Both seasons I have played I have made it to the 3rd round. Last season was West Ham, lost 0-1 and this season it's Tranmere, who I play very soon.

I don't think I've ever celebrated so much for FM goals as much as I did for the 2nd and 3rd in this...

After a good run we're now second with 8 games to go. Gateshead have stolen away with the league, no hope of catching them, but I am 6 points clear of 6th so my play-off place should hopefully be confirmed soon enough.

I also managed to get an FA Cup third round game away at Man City. We lost 7-0, but it did bring in a hell of a lot of money. Should keep the club in the black for a good few years.

What do you normally look for a in goalkeeper?

I've not had much luck with any on this game, even Loris was pretty average when I was at Spurs. The one I have now is pretty decent so far, although he's been out on the piss twice and missed training.

Got through to the 1st round of the FA Cup with Whitehawk who are cash strapped and we get bloody Salisbury.

In my book they've gotta be tall. Attributes wise I look for:

Aerial Ability, Command of area, communication, handling, reflexes, positioning, bravery, concentration.

Anyway, at the end of January and we're 2nd in the table. smat I'm on my way! :woot:

Who knows, I'll have to wait and see what comes up. Skrill Premier teams won't touch me. The league was really tight this time around and we dropped into 16th, I'd run out of ideas by then and pretty much resigned myself to the sack.

I am going to load Scotland up too, I might get something there at the end of the season.

Zola just won the premiership with Sunderland! Astonishing scenes, they also won the Europa league. Whitehawk went down.....

After my overly confident predictions of a play-off place, we went on a disastrous run and have only just scraped into the top 5. 4 points clear with 1 to play so I'm guaranteed a spot. My contract is up at the end of the season but I've declined new talks. Want to see the outcome of the play-offs before making a decision.

I got offered the Bradford Park Avenue job but turned it down because I felt it would be a similar story to my job at Whitehawk. I then missed out on the Alftreton Town job but was lucky with my next application at Aldershot.

I am pretty happy with that, they just missed out on the play-off's last season and are a ex league club so hopefully I can attract some decent players.

Jesus. It's a different world, we get over 1k through the gate every other week and our bank balance is well into the black. I will fuck this right up you can be sure of it.

Lost out in the play-off semi finals. Handed in my notice at Macclesfield, hoping to get something in League 2 for the new season.

Might have been a mistake though, so far three job applications, two interviews, zero offers.

The Coventry Board are doing my head in and keep cutting everything, which is understandable given the financial situation but I fell just short of the PO's for the second season in a row. Just haven't got the money for a really good CB or, particularly, an ST that'd make a difference. I'm having to take gambles all the time and I can't afford the wage of decent loan players either.

Now about to go into my 2nd full season with them. Only 3 new players signed and only 17 in the squad currently. Got a couple of weeks to try and fill a few spaces.

Currently 7th in the Prem with PNE, coming to the end of the January transfer window.

Twatty Everton keep unsettling my players though, Callum McManaman is throwing a little strop at present who is surprisingly unreal on this game, only paid £700k for him too.

GK: Remy Riou, Jonathan Bond
DR: Loris Nery, Roberto Rosales (Loan)
DC: Marian Sarr, Bailey Wright, Shane O'Neill, Tom Clarke
DL: Luke Garbutt, Angelino (Loan)
RW: Callum McManaman, Bertrand Traore (Loan)
CM: Ouasim Bouy, Lucas Deaux, Alan Browne, Adan Gurdiel
LW: Matos, Ivan Bella
AM: Josh Brownhill, Mitija Lotric
ST: Nikos Karelis, Sandro Ramirez

Riou
Nery, Wright, Sarr, Garbutt
Deaux, Bouy
McManaman, Brownhill, Matos

After being turned down by every club I applied for during pre-season.... :fing: I eventually managed to get the Luton job.

I was surprised by this, because over summer League 2 sides weren't interested, yet Luton are League 1. Maybe teams are more desperate during the season when the threat of relegation looms.

Are they in dire financial straits? Think it's quite easy to get a job at a club with no money.

Not particularly. The budget isn't the largest but they're 1.8 million in the black and made a profit last season, albeit a negligible one.

Played one game so far, at home, against Walsall, one of the few teams below us in the league. Went 2-0 up, thinking life was great.

Lost 4-2. Wankers.

How do people approach match preparation in training? I've always left it as it starts, with only the training session before a game being dedicated to match preparation, but I was wondering if anyone else dedicates more [or even less] time to preparing for a game? And has it had any noticeable impact?

I swear whenever I write in here I lose the next game :(.

Re match prep, can't say I do a lot on that front to be honest. If my assistant believes I should change it (and I'm playing a struggling side) I will change to, say, attacking movement. Likewise if I'm playing a good side I spend the days before working on defence.

I haven't devoted loads of time to it though, so can't tell if it has had a huge impact, so now I'm not sure if theres much point in this post. Oh well :woot:

Don't worry about it, I've got bigger things to worry about at present. Apparently I'm one game away from being sacked. Uh oh.

Should I jump ship before they get the chance?

Managed to hold it off for the time being. There's a mini-league of 6 teams at the bottom of the league, with 4 relegation spots to fill.

I'm currently 'top' of the group, but only one point from safety with seven games to go. It's going to get tense.

Relegation? RELEGATION? Not on my watch.

4 wins in 5 games has seen us safe with 2 matches to spare. Never in doubt :shifty:

Is nothing ever good enough?!

Despite my end of season heroics, guaranteeing League 1 football at Kenilworth Road for another year, the board felt it necessary to hold an end of season meeting to discuss my failures as a manager, nay, as a human being. As such, if I don't win 6 points from my first five games of next season, I'm out.

In other news, Burnley have just bought Jack Wilshere for 3.5 million in June 2017. Didn't see that coming.

6 points from 5 games is at least a very modest target!

Arsenal are up from the Championship as champions, as would be expected. That's three promotions, yellow.

Also I'm in the FA Cup semi final against Liverpool. I have only played one Premier League team in this run, and that was Everton in the quarters. Beat them 8-3 :giphy:
