Yes, Blades had 1 year in PL averaged over 30k, next couple of years spent pushing for promotion back to PL averaging over 26k I believe. They had 5 consecutive years of larger home attendances than us (only years since 1980 they had higher average) and pulled in some really good numbers, soon as we finished above them, normal service was resumed.Sheffield United above Wednesday! that will be it then. Must admit, I enjoyed having the blades in the prem. Leeds who I would say have the biggest Fanbase out of all those clubs are right down there. Yes I know the shit they have been through, but they have never averaged over 40k in their history. Loads of fair weather fans it would seem.

during the revie years when you were one of the best teams in Europe for around 10 years Your highest average was 39k, and that was in a time when attendances were very healthy as a whole. Saying that though you've only got your nationwide Fanbase because of the revie years so that might explain why you never got great crowds back then. Every big club has fickle fans, and plenty of them. It's same with me, I have to pick and choose away games now as I've got 3 kids, but before kids I was putting in a lot more aways.I'm shocked Leeds are still where they are tbf, but that what happens when your being run like you are. We'd have to build a new stadium if you wanted to do that
Nah it's no great surprise really. Our fans are fickle (I'm sure it's the same with lots of clubs) and I'm guilty to a certain degree. Had a ST and would do 10-12 aways every year until I went to uni but it really is hard to justify spending 30 quid (plus the other expenses) to watch what has been horseshit for 90% of the last 12-15 years. Things will creep back up for us if we continue improving under Monk though. People complain about the prices justifiably but if we work our way into the top 6, our home attendances will be 30k plus every week (excluding Tuesday nights).
Ultimately it's nice to say fans should turn up to every game and pay a lot of money to do so, but ultimately years of terrible performances at terrible prices takes its toll. I've never felt more apathetic about my club between 2012 and now, but I'm much more invested now we seem to be working towards something. Not sure if it's to do with being fickle or just wanting something worth paying for really.
not many better away fans imo. Yes I know they have been through a lot and I know they pay premier league prices like some other clubs in this division. What I'm on about is the size of the Fanbase compared to their gates. I'd go as far to say there is only 3, 4 clubs max with a Fanbase like Leeds have. Leeds have fans all over the uk.In those 10 years they have had to pay a stupid amount of money and had to deal with a lot. How you can say they should be getting more is beyond me, especially as they have amazing away fans.
10 year average isnt really relevant though, as Fulham are up there but they had years in the Premiership.
I have just started posting on Owlstalk, it can make for err interesting reading sometimes, we have a fair share of idiots on there, we're either going to piss the league, or need a new manager and whole team depending on our latest result. Having said that I have been a little disappointed with our performances so far this season, but think if we do "click" we will still be there or thereabouts. Not doing too badly at the moment considering we haven't really played that well yet.Just been reading Owlstalk (I'm bored, I have a day off) and was surprised to see a few threads slating Carvahal and even asking how patient Chansiri will be with him.
With the amount of money they spent, arguably they only upgraded up top with Fletcher, but the rest of their signings (Abdi potentially excluded) were/have been pretty underwhelming.
Still think they'll be there or there abouts mind, they're probably on more points at this stage than they were last season; seem to remember they started very slowly.
Yeah, you've more than kept yourselves in contention. Despite not "clicking" just yet, you're only three points behind us and Brum.I have just started posting on Owlstalk, it can make for err interesting reading sometimes, we have a fair share of idiots on there, we're either going to piss the league, or need a new manager and whole team depending on our latest result. Fletcher's been fantastic, hold up play, awareness, strong in the air, scored a few, toss up between him and Lee for player of year so far. If we can get the best out of Hooper, Foresteiri, Bannan etc we will still be up there, but we need to start winning the more physical side of the game, allowing us to play our football, as many teams (Burton spring to mind) have beaten us by simply being physically stronger and wanting it more than us. (Not knocking Burton fully deserved win and could have been 5 or 6).Yeah, you've more than kept yourselves in contention. Despite not "clicking" just yet, you're only three points behind us and Brum.
Tough set of fixtures coming up for you lot, especially with key players from last season like Lees, Forestieri and Bannan not performing (so I read) you'll need to pick up some points along the way and stay in contention.
Out of interest, how has Fletcher been?

Wearetherangersboys for us is exactly the same. Win, and we are going up. Lose or draw at home, relegation, worst team in years. Start of the season, JFH should get a 5 year deal, now he should be sacked as he does not play 442. It is frustrating as fuck but I think it is the most active QPR board (so maybe that means most of our fans are twats?! that is a horibble realisation I had whilst typing).
It is way behind, it's taken us about 16 years to get to this point... We've had about 18 months of delays while a couple of current landowners fought a CPO, but everything has gone through now, and the diggers should move in early 2017. It's a two year build, so I'd imagine we'll either move half way through the 18/19 season or in time for 19/20.Is their stadium running to target? I heard they are running way behind.

Given we wanted to be in for the start of 17/18, it's been delayed quite a bit. I personally won't believe we're finally over the last hill until that first digger starts work.
Bet he's got loads of space around him, if he's holding a drink.Scott Carson has just walked into the boozer I'm in.
I never hated Sunderland. I've got too many Makem mates. And their club has ONLY been through lean, leaner and leanest times. NO success - like a certain team nearby in black and white (Only they don't get remotely the level of spiteful sh*t from national media)My view is that I never really had a rivalry with blues because where I'm from its villa and wolves so they were my main rivalry. Obviously as I got older it got rammed into me that we were meant to hate them and a part of me does..
