Does anyone else tend to find that former managers go back to their old clubs a lot more commonly on FM?

Just in 2.5 years on my game Everton have had Martinez, Holloway then Moyes.
QPR sacked Redknapp for Warnock.
Steve McClaren went back to Middlesbrough.

Exciting end to the season. Not for us, we're either going to finish in 7th/8th (zzzzz), but Arsenal might go down. We just thumped them 5-1 at the Emirates leaving them three points adrift on the final day. They're away to Forest, who are already relegated and lost eight in a row, and will be hoping we can beat 17th placed Sunderland, who have an inferior goal difference. Tottenham could go down on goal difference too.

Hope Arsenal go down, 'cos then I'd apply for the inevitably-vacant post and have loads of fun in the Championship.

Haha. They are down. I did my best to save them with a 6-3 hammering of Sunderland, but they managed to lose 1-0 to Forest. Brilliant! I hope I get the job (sorry Burnley).

Beat Wolves 4-1 but lost 2-0 to Chelsea (two late goals) in the next round. Still netted about £225k from the FA Cup run, so not too bad.

Signed Eoin Doyle on loan and terminated McNulty's loan so he's gone back to Sheffield United. Almost signed Jonathan Grounds on a free on £500/week but he went to Dundee for £2.2/week. Not sure what twisted his arm on that one...

12th after 6 games. 2 wins and 3 draws though (two of which have seen 90th min equalisers for the opposition).

Next game is Wrexham which should be interesting. Also Ian Holloway has said I could be out of a job if I lose.

Fuck off Ian.

What year are you in? Leaving Burnley is undoubtedly a terrible move, but I can see the appeal of taking charge of Arsenal in the Championship.

Well my start is pretty good in league two, after 8 games I sit in 2nd after hammering Southend 1-4.

Could back to back promotions be on? I certainly think I can give it a good shot

I'm halfway through the season with Whitehawk and in the play offs. I think we should manage to stay here, our defence is still poor but we do keep the odd clean sheet so that's why were doing a bit better.

We have the 8th biggest budget in the league so we're doing about average I guess
but I'm happy. We are constantly in debt but
the board are happy to pump 50k in every other month.

Sadly we went out of both cups in the first round. :(

Interesting move for you Smat should be good fun.

My phones messed up the formatting of this
Post....

Getting back into my main save again. Third season with Reading.

Mid-November and currently 10th in the league, would be happy enough with that at the end. Don't feel quite ready for Europe yet.

League Cup has gone as terribly as always, beat Fleetwood 4-3 in the second round, and in the third I lost to a Championship side again, Southampton. 2-0 up, they level to 2-2, we both have a centreback sent off, they win 9-8 on penalties.

Gone on a MASSIVE risk in January, spending £11m on a goalkeeper at Watford. Does look class and aged 17 (third season) has 20 league games experience - 16 Championship, 4 Prem. Hopefully I can continue mid table mediocrity in the Prem and he can get some games. I was really lacking in English players and I hope i've got England's new #1.

2028. I holidayed the first five years and my career started in 2019.

The squad is a disaster, I had one 32-year-old on £215k (funnily enough Burnley signed him. Now managed by Mancini). Got rid of a raft of proven but unhappy players and now my team is mostly youngsters with the odd quality moaner I couldn't shift, and led by 37-year-old Aaron Ramsey. Beat fellow relegated side Norwich 3-1 on the opening day to quell the nerves.

Just lost 5-0 in back-to-back games away at Man Utd and Liverpool. Hate that these clubs seem to score with every single chance whereas I create almost as many chances and get nothing to show for it. Put me from one of the better defences outside the top 4, to second worst in the league.

Anyone got any advice on how to play these tough away games? I'm a midtable Prem club and sometimes i'm helpless like above and sometimes I do alright. Last season I beat United 4-3 and have drawn 0-0 away at City and Arsenal with these same tactics, but just occasionally I get absolutely destroyed.

Got Tottenham next week to try and pick up form. But, Utd (A), Liverpool (A) and Tottenham (A) in a row, I'm not sure what i've done to offend the people who decide the fixture lists.. Oh and City (A) next month too. Fun times..

Left myself with too much to do in the second half of the season in the end, falling 5 points short.

Most of those I signed have one year options in, but I could do with signing up two strikers Denny Johnstone and Liam Coogan on loan again or permanent. They got 12 and 18. Top scorer was Ben Williamson, who I'd earmarked as a 3rd/4th striker, with 24. Just need to try and wangle a bit more money off the board for a little bit more quality at CB and ST (or two).

Was close to selling John Fleck for £1.2m in the January window but opted against it in the end just as he was about to sign. 15 goals and 17 assists in the end.

Perhaps he'll be able to teach his new boss about loyalty.

Portsmouth pissed L1 on my game, btw.

And having worked hard to get the wage bill down and have everyone earning smaller amounts, the new guy went and signed Rickie Lambert and put him on £10k/week - £8k/week more than the next high earner!

Frustrating session today. Played 11 games and every game I won was followed by a loss, not a problem for a couple of games but after a while it starts to dent your points total. Very frustrating and with 12 games left we have dropped out of the top 5, hopefully it doesn't upset our season totally.

I hate that. A bit like you, it isn't as plain-sailing as I hoped with Blackpool. Still got two thirds of the season to go though so fingers crossed I can get it right before I get sacked.

No catching you then!;)

I've played 3 games, and I've realized already I'm going to concede very few, but I'm not going to score many either, despite having Akinde, Tom Eaves, MacDonald etc..

The creativity in the team is shite.

Sit tight - a lot of incoming 0-0's..

I have Tom eaves on loan for league two and he's really good, putting in plenty of good performances and averages a 7.3.

I originally started with a direct 442 to keep solid, but then I changed my plan to a 4231 and I found good use as they seem to have a few attacking midfielders that were useless in the previous formation. Akinde scored 30 in 43 for me, but was injured for 2-3 months of the season so you should get plenty of goals with him

1st February and I'm 3rd in League 2 with Stevenage after telling the press I'd get promotion after I lost the PO final. Hopefully I can maintain this position. Signed Kwesi Appiah for quite a bit in the first season, that bloke is goals. Signed Chris Long from Everton after his contract expired, he's not doing too badly either. ON STEVENAGE ON.

That's some pretty rapid progress. Any tips on how to accelerate through the leagues? I feel like my fate lies beyond the Vanarama Conference.

Started a game on FM14 earlier. Wasn't sure who to go so loaded up Prem, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Eredivisie, Serie A, Potugal top division and La Liga. Started unemployed with International footballer as my reputation, and also made myself Argentinian. The idea is just to win the league with one team then move on to any other team, including rivals, when the opportunity presents itself

After missing out on the Moenchengladbach and PSV jobs, and declining interviews for Gronigen and Montpellier, I took over at Feyenoord towards the end of December. We had no money to spend, but thankfully my better players were all still here. The previous manager decided to give most of the available wages to 34 year old Seol Ki-Hyun, ruining any chance I had to adding a couple of loans to the squad.

I'm quite happy with the first XI, except I don't really have any decent strikers. Colin-Kazim Richards is here on loan but isn't great. However I'm happy with Classie, Boetius, Joostra, Mulder & Kongolo. Vilhena is going to be good too but he's just got back from injury. So far I've won 7 and lost 2 games, both away. Risen from 9th to 4th so far, currently in February.
