300 there today.

I thought it was a fairly even game and if you had scored an equaliser, we could have had no complaints.

Bit of an odd game against Kidderminster, and didn't really get going. Our opponents looked better than a lot of Conference sides, but didn't really have a plan B once they went a goal down. We didn't really get out of second gear.
Tuton got man of the match on his debut and looks like a good fit in our 4-3-3 system.
Liked the look of a few of their players, and it took a world class save to keep them out in injury time, but I think we had kept plenty in reserve if it went to extra time.

Wouldn't have been extra time. Would have gone straight to a replay. Nice to here we could compete with a lot of conference sides. Hopefully we can focus on the league and get back there now.

Oops, of course it would have gone to a replay - it did feel like we were saving ourselves though by slowing everything down when the goal went in.
There were definitely 3 or 4 of your players that impressed - a rarity in a defeat - it just didn't seem like a side that would be able to deviate from their game to scrap for an equaliser.

I think most Barrow fans would rather you beat Fylde to promotion.

Just back. True it was a bit of a chunky deflection for your goal but I thought you managed it well and earned your win. As has been said despite all our possession you made the better chances, post too wasn't it. Would have loved to go further but can't complain at the outcome.

That's just what I heard in the press box from someone who's known since his time at Crewe. He said you were paying more than what Carlisle were (I assumed to help him change location), but found it generally bizarre.

Stupidly no, lovely trip to Essex on wednesday to look forward to.
Both teams have to agree to that anyway and chances are Chelmsford would prefer getting you to theirs for a replay than risking another 30 mins at your gaff when they'd probably lose.

Yep, we should have won today, but winning matches we dominate is our perennial problem! I'm hoping we can finish the job on Tuesday! I'm chuffed to have this Trophy run and can't understand why some Conference National sides don't take it seriously. It's a great competition and I'd love us to get to Wembley this year!

Us and Macc both played a strong side and I'd have loved to have gone on. Cooper said the same and expect he's gutted.

It would take a very rare set of circumstances for the away team to ever agree to finish it on the day.

Rovers have picked our strongest side, yet been unable to get past a decent Chelmsford team in the next league down, Perhaps we should have gone with the reserves.

A few seasons back we agreed to it away at Nuneaton although we won it in 90 mins so didn't need the extra time.

We have agreed to playing the game to a result in both of the last rounds. The last thing we want is yet another replay if at all possible.

And Nantwich as well. All 3 of our FA Trophy games were going to be completed on the day.

So it only really happens when the away team is in the top 3 of the conference. Completely understand why FGR or Lincoln would do it but surpirsed someone like Welling would accept it.

In Nantwich's case, they had a fixture back-log worse than ours at the time so they were happy for no replay. Gateshead didn't fancy travelling down to us on a Tuesday night, which is understandable and it's two sides from the same league anyway and I think Welling already have a fixture on when the replay would have been. Can't imagine they'd want to travel to us on a Tuesday night either.

I'd understand if we were at home and wanted us back at their places.

What benefit would Welling gain in taking it to a replay? They'd have a much better chance in a penalty shoot out than they would in an away game to Lincoln.

Ugh, typical Paul Cox team yesterday.

Even though we lost yesterday by a team of stereotypical, physical non-leaguers, i'm still glad that we stick to our style of play regardless of the opposition.

It's a brave stance at this level but our style is a lot more pleasing on the eye, thought we were quite unlucky in the end to go out. Barrow have some effective players and it is clear to see why they are tough to break down, but the quality in my opinion, wasn't vastly greater to what we see down here in the North.

Referee bottled sending off the bloke already on a yellow for time-wasting, until he realised he had already booked him for a late challenge on Izwele in the first half.

Time to play catch-up with Fylde.

I don't say this very much being a York fan lately but first half yesterday we was brilliant.
Not sure about 2nd half think I fell asleep it was that boring, but maybe due to the state of Nuneaton pitch down the middle

Well they would get a split of a crowd of over 1,000 which would help given their crowds of about 600.

They'd probably lose before extra time anyway so a penalty shoot out wouldn't be guaranteed.

That was us in second gear though. I really do think that if we were properly going for it yesterday, we would have seen a bigger win.
Good luck sticking to stylish football, but unless you can afford the best players, it usually ends in relegation. I know I go home happier with a grafting 1-0 win than a narrow defeat but having displayed the odd passage of passing football.

A result of the Paul Cox way on one of our players. Managed to snap his shin pad in the challenge.

This is what wound me up a bit about the moaning from some Barrow fans last week about the ref in our league game. He was whistle-happy but the way Barrow play it's not like he had to pull the fouls out his arse and nor was it us gaming him as they seemed to think. You can get a lot mileage being physical at this level but no sense in complaining if the ref doesn't let it slide.

I'm not sure what that proves - that our players tackle hard? Yeah, I know that.

There was absolutely no fight from either side yesterday, so it doesn't mean anything at all. It was played like a pre-season friendly.

i agree - please beat Fylde to the title - so we can laugh if they cock it up in the play offs again :)
