Not sure how you felt but it went quite quick for a 0-0.

My first away game in the League, so despite the drabbish game a decent day out nonetheless.
Yeah, well the football wasn't too bad from either side, which is saying something for us. If you added goals (i.e. better finishing) to both then it would probably have been 2-2 or something.

Good clearance, would have been a robbery if we were to get anything
He has been immense this season, only his first season in league football. I was expecting a lot more from Northampton given the league positions and we struggle at home

That was pretty embarrassing, we're just not learning. We move the ball fall too slowly and we've got nothing going forwards. Losing at home to one man and his dog will never grow old. My inner communist also resents losing to small teams from affluent areas, so a 1-0 defeat at home to Sutton where we had one shot on target and had to shoot the wrong way second half really does tick all the boxes of an excellent weekend.

Credit to Oldham, they came and tried to play football unlike 80% of the teams in L2.
They looked pretty good in attack and midfield just their defending was poor. If they tighten up at the back they will avoid relegation for sure.

Define ‘dangerous’. If it’s crossing a ball into the box with one player forward then we’re definitely dangerous. We started will first 10. After that, our usual toothless garbage.
Well I did say we needed another goal. Would like to see the Oldham goal again as I can't believe Dawson was beaten from there. Should really have been out of sight.
Still, another win and finally in the top three. Happy days

Could have gone worse for us overall today. Got Oldham away next week before Walsall and Hartlepool at home. Football doesn’t work like this but I’d be wanting a minimum 7 points out of them fixtures.

See Scunny have got a draw with Salford. Given how that club is run got to think Bowyer is on borrowed time. Not getting any return on that outlay at all.

We’ve scored 12 goals in 16 games!!

I’ve seen a few comments this week saying we don’t look that bad. I appreciate that we try play some neat stuff on the half way line but we are completely toothless with no cutting edge. Defensively, you’re right, we’re not great but our main problem lies up front because we don’t have a striker. I’d rather we had a few cloggers and just hoofed it. Without additions in Jan, we’re down.

I would have settled for a draw but we caught Pools completely by surprise by putting four in the box for a cross in the 93rd minute.

Good to see the Remembrance stuff on the appropriate weekend and the bugler was superb.
Agreed. The bugler was as excellent as he was unexpected. I didn't even know we had buglers in the town. Burglars, maybe...

Today sums up why we are doomed.

Two points drop against a terrible Salford side. We make one stupid individual and they punish us, they make countless and we never make anything of them.

Should be out the bottom 2 right now.

Bowyer is doing a terrible job really. I watched them on the TV the other night and thought they lacked quality. Considering their outlay on wages they should be minimum top 7 and nearly losing against a pretty poor Scunthorpe team is not great.

Results went for us in general today, so that point looks better, with the chance to go top next week still. Very tight around the top 7 though.

At least you can score a goal. The last time we scored a goal in the league at Brunton park was our late equaliser against you.

Bloody hell, we won again.

Don’t win forever and then go and win 4 on the bounce, like buses.

Sounded like stevenage were unlucky, thankfully they have jamie reid upfront, who isn’t a footballer

And yet you're still above us

you’re showing signs of life though and keith hill is a great appointment, i expect next week to be a tough game for us, it’s the type of game mansfield normally lose

Your manager means nothing when you're cost almost every week but individual errors.

We will gift you a goal next week, you will try and gift us one back yet we will waste it

We were so crap today. Had a decent spell in the first half and should've been ahead at half-time (was Zanzala's miss as bad as it looked from side-on?). Second half was one of the dreariest 45 mins I've ever seen - only perked up when Carlisle had a spell of pressure and hit the bar. We've lost something lately and just become very boring - need a convincing win against Crawley to kickstart our season.

Bowyer is a terrible manager. Won't find a single person in Bradford who is surprised that he's struggling at Salford.

If Salford played anyone but the worst side in the FL today they would have been spanked, they're a team of quality individuals but they're not a team at all. No cohesion and no leaders in their team.

IMHO not being able to score is probably the simplest problem to fix for a manager... not necessarily the easiest, but the simplest. You just need to bring in a goalscorer. If we'd played the way we did today but had someone like Jabo or Charlie Wyke playing for us then we'd have scored. You've got to find the player though, which is why I made the distinction between simple and easy.

If a team can't defend, or have a weak midfield then you might need to bring in players but inevitably the manager also needs to make changes to the system or on the training pitch; you can't usually just slap a new player in and everything works out... and while sometimes a manager can coach an underperforming player to be better, or alter the system it is more often a simple case of slapping a new player in.

If Keith Millen can get us more organised, tougher and playing better football then at least he just has this scoring issue to deal with and hopefully ease us to safety.

Well that Bahamboula was odd. Turned up wearing white leggings and basically just tried to do loads of flicks and tricks which never came off. I assume we saw him on an off day!

Overall, we deserved it after a slow first 15 mins when Oldham looked dangerous. Jay’s goal gave us the impetus to improve our game and we did well thereafter.

So pleased for Jevani Brown on his first goal. He really has been very good this season when many said he’d be awful.

Oldham made a game of it with what looked like a worldie but thankfully we managed to see the game out.

14 league games unbeaten, 18 in all comps. Looking good but a long way to go, plus December sees us up against some of the top teams, which will be a huge test.

Strange, I thought he was good for the first half hour, just needed someone to spot his passes.
He did fade second half so I wasn't surprised he went off

Worst performance of the season at home but got a point so worn grumble. Annoyed to drop the two points though but losing Wilson killed us.
Think today, we cancelled each other out. It showed that you are technically better than us but we worked hard as a team. We had a massive stroke of luck in the first half but probably deserve a ref decision going our way. Until the 85th min, we had the better of the chances. Your goal was the type we give away every game. Think you should let us have your no 10. A free transfer perhaps?

I agree we maybe would have. If only we could go out and sign someone like that tomorrow, but unfortunately we have to wait best part of 2 months till we can. We have failed to score in 7 of our last 8 league games. That is diabolical. Continue like that and we could well be too many points adrift come start of January for it to be salvageable.

It is very noticeable how much better in possession we’ve become under Millen in a short amount of time so credit to him for that. As he keeps saying, while we have the ball the opposition can’t score and he’s right. We will still concede some goals because our centre backs are shite, but I reckon having 61% of possession today helped get us the clean sheet as it meant there was less frequent pressure on our defence. That and Zanzala having a brain fart in front of goal. He’s been able to do this because we have the players to play possession passing football. Unfortunately turning us into a goal scoring team won’t be as easy as in this case we don’t have the players for scoring goals. Like you say, one signing could make the world of difference, but it should have been made in the summer. By January it might be too late if teams around us pick up a few wins over the next 7 weeks.

We’ve only just gotten even for Guthrie. Conlon fortunately signed a long extension with us in the summer. Probably our best business.

Agree with the rest though. I think it was two pretty evenly matched teams playing a good highly competitive game. Angol really added a new dimension to your play when he came on. Shame we didn’t have Leon in that moment he scored, he might have made it more awkward for the header.
