Aside from the opening day to beat us a side has had to score 3 once and 4 the other so I guess if we keep scoring and asking that of opponents we will do alright this season!

Hopefully Wilson will carry on from the weekend as he is finally looking fit and enjoying himself lately. He’s a level above any striker we’ve had in terms of technical ability in years.

Still worried we are due a shitter!

(although we obviously lose 0-2 now).

Isn’t Bahamboula on international duty which would make Oldham less of a worry?
Ah not sure, but that’d be good if he was missing…Seems like he can be their match winner on his day.

As long as we turn up and play to our best, we should win the game fairly comfortably, but it’s never that easy!

In all comps Orient are on 3. I think that’s the best current run?
4 now and the return of Adam Thompson tonight is great news. If we had a centre midfield we’d be dangerous.

Thats why he is in league two, one week he does things no league 2 player should be able to do, the next week he does nothing.
Is he rubbish, no, he is inconsistant.

Bahamboula is making a nasty habit out of turning up against Tranmere. There was a prolonged spell in last nights game where no Tranmere player could get near him. Best player on field in the the last 3 games against Oldham.

Good job for you lot our other 10 players are garbage lol
Think you're being harsh on your team there. Dearnley was a Joe Murphy block away from a hattrick and there were some decent performances from names less familiar to me like Bettache Diarra and Couto

Couto looks a good player. I was impressed with him against us also.

I don't think Oldham are that bad. I just think that things off the pitch have been a distraction. There's a bad vibe throughout the club which probably doesn't help the product on the pitch. They have a few talented players in my opinion.

Holohan out for us whilst Killip and Sterry are doubts. Could be a big game for Sweeney as it might be his last as caretaker. However, if rumours are true he doesn’t want the job anyway. Should be a decent atmosphere with it being Friday night. Fancy a win, 2-1 Pools.

Something to encourage Bradford I guess is DC just been named the manager of the month for second time in a row. First ever Vale manager to do it consecutively even including Sir John Rudge. That said last time we won it we went and lost at Sutton..

It's the perfect storm. Plus they have one or two back from injury. I'm accepting defeat tomorrow...it just seems inevitable.

This is how programmed us Valiants have become! 10 Wins in 12, scoring goals for fun and still the clouds of Vale sides past haunt us don't they?!

If we win tomorrow with everything going for us at the moment and don't choke maybe we can really start believing in this Vale side not to be "Typical old Port Vale", I'm more nervous than I probably should be about it that's for sure.

Yep. We've been burnt so many times before that you just come to expect it.

Win tomorrow and it's on !

Couto is very good. Only 18 I think and come into the first team due to the long list of injuries but has looked at home since day one. Best news of the season was tying him up with a 3 year deal but fully expect he’ll play at least a couple of divisions up in time.

As for Saturday, fair play to any latics fan travelling for it. Another game where I’m expecting us to rollover. Exeter are clearly a good team and we are not. As someone else put in the thread, there’s a bad feeling about the club, though there has been for a good number of years now. Can’t muster any enthusiasm for it at the moment and didn’t even consider going. Hoping for better times some time soon. 2-0.

Really feel for the Oldham fans at the moment, great club with great fans. A number of our fans who went to Boundary Park were quick to mention how generous you guys were about us and it was evident how low Oldham fans are right now. Really hope you get your ownership issues sorted and you can move in an upward trajectory. Early days for us but you can see how good owners at both ourselves and Vale can make such a difference whereas the nasty guys at clubs like Oldham really do drag 'em down.

It always feels like a matter of when, not if doesn't it! Failure is almost always inevitable in Burslem!

I'd usually agree. Not this squad though.

We just overcome every obstacle.

We may lose tomorrow. But we'll then probably go unbeaten until after Christmas, such is the way we are right now. I don't get worried much. MOTM curse is a completely psychological myth.

The only reason I'm nervous about tomorrow is being live on Sky Sports. It's a huge opportunity to show a much wider audience what we're capable of and the chance to go top of the league. Slight nerves but definitely not negative.

this bit:

Due to forward intelligence, Anti social behaviour, explosive and drugs detection dogs provided by Wagtail Event Detection Dogs will be employed at turnstiles.

If the dogs indicate traces of drugs, fireworks, flares, smoke bombs or other pyrotechnics, any individuals indicated will be removed from the turnstile queues and subjected to a thorough search.

If any drugs or pyros are found these individuals will be refused entry to the match and may be arrested and prosecuted.

In the event of any disorder, bars will not reopen at half time.

sounds odd, we never usually have trouble with bradford do we? maybe just don't want any incidents during a televised game?

I'd best make sure i leave my explosives at home for this one.

In all the what seems 99 million times us and Bradford have played each other never known any issues. Don’t see why this would be different to be honest.

I remember the "Forward Intelligence" when we played Doncaster which nearly led to a postponement and military style police levels... was peaceful and went well.

Dazzler has been great managing emotions and does seem to have them in the right mental state, if we can win this and not fall flat when expected he may actually be the one!

Away at Rochdale who's league form has been up and down, but more up recently.

Alot depends on us whether we're able to convert chances, we're hard to break down and have 4 clean sheets in a row in all comps, but we don't always put teams to bed. For most of our wins this season we've scored 3s, 4s and a 5 - we either seem to kill the games off or not at all. Last week against Ebbsfleet we really should've killed the game off before the last 10mins when they threw the sink at us.

First trip to Spotland in 6 years for us, what was once a very regular fixture with us both being in the bottom tier up until 2006, since then we've only been in the same league in 4 seperate seasons including this one.
