Waller-Lassen is a class player for the Conference North. Seriously, he's brilliant.

Right, so my first proper look at Blackpool.

Got three players all earning over 4k a week - they're going.

My season is going pretty decent with Barnet, granted they are predicted 1st by Media and board want playoffs, but I still need to get the results ;)

Currently sit third after 12 games. W7 D3 L2 GF 21 GA 11 P 24.
All going well so far, had a little blip but battered Forest Green Rovers 4-1 away in my last match after a change from 4-4-2 to 4-2-3-1, pretty good for first game with it this season.

Only bought in 2 players, a loanee right back who has complimented a lot of attacking play so far. Daniel Alfei from Swansea. The other being a free agent 19 year old winger with good potential, Esteban Lopez.

Also just noticed Preston came down with us, so we've got that local derby to look forward too (Is Blackpool-Preston a big derby?)

Sold a big earner for £250,000 to boost the funds, and the club made a profit of close to £1m last year. It's too big for League 2, so hopefully I can get them going in the right direction again.

Dizzy heights of 14th in the North with North Ferriby - top scorers with 23 and 19 so that tells you where the problem lies, not that you needed those stats to figure out what normally happens.

I messed about with the team in the final 5 games so could have got up to 10th/11th.

Most of the squad will be going. Got three tied down but that'll probably be it unless Jarman changes his mind and negotiates a new deal, which I hope he does.

This game is a fucking joke sometimes. Dominated the past 3 games and yet I failed to win in any of them. I fucking hate playing down here. Can't wait until I get into the Football League.

It's not going to be easy. Ride it out.

If it's happening in every game I'd suggest a tweak of your tactics..

Anyone has any development methods for the Conference North? These players develop fuck all.

Have you tried staying at a club for more than 3 weeks?

Yeah. This is my 3rd year at Lowestoft now. I'm taking my time more, but my players are just getting worse. We've already had a dreadful start, and I can see it lasting all season. Waller-Lassen is back to being a "decent player for Conference North sides"

How do you get through seasons so quickly? That might be the reason you struggle so much, not committing enough time into turning things around.

A typical season for me at Reading is normally ~30ish hours of playing (though given my PC I don't know how much I lose from slow loading)

Took the job at Southport after leaving my Glory game. Same save but new Sunday league manager Halfway through 2017, big budget for transfers and wages.

Got relegated. Here we go.....

Scrapped the NFU game to go down the route I was initially going, which was 3 randoms and pick one of those.

Tranmere, Woking and Lincoln were the three teams. Lincoln obviously a no-go because that's my other game, so plumped for Tranmere.

Scrap that.

I started, got everything set-up, contracts, staff etc then just sat there and thought, 'I don't really want to be Tranmere', so that's the end of that one.

I feel all Libertadores...

It took me over a year to get another job but for the 19/20 season I will be in charge of Whitehawk.

I'm taking the plunge...

After 4 years of playing the exact same game with the exact same team, I've decided to start unemployed and see what happens.

I've also gone a bit rogue by playing classic mode as opposed to the full game. I don't get that much time to play anymore and I rarely make use of statistical analysis etc on the full game so it kind of made sense to try classic. Anyone else playing on classic mode?

No. I think I started a game once but couldn't get the hang of it, don't remember why not. Be interested to see how you find it.

Hi lads, my macbook straight up refuses to play FM without overheating (despite not overheating for pretty much anything else I throw at it and the specs are waayyyy above what is needed to play the game but whatever).

What's the cheapest laptop I could buy to play it and what specs are ideal? Bear in mind the laptop would purely be for FM.

After a couple of hours playing classic today I decided it wasn't for me. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just didn't feel right.

I am however going to try the full game with a similar unemployed challenge.

Macbook pro? I have one aswell and FM makes my computer well hot, but I got a cooling fan stand thingy which actually works really well.

Yeah, they're not built for games I don't think. It runs everything smoothly, FM included but it just gets progressively hotter with any sort of game despite the CPU handling it well. Design fault or the fans being too small is my guess. Do those cooling stands actually work then? What kind have you got?

Yeh I know. Err well the one I have is pretty cool as it plugs into the USB port to turn the fan on. Unfortunately I have no idea where I got it as it was a present. I can try and find out and report back.

In my 3rd season with Elgin.

In my first season ended 4th in the Scottish League 2. Went out to Forfar in the playoffs after losing 3-1 at home and drawing 2-2 away. The next season, I won the league. Currently in the Scottish League 1. I'm going to update this story on another forum so you can expect me to post those stories over here as well.

Dover Athletic - 2015/16 (3rd season)
Pre Season

dover1.png

We've completed our preparations for our first season in the Conference Premier & have put in a few good showings against decent opposition during pre season, notably a win over League One side Scunthorpe United. As noted before my pre season was heavily disrupted by the loss of both my highly talented GK's (Maik Taylor, who was also my GK coach & promising youngster Mitch Walker, who has now rocked up at Chesterfield in League Two) due to them not wanting to sign a new contract. I'm still unsure if I've got adequate quality in that area despite signing 24 year old Latvian Elvijs Putnins from Maidenhead United & former Brighton youth prospect Oliver Wray. The rest of my team I'm pretty happy with Rian Carroll, Sam Saunders & Harry Lee really impressing. For once I am not blasting my (now improved) wage budget, currently only spending about £10K per week out of a possible £11.6K so I have the opportunity to reinforce the team with new signings if needed.

The Conference Premier kicks off with a trip to Braintree Town, who finished 13th in the league last season. Overall the league is looking pretty strong... Luton still here while Lincoln back up from a season in the Conference North. Newport County, Northampton Town & Morecombe have all dropped out of the league over the past couple of seasons.

Bolton 2024/25 update... 7th in League 1 after 15 games. Team is slowly adapting to tactics (still only about 50% there) so there is room for improvement still - will aim for a playoff place now.
I've been stitched up here.

My players are FURIOUS at my failing to strengthen the squad during the January window. I can't strengthen the squad because we have no money. I *physically* can't do it. Now we're lower midtable and I've got a mutiny on my hands. Will be lucky to last the season. I've lost the dressing room!!!

Thankyou brother, I can find where to get it from - there's just loads of makes and alternatives, so if you could just look at what model/make it is that would be superb.

I've got an Acer laptop, not a Mac, but I had a very similar problem. My computer actually shut itself down on a couple of occasions due to over heating so I invested in a cooling mat and it's really done the trick. This is the one I use and it's great:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Z...&sr=8-7&keywords=laptop+cooling+fan+microsoft

It's a microsoft fan, but I should imagine it would work OK with a Mac. I might be wrong though, it's not really my area of expertise!

Sounds like the players don't respect you, Smat.

Err, it's a Macally ECOFANXL. Hope it helps!
