I'm still trying to figure out where I've seen her before!? Didn't even catch her name, so annoying.

What an ending. Nothing even comes close to the big dramatic scenes in GoT. Absolutely nothing.

I completely missed that, then. I really want to get around to a reread but I'm waiting for a release date for TWoW. Anyone tried reading AFFC and ADWD together? I know there's a way of doing it which almost makes it one huge book.

To be fair I missed pretty much everything that wasn't spelled out for me on my read through! rereading only made me appreciate the books more and got me completely hooked, the amount of foreshadowing and detail is ridiculous.

When I finished the latest book I remember immediately reading internet forums etc and have spoilered myself on loads of things which I kinda regret, but then we'll see the ending in a couple of years anyway so....

I know of R + L = J(doesn't everyone?) and Clegane vs Clegane. Apart from that, I'm still fairly naive on all the theories. People are too smart and work things out in detail. I like to be surprised when it actually does happen!

Just caught up with this. First experience of what it's like as a non-book reader. Wow.

For a second I was convinced they were going to kill off Jon early in that fight with the Walker

And away from the main event, Dany and Tyrion's meeting lived up to expectation, which is some feat. I could happily watch an entire episode of them just sitting at a table sparring.

Also, I loved the parallels between Cersei and Ned's imprisonment in season 1

It's almost certain that Olly will do the stabbing judging by the scene with Sam about the "greater good" today. Kit Harington has signed on for two more series' so will either survive it or be resurrected, either by Melisandre or the Night's King himself who will attempt to make him commander of the White Walkers.

So far I've not really had any problems with the show in terms of plot holes. I mean yeah flying dragons and fire ladies are a bit far fetched but that's the allure for you.

What I can't get my head around is this Sparrow business. How were they portrayed in the book? I just find it absolutely ridiculous how a militant group of fanatics can be given power and have such a hold so quickly that they are able to lock up the queen mother, the queen and the queens brother without being absolutely butchered. Especially now Cersei is in. Surely it wouldn't take much from the Kingsguard to just wipe these clowns out.

Secondly- Jaime in Dorne. Wtf is this about. Ridiculous plot, ridiculous fight scene against the sand snakes. No time for it. Loved dem boobies though.

pretty much with the Sparrow stuff, the residents of Kings Landing are god fearing people so what they say goes

Jaime doesnt go to Dorne in the books, he instead acts in a diplomatic to stop the ongoing war, ending sieges at Riverrun for the twins.

There was a scene in an earlier ep that explained the power the faith militant have. When Tommen went to try and see the High Sparrow and was blocked by armed guys. The Kingsguard could have cleared them out, but you could see the people shouting and getting edgy. Unless you want the entirety of Kings Landing rioting and overthrowing the ruling elite, you'd better leave them alone. It's that kind of power balance.

A poorly thought through power balance for me. The Tyrells bring in most of the City's food - if they were threatening to "pull out" and the Queen and her brother were locked up and about to face trial who do you think the common folk would rally behind? Religion? Or the people who provide them (admittedly small amounts) of food?
