The prince that was promised to be born under a bleeding star.

Dawn placed at the end of the bed. Dawn crafted from a fallen star.

Its on

I really enjoyed this and the last episode. I thought the first half of the series was average at best though. Great ending though.

Do we think the next one will be the last or has there been more planned? The ending of that episode seemed to point towards a big finale.

2 more I think

Danny's invasion of westeros being one season and the living vs the dead being another. Supposedly they're reducing to 8 episodes next season.

Really? I've always felt like a 12 episode season would benefit the show.

But incredibly difficult to film I'd imagine given the locations they use and the fact a lot of the actors have started building lucrative careers outside of GoT.

The dragon budget for next season is going to have to be huge

Which is why I think they're reducing to 8 episodes, means they can spend more per episode while keeping the same budget per series.

It had its moments but still think this series has been poor compared with the earlier ones.

I never realised the Hound was Scottish before this episode though so things have moved on.
He used to do an ad for Scots Porridge Oats in his kilt before he lost his hair. Can't get more Scottish than that. :D

The guy that played Blackfish as well is Scottish but I noticed they dubbed him at times.

Great episode.

And I'm so glad that cnut Bolton is dead. And what a way to kill him.
He was a goner the moment he stabbed his dad. The same thing will happen to the Dorn bint.

Jaime will kill her like he did with the last mad monarch
I like the sound of that and it's quite poetic if it does happen and the quicker the better. I find myself skipping past all her scenes and the blonde dragon bint as well (really since season two with her) as it's just utter soap opera tedium.

Mind you the whole season felt that way. It has generated into farce now and the quicker it finally resolves into a sort of conclusion in the final two seasons, the better.

Jon and blondie get it on and have the most beautiful kids ever and Jaime teams up with his brother to kill Cersei. A dragon is kicked out of Westeros for being too "foreign" and Sam realises he's wasted 5 years of his life aimlessly wandering around and sets up a cult.

Will they call her aunty-mum or him cousin-dad?

So many "FUCK YEAH" moments in that episode.
think this might have been the best season tbh, it was very fan service-y but in a good way.

Do you not think the fuck yeah moments and fanservice leave you feeling empty after a cooling period, though. For example, I was gripped by the Wildfire sequence and the Robb Stark Appreciation Society biggin' up the Jon Massiv, but one is a plot device that destroys a lot of themes and character development that the show has tried to cultivate for nearly two seasons, while the other is an uncritical celebration of character that shouldn't really exist in those exulted terms anymore... Jon is not the same person as he was two seasons ago and I think it's a little bit of crap writing to draw explicit comparisons between his rise to Lord Commander and the lords nominating him for king/warden of the north. I mean, his task is grimdark and thankless, he isn't fighting for glory.

This is the biggest difference between the books and the show imo. The books are not highbrow lit or anything but they are literary: that aforementioned dev of character and theme is obvs important to Martin and does it to imbue the story with meaning. In the show, a lot of that is disregarded or else half heartedly followed Or else replaced by big showy scenes that are impressive in isolation but don't seem to tally with what came before or comes after.

The finale was the most watched Game of Thrones episode so far. 8.89 million, the next highest was last season's finale at 8.11 million.

The big question is: Can Bran possess dragons?

I doubt it. It's supposed to be easier with simple minds, and they made a point of saying "some say" dragons are more intelligent than men.

Then the big question is: Can Bran get Jim Kerr and co to help him possess dragons?

I know what you mean. I was a bit gutted they killed off Margaery and a couple of the others but at the end of the day we just have to trust that B+W know what they're doing. I'm sure GRRM will have had a lot of input this season too despite saying he wouldn't.

So here we go, Jaime will kill Cersei because she's going to go mad like 'The mad king', she'll be losing a battle with Den and try to light up some more wildfire or some shit and Jaime will plunge in the dagger on his own sister/lover/queen/yoga instructor.
Jon Snow and the boys from the black stuff will take on the lannisters in the north while Denaerys beats them up from the south. They'll meet up, Bran won't get there in time to let anyone know who Jon is, but she'll get a dragon to breathe fire all over jonboy and he'll survive, they'll figure out that makes him a targazoid which Bran will later confirm. They'll unite, and boom there's your army to fight the whiteboys from John O'Groats.
So loose ends are Arya who has to kill at least 2 more shitboxes but it's slim pickings now, probably gonna team up with the Hound who will kill or be killed by the mountain and she might take him down. Then there's Varys and littledigit. Digit will try to do Snow over and Sansa will have his pants down. Varys is setting someone up but it could be anyone. They'll probably twist him to be a proper c*** in the end because he's generally liked and that'd mess that shit up. Melisandre will just ride along and find herself a nice place to open up a sandwich shop.
