If we play like we did at Crawley then there's every chance you'll be getting spanked as we were mint against them, just couldn't stick the ball in the back of the net. No chance we create as much as that and don't score more than one again.
Aye the rolling over comment was tongue in cheek.

I actually watched your game with Crawley and thought you looked good, and definitely should’ve won that game.

Think we will be travelling in decent numbers and I’m looking forward to the game. Whether we go down in the end this season or not, I’m just enjoying going to the match under Askey for the first time this season, which under Hartley and Curle was horrific

That’s a bit pot calling the kettle near the end your fan’s appealed for a hand ball when it hit our players knee, even your players didn’t bat an eyelid. Every set of fans do it, it would help if they didn’t get simple decisions wrong like when your player kicked the ball out of play and you were given a throw for it, granted that was the linesman’s fault not the refs.
I agree every set of fans do it but yours definitely took it to a new level, I get why it happens too they feel aggrieved when a couple of decisions go against them and so start appealing for everything but there were a couple of instances when I genuinely had no idea what they were even appealing for.

To me it’s just a random thing to pick up on, I’ve never been to an away game where it doesn’t happen regularly. Especially if not winning.

Doesn't every home crowd do the same, it's obviously louder at Valley Parade than say Salford or Harrogate due to the difference In size of crowds
Yeah maybe it was because of the extra noise why i noticed it more yesterday I guess, just seemed like way more appealing than I’ve seen at any other away ground although that could also be partly because of your numbers that there is more people there to appeal for more stuff.

I did laugh at the guy behind your goal who grabbed the ball and stuck it up his shirt and then ran up the steps with it before calling Crocombe a wanker near the end.

Was always going to happen, 3 match pre-match thread ban for GTFCfish.
At least it wasn’t at our end!
To be fair to Cook I thought he was a real handful yesterday, seemed to win every header and was always really busy with his movement and he nearly got in a couple of times especially in the first half but I thought that his all round play deserved that goal.

Ah fair enough haha. But yeah you're in good hands with Askey, reckon it'll be a decent match on Saturday.

94th minute winner last week, 94th minute defeat this week - shit happens.

Gonna be Captain Obvious here but as much as a 94th minute defeat stings you're of course better off than if neither of those goals happened aren't you. Kinda odd that if both games were draws you'd be probably feeling ok about them both rather than being down about yesterday, but in reality you're one point better off.

Captain Obvious like I say but just trying to rationalise it, make you feel better about yesterday if you need it haha.

Finally home from Yorkshire after the Bradford game (stayed in Gargrave with a mate), thought a draw would have been fair to be honest. Ref had a nightmare and we just couldn't hang on after taking the lead.

The Bradford fans didn't wake up until they went 3-2 up, very quiet considering there were nearly 18,000 of them.

Would be more like a mint with a hole in the top I reckon. The middle was fine on Tuesday!
Middle would have been stronger with Green and "our irish midfielder" in there
Think you would have won no doubt.

Stockport County.
Hurst has done a great job at Grimsby. Pound for pound better than any manager at any club in this league based on all aspects.

Hardly a surprise Grimsby's season might fizzle out a bit. Long and great cup run and now in a position where they can't go up or down so hardly a surprise if he or them are not going to be dazzling us all in the next month.

Rifty up at Hartlepool on his high horse again. Have a look at his pre season predictions telling us that Scottish fella was going to surprise us all. Hartlepool strung a few results and he's having a pop at clubs who are safe and sound for not going for a win or whatever.

I know you do. One of the best posters on here and last day of the season I'd love you to be safe. It's a myth that County and Hartlepool have a rivalry. We had a tiff over DC coming to us but it's water under the bridge. I really hope you stay up. You can do it. Crawley, Colchester and Harrogate are there for the taking.

Thanks, Askey seems to have got players heads on straight.
Our treatment room was chocker till he turned up(not joking) now empty
There seems to be a lot more belief on/off the pitch.
But if the worst happens, i believe we have the right man for the job next season.
You never know we may be challenging( dare i say) yourselves next season
Damn it just about to jump back on me high horse again and its fecked off....lol

Really in with a chance now; expect you’ll bring a good number to us on GF - will it be a 1000?
Easily I would have thought.
Unfortunatley I won’t be one of them, going to Magaluf on Friday for 4 days,on a rugby tour.
I’m a bit pissed off i’ll miss the game ,as Grimsby is one of my favourite away days & i‘ve seen us win the three times I’ve visited.

I thought Clifton and Morris bossed it in the middle of the park for us personally. Green wasn't really needed considering how little threat they carried. Maybe if we'd have played him or Gav up front we might have won.

They were indeed crap. Can only draw 1-1 with what's in front of you though.

Oh yeah absolutely, better than 2 draws.

Think it does show a bit of perspective to us though. We've been good/very good against the bottom half sides we've played and not so great against the top half ones, with a couple of exceptions either way. We have a squad that is probably somewhere around the bottom of the top half in reality, no better, no worse. We had an excellent run where we won all the games we really needed to - Pools, Crawley H, Colchester, Rochdale A and that's elevated us, but there have still been half a dozen games where we've been very second best. The transfer business in the winter looks to have done what it was supposed to, but we need another very productive window to even think about an assault on the top echelons next season. Fortunately, I think that's all very possible from what I've heard around the club.

Looks like it's sold out, there was only a handful left yesterday when I was getting mine.

EDIT: Grimsby sending a final 300, lovely stuff!

He's kicked on unbelievably well over the last two seasons. It's mad to think there were serious question marks over whether he could cut it in the National League after we dropped down. Since then he's become one of our best players. It's between him and Waterfall for our player of the season. Local lad with over 200 matches under his belt in all comps now for us at the age of 24 and a firm fans favourite. He's grafted his absolute arse off over the years so it's great to see. There's talk about whether or not we'll keep hold of him now.

Clifton will get PotS, nailed on.

But to any coaching staff of League 1 and above clubs calling in here to have a read, he's pretty average really and won't cut it at a higher level...

My lad heard a rumour last week that Clifton had turned down a transfer to Forest Green in the Summer and then when I went to pick up our Bradford tickets Clifton was in the ticket office so I asked him if he could’ve gone to Forest Green and he said yeah but I never really entertained it.
Good lad.

Agree that he will probably get it but arguably because he's local, from the youth academy and is our top scorer this season not because he's had a better season that Waterfall. Not a diss either that, he's one of two that deserve it for sure. It's just that those factors will swing it. However, if we stop and talk about who has had the best season then it's very close between him and Waterfall for me. They've both been quality for two whole seasons now.

Yeah, was heavily rumoured FGR were in for him in the summer. There'll be L1 clubs in for him again this summer too I reckon. Any other of his age, position and ability I'd say they'd be off too probably.
