There's going be some big clubs in the national league next season probably more attractive fixtures in that league than going places like stevenage or having the 50 fans of Crawley Salford Barrow ect celebrating an away win.

Huge win, thought we had chucked away the chance after about 70 minutes. Great win.

Looking at the fixtures I think it’s crucial we get above Colchester ASAP, be it by beating them next week and results going well as they have a hideous run in.

Walsall look like they are nose diving so again if we can jump above then it would help.

Get tomorrow out the way and we’ve some nicer fixtures on paper.

Suddenly the three points cushion, the goal difference and the 2/3 games in hand all look very positive for us - and the performance was pretty decent. Great goal just as Walsall were getting on top, but having seen them twice now they've got to be one of the worst teams in this league. Still time for them to be dragged into it.

Walsall two wins in 15.... both against us! Looked dreadful both times but shows how much of a bollock we dropped with implosion at their place when cruising and two huge clangers at our place.

We have made a 1m loss this season despite selling 4000 season tickets over 10,000 replica shirts and been in the top 5 watched teams in this division on the ifollow. If we end up in the national league we will drop to 2500 crowds in a 20,000 stadium and make something like a 3m loss. The shanahans won't cover a 3m loss so if we go down then we will go bust and be gone for good.

Tranmere's crowds went up in the National League, and were not the only club that's happened to. A lot of sides have benefited from their time down there, as it inspired a rebuild and got the club united again - its probably due to the fact you end up winning more often than not, and the novelty of it. It's certainly not a disaster - I have some fond memories.

I can imagine the novelty factor will be somewhat less for Grimsby, mind.

No chance, if the worst happens and hopefully it won’t ok confident in our chances of coming back, had we gone down two years ago then Smurf would have killed the club off for sure.

They are about to invest in a new training ground it was revealed yesterday and after a year away I dare say we’d see large home fans certainly at the start of the season... plus you’d hope we’d win more games so likely keep them.

The million loss they talk about but have revealed the 10k shirt sales and 97% of ST holders not claiming refunds have allowed them to spend 500k on Vale Park.

Not to mention the 300k of the EFL 72 clubs 1,000,000 meals we’ve provided.

Hopefully though it’s academic and easier fixtures with signs of improvement and returning key players push us away in the coming weeks.

Where have those figures come from? plus you have a quarter season to go
Are they not last seasons accounts?

They’ve lost £1 million over the course of the pandemic, mostly I assume as they paid the 20% of the furloughed wage and loss in terms of corporate events etc.

That said shirt sales were 10,000 up from 3,500, we had the Man City cash and only 2% have asked for season tickets refunds which were up to 4000 this season. Add in IFollow and less costs on Match Days the figure seems high... what they could mean is the club lost £1,000,000 in estimated revenue I guess and it’s been worded wrong.

They invested loads in terms of things we wouldn’t have under Norman, 500k on the ground (seats in Lorne Street, replaced other seats), DOF, the NI U21 coach to come
In until the end of the season etc and now apparently a new training ground away from Vale Park so they’ve spent the money this year, if financially it was a problem they’d not spend it.

Ridiculous post.

No way are Salford taking as many as 50 fans anywhere.

Yes the accounts may be for last season. The are going to be some awful financial results for this present season

I fear for Walsall after that, definitely the worst I've witnessed this season.

Fair play Barrow. Bet you lot were bouncing around your front rooms when that winner went in. 7 points off safety now for us. Anything less than a win tomorrow and we'll be lying down and sending out the invites to come and put a fork in us.

It infuriates me watching Barrow pull results from their arse whilst we regularly set fire to our own.

That’s what’ll send us down

Seeing as both ourselves and Scunthorpe had 0 shots on target on Tuesday and we've forgotten how to create chances and score, I wouldnt be suprised to see another boring and dull game tomorrow.

We desperatly need the season to end as well, we've just been bumbling along for the last 2 months. Ten games ago we was 7th, now we're 14th looking for a new manager and facing the prospect of one hell of a rebuild in the summer with only 6 contracted players signed up for next season - So personally I want this season over with.

Not beaten Scunthorpe since August 2002 as well.

0-0 or a 1-0 loss as E10Rifle already said.

IMO we need a new experienced manager to come in, but I will give Jobi the next 4 games until the end of March to paint a bigger of picture of what he can possibly do. So far we've looked no different than we did under Embleton.
It's gonna be a shocker.

We're gonna have to play our 4th choice CB and our RB as our CB pairing due to injuries so that should at least guarantee a goal for Orient.

If we attack tomorrow like we did on Tuesday then we won't score until next season, it was horrific.

I do think from the outside looking in it appears Walsall are suffering right now due to taking the cheap option after DC leaving as well as selling a couple of your players in January. Obviously everyone has to cut their cloth accordingly and like us I think you may well scrape over the line but at some point the more expensive option is not doing anything.

Good morning you set of Stokie Bastards........Up for it today.
Dont matter if its lge 2 we both would be up for this if fans were allowed in.
I am not having this as a gimme, i think you are better than what you league position says.
There again theres no way we are the 7th best team in this lge right now so the same applies for us.

Think we will just have the one change Isgrove will come in for Fonz . Isgrove gets the nod away as he works a little more then fonz.

Good battle on our left Vales right between John and Worrell
And another could be between Dave and Santos ....looking forward to this more than FGR in a fortnight

Not really, haven’t been “up” for a game since November it’s been tedious.

Would have been decent if fans were there I guess.

See at 2pm who is to play, Wozza should play, was unplayable Tuesday so must be fully fit. Hopefully Monty returns but you have to read the riddles of Clarke’s pre match interviews.

0-2 probably today. Lots of effort and battle, zero up top.

Ah great, we're playing the diamond formation and have our best player on the bench.

Can't wait another game with 0 shots on target.

Agree totally, but for every Luton, Bristol Rovers and Lincoln...who have all prospered since returning to the Football League...the National League is a hell of a difficult league to get out of in the right direction, just ask the fans of teams like Wrexham, Notts County and Lincoln till the Cowleys arrived on the scene.

Generally teams that do get relegated to non-league tend to hang about for more than one season.
Your three examples of teams who have prospered since return to EFL show show that up:

Luton Town: 4 seasons in Non-League

2010-11 CONF-Nat 46 23 15 8 85 37 84 3/24
2011-12 CONF-Nat 46 22 15 9 78 42 81 5/24
2012-13 CONF-P 46 18 13 15 70 62 67 7/24
2013-14 CONF-P 46 30 11 5 102 35 101 1/24

Lincoln: 6 seasons in Non-League
2011-12 CONF-Nat 46 13 10 23 56 66 49 17/24
2012-13 CONF-P 46 15 11 20 66 73 56 16/24
