Given some of the negativity when he was loaned, see Connor Jennings got another goal for Pools today. Hope he can help keep you up.

He's been good to be fair, technically very sound, works hard, just what you need for the battle. I'd prefer someone a bit more direct to play off Umerah but I can't knock him, he's surprised me.

He signed permanently, I wasn't impressed at the time and he stank of a cheap last minute option but he gives it 100% every game, runs himself into the ground, I can see why fans end up loving the fella, wins a decent amount in the air too.

It’s weird, definitely had miles better performances in recent games and came away dissapointed with Crawley also grabbing wins to rub salt into the wounds.

Pretty poor today, especially first half and grab the win, with them lot getting beat.

Plenty twists and turns left in the remaining weeks. Grimsby on Friday now is huge… hopefully they roll over for us like they did Crawley

Second half we were the better side but credit to Swindon who are a good footballing outfit, controlled the first half, play nicely through the thirds but definitely can be got at and that's what we did, pressure told eventually. This team never give up, amount of late goals we score is insane. Hopefully kick on and get the 4 wins/12 points I think would be enough.

I was disappointed with his signing, but how wrong was I.
What a good player he is,clever, wins loads of headers against bigger opponents & runs his knackers off.
Over the moon with him.

Yes,this team doesn’t know when it’s beaten.
There‘s not been many Pools sides like that.

Yes I was impressed with yous couple week back, despite our message board flooded with how badly we played which in fairness some of it was granted as we weren't great at all, but I was Impressed with your lot for constantly going for the win even during periods where we had pegged it back level, where as many teams especially in your position are happy to see out a draw, and as a result you went away with deserved share of the points.

Hartlepool just have that new manager honey moon thing going on for them right now, but trust me, it really won't be long before they're moaning and wanting Askey out by the end of the season.

Never any stability at their club whatsoever.

Right on cue, a ridiculous own goal from John Mellish. HG will be ecstatic!

You think I’m ecstatic about trailing to London to watch us get beat and barely threaten the opponents goal?

I do wonder what sort of fuckery must go through your mind to make you come to the conclusion that I’d be ecstatic about it.

Pretty poor again from us. Deservedly beaten by a superior team with better players all over the pitch. The own goal was maybe unfortunate but nothing less than Orient deserved. We defended well at times but again poor on the ball, and non existent in attack. Fair fucks to Orient, thought the number 15 and 7 were good.

I said it weeks ago, we are simply not good enough to pick up many points from the top teams. We’ve shown this all season and it’s been proven again these past couple of weeks. The glaring lack of quality stands out a mile in these games. It’s hard to fault the lads too much as they do try, but they just aren’t good enough and don’t have the required quality for these types of games sadly.

Once the own goal went in there was a kind of resignation around that the game was done. Even after the red card, never really felt like we were going to even threaten an equaliser. Although we did get one brilliant chance that Mellish managed to create for himself and then fuck up the easiest part, topping off his afternoon.

Not a good performance, but this defeat was expected, the damage was done losing at Gillingham last week.

94th minute winner last week, 94th minute defeat this week - shit happens.

We're still a comfortable distance from the bottom two, and as long as Colchester, Crawley and Harrogate don't win too many more we'll be fine. We do have a tricky run in though, so could do with no-one below us doing anything radical like being in decent form.

Unless you don't pick up another point this season the chances of us below catching you is slim to absolute zero, Rochdale are gonna need snookers soon and as impressive as our win was yesterday (for our standards) that's our first win in 10.

Really in with a chance now; expect you’ll bring a good number to us on GF - will it be a 1000?

Bank holiday weekend, easy drive, I think so, we were given an initial 704 tickets and had been given 200 more at the start of the week and looking online I can see about 70 tickets remaining?

Oh & one other thing,Carl Boyson is a utter twat.

He managed to book 13 players in our game last week and it wasn't even a dirty game. Ridiculous officiating.

Never been a Hurst fan personally, although no deny it he job he’s done at Grimsby so can see why they like him. I always remember him bringing his Shrewsbury team to ours when they were third and gave one of the most negative displays at VP in years, his teams are always useful with the dark arts though.

Glad we didn't appoint Hurst when he was linked a couple of years ago
Hurst is quite comfortably our most valuable commodity, one of the best managers in the division for me. Arguably the best. Don't really remember his Shrewsbury team that well but it's only really this season we've started to master the dark arts too. In his first stint here, a frequent criticism is that we were too nice. I hate to see it too, but if everyone else does it you're missing a trick by not really. In contrast to yesterday the match at BP earlier in the season was almost completely devoid of shithousey. I think the fact that both sides were protecting leads for a lot of the match yesterday is a factor.

We play defensive football partly due to his preference to do that but it's probably also the correct thing to do with our current squad. We're lacking in fire power so it's really not playing to our strengths to play otherwise. We've seen more attacking Hurst teams at BP over the years, in hoping we sort this out in the summer.
Turns out it was kinda pretty IMO mate. Watched on iFollow. Played much better than the last few weeks although Crawley helped us look good but whatever, could/should have been quite a few more than four.

Fair shout Son of Cod on GTFCfish tempting fate up there too.

Had the game down as a loss but I was hoping the injury problems might cause a closing of the gap. I didn't expect a thrashing.

I dont see us having the ability to avoid the drop but if some of the others muck up we might escape. Our games at Pool and (our home game) v Colchester look very important.

Hoping the clubs going to put some form of ticket deal on for last couple home games, get the place packed out, good atmosphere on side.

Because that game against you looks to be the big one left in both of our seasons

It’s hard to gauge mansfield yesterday as (sorry) crawley were utterly hopeless, easily the worst side i’ve seen this season and by some distance.

what was that keeper?

However i was impressed with the goal they scored, nicely worked.

We’ve swindon away and rochdale home over easter, hopefully a chance to get a little run going

If we play like we did at Crawley then there's every chance you'll be getting spanked as we were mint against them, just couldn't stick the ball in the back of the net. No chance we create as much as that and don't score more than one again.

How’s that gone for you since?

Hated Derek Adams, but happy with Mark Hughes.

As for Hurst, look at yesterday for example. You were leading 2-1, on top for the first 15 minutes of 2nd half, and for some strange reason resorted to the 'dark arts'. Now whether fatigued had kicked in, not sure, but it played into our hands by stoking up our crowd and you were on the ropes thereafter.

One word on your crowd btw, I’ve never known a home crowd appeal for so much absolute shit, and then be outraged when every single decision didn’t go their way, every 15-20 seconds it seemed like they were screaming for some sort of foul it was pretty laughable to be honest some of the ridiculous things they were appealing for.

To say our game at Colchester resembled 2 pub teams playing each other would be a huge disrespect to pub football,! nuff said.

The flip side of that is that without Hurst we wouldn’t have been playing you yesterday as we’d still be in the National League.
No other manager gets us through those play off games, he got every one tactically spot on including having the balls to sub off McAtee in all 3.
He gets in players who will run through brick walls for him and that, combined with Hurst’s tactics won us those play offs.

That’s a bit pot calling the kettle near the end your fan’s appealed for a hand ball when it hit our players knee, even your players didn’t bat an eyelid. Every set of fans do it, it would help if they didn’t get simple decisions wrong like when your player kicked the ball out of play and you were given a throw for it, granted that was the linesman’s fault not the refs.

Doesn't every home crowd do the same, it's obviously louder at Valley Parade than say Salford or Harrogate due to the difference In size of crowds
