Rather enjoyed it myself last year.
When you've never won anything much than a county cup in 128 years, it was rather special.

I would love us to. If your asking National League clubs though perhaps those in midtable with no risk of going down. Boreham Wood,Ebbsfleet,Barnet?

Oh, yes please, all the way.Been watching the Shots for 60 years, home and away, but they have never played at Wembley. Our one conference play-off final took place when the stadium was being rebuilt,so we had to plonk all the way to Stoke (and we lost). We ain't gonna make the play-offs,and I'm not living forever....

If our reserve team is good enough to win it, then I won’t grumble. Losing to Maidstonehead in the FA Cup doesn’t fill me with a great deal of confidence about them.

Just to keep this thread up to date, The Mariners fans have contracted a severe case of FA CUP FEVER having hit 5 (five) past Tranmere midweek and we have now sold out our initial allocation for Chesterfield on Sunday.

Completely agree, Alty have played in 3 FAT finals at Wembley (winning 2) and they are fondly remembered by everyone,.. probably tinpottery as we never have progressed to EFL and stayed anonymous,.. while watching dozens of other (usually better funded) clubs do that. #greatdayout

I'm conflicted. It is an FA competition with a Wembley final but its value has been sorely devalued in the last 15 years or so.
Anyway, we've been rubbish in this competition apart from its first two years of existence when we reached the semi-final and then the final!

Really? Blimey I thought in this age of play-offs that everyone had played there by now. We've been 5 times (both old and new Wembley). It's a fantastic occasion as long as you win!

Our FA Trophy Final experience was soured by losing to Exeter in the play-offs just beforehand. Many fans just couldn't get back up for it after such a catastrophe.

We definitely don't want any kind of run in it this year though, promotion is essential and the only thing that matters this season.

May as well get the ball rolling with this, we will deploy our backup players and youth.

If we lose it will be embarrassing, but at least we will be out.

I didn't realise you could do that, these games should be finished on the day as a standard surely?

Normally wouldn't be arsed about this cup but with it being Money's first game looking forward to see how we set up.

Large scale boycott and protests being planned at our game v Basford on Saturday. Currently sold 300 tickets.

I'm going for the protest but will be back in the pub with everyone else come 3.15. I suspect there will be around 500 home fans (down from 5000 last Sat) + however many they bring so likely to be a pretty well done boycott.

Our FA Trophy tickets this weekend at home against Halifax are full price, which probably indicates we're taking it seriously this year - I think we'll have just about a first-choice XI out, probably with a change in goalkeeper. Expecting a win against a team who always seem to be dreadful at Holker Street (though usually come away with points).

I think Dos (our manager) would love to take Sutton to Wembley. I think the Trophy will be the easiest option this season.
Tough away game at Bromley to start with...

We've only got 17 on the books now so can't make many changes!

Wouldn't mind another Wembley trip, but not too arsed if not.

Nah, just the pulling power of The Shaymen in play. They know Barrow fans won't need a discount to pack them in for this match. :bdick:

So we start the game with no recognised centre back on the pitch yet have 2 on the bench. Our defence consists of 2 centre midfielders and a left back.

This clown of a manager ain't got a clue what he's doing :ffs:

Sounded like the one bit of quality in the match won us the game, the weather was described to me as fucking minging.

Nice straight forward 3-0 win against Boston. Deverdics had a good game! (Deverdics having a game is shock enough)

3-3 draw at home to Bedford which means a replay on Tuesday night. Literally the last thing we need when we only have 13 fit players and one of them went off injured today.
