Revierderby takes the 'game of the day' spoils tomorrow, by quite a distance.

Schalke at around 6/1 is tempting. I don't actually think they'll win but that's a huge odd?

Yep, 3 goals in the last 12 minutes put Schalke to the sword :).

Bit of a quiet one in the Buli today tbh.

Dortmund really hitting their stride now. Surely too late to finish in a CL position though?

Big results for the bottom 2: Berlin beat Augsburg 1-0 and Stuttgart earned a point at Hannover 1-1. Hertha go out of the bottom three but Stuttgart stay bottom.
The big winners of the CL spots race are Leverkusen. They beat Freiburg at home while Schalke and Augsburg lost.

In the Buli Zwei, massive game in Hamburg today as St Pauli (bottom) hosted Aue (3rd bottom). A win is needed to keep the hope alive for this big club. Just one win since the Oktoberfest!

Had a cracking weekend in Frankfurt watching the football - really enjoyable experience and further highlights to me how wrong things are in England and why I am losing my interest a little

Games I saw were

SV Darmstadt 98 1-0 Entracht Braunchsweig
14 euro a ticket, 13,600 there of which about 1000 or so were away fans

Not a great game, but really old school stadium with a massive terrace down one side and two terraces behind the goals - good atmosphere too, really loud at times which I wasn't expecting. Being able to stand on a terrace with a beer and in a good atmosphere is my idea of perfect football viewing conditions.

Frankfirt 2-1 Hamburg
15 euro a ticket on the terrace behind the goal, 50,600 there 2000 or so Hamburg but there was a lot more in the home ends - no trouble at all.

Mu ch better game to watch, 2 penalties, a sending off and a decent match. Probably the best ground i've been too, it seemed huge and the noise from both sets of fans was class, never shut up. 5 euro a pint was well worth the money for the novelty of it all.

If only it was like that in England, no stewards int he ground at all really either which considering the fans were mixed, and could drink.

Frankfurt is a top city too, and Darmstadt was a lovely town too - both palces i'd go back too.

Never a pen on that opening Eintracht goal though. Harsh on Hamburg.

Nah we thought it looked soft, albeit not seen it back yet. Hamburg weren't really good I thought and can see why they've struggled for goals this season.

Ground was fantastic, weirdly laid out built could tell it was new - built for the Wc I assume?!

No queues at the tram or train stations after the game, really different to the chaos at British grounds getting away, for example went to the Etihad in December, 45 minute queues after the game for the metrolink, ended up walkinf it back into the centre.

Only done Mainz in the Frankfurt area. Was very close to work there 10 days ago. Bastards!
Shame 1860 just played at Darmstadt and I couldn't go. I'll go to Frankfurt though in May as 1860 are playing at FSV and Eintracht are hosting Hoffenheim that weekend.

Oh look at me planning football trips again...

Speaking of 1860, great result at table toppers Ingolstadt last night. A deserved draw really. Ingolstadt's opener was a flukey volley that crept in at the far post and they didn't do much else of the half. Not very impressed for a side that is supposed to be killing it in this league. Anyway, they are still top but only 4 points clear of Darmstadt and Kaiserslautern who both won on Friday. At this rate, I don't think Ingolstadt will be league leaders for much longer. Complacency seem to have settled in after being top for so long (since September 23rd 2014 exactly). Now I sincerely hope that Lautern go up but just like last season I don't think any of the club will have a chance in hell of staying up. Mind you Köln and Paderborn are having solid seasons (I do reckon Paderborn will go straight back down though).
Karlsruhe are not that far behind. God imagine Karlsruhe in the Bundesliga. One of the most small-time stadiums in the country! Good on them!

At the bottom, St Pauli are still bottom having failed to win a relegation 6-pointer against Aue (0-0 draw). They're not that far adrift but you do realise where points are going to come from. Aalen lost again at Sandhausen (0-2) which is their 7th game without a win and then you have Aue who are back in the bottom 3 after a point in 2 games. 1860 are out of it just but hey 3 games without losing. That's something.
The next side to be down there is a big surprise: Greuther Fürth! I was expecting them to be closer to promotion. They still have a nice cushion to fall back on (8 points clear of direct relegation) but still disappointing season for a side that finished 3rd last season (and an attack Aston Villa would be proud of: 3 goals in 9 games!).

Fuck it, I'll might do a round-up of the 3rd division while I'm at it. Bielefeld won their 4th game in a row and stay 9 points clear at the top. Second place are very northern (it used to be in Denmark) Holstein Kiel who are equal on points with MSV Duisburg, Preussen Münster and Rot-Weiss Erfurt! Talk about a fight to finish 2nd! Would be great to have any of those in Buli Zwei!

Mainz is now on my to-do list if I can tie it in with a return to either of Frankfurt or Darmstadt. One of the lads I went with his dad managed a band that are apparently quite big in Germany and one of his contacts watches Schalke so I think that will be done before the end of the season too.

Will be some acheivement if Darmstadt can get up to the top league having one just got up last season from Liga.3 - they must be hard to beat looking at their form, lots of draws and narrow wins so would probably struggle if they got up from what I could see of them on Friday. The ground is a must for anyone who loves a bit of old school terracing as I guess it won't be there for long should they go up.

Any idea when the final few match day schedules get announced? Trying to get another Dortmund trip in before the summer and we're looking at the Paderborn game in mid-April.

Ah I hadn't seen anything about his injury, just knew he went off. That's good.

Immobile scoring two goals is a big shock, even if it is against Dresden! Just hoping Klopp doesn't change it up in the league. If Reus is okay, the front four should stay the same (Aubameyang ahead of Reus, Kampl, Kagawa).

No surprises last night in the cup as the Buli sides beat the Buli Zwei sides. It is noteworthy that Leverkusen needed extra-time to get through though. Hoffenheim won at Aalen and Dortmund won at Dresden. Freiburg won the sole top tier confrontation against Köln 2-1.
Tonight, it's Kickers Offenbach vs Borussia Mönchengladbach! Cmon Kickers!

Stuttgarter Kickers
Offenbacher FC Kickers
Kickers Emden
Würzburger Kickers
Berliner SC Kickers

I did not know that, Mente. Danke.

Bielefeld have knocked out Bremen!

Fucking awful performance by Gladbach at Offenbach. 0-0 at half-time.

Last night's goalless draw between Stuttgart and Hertha doesn't do much for either side to be honest. Stuttgart will see it as a chance missed to push on towards getting off the bottom, while Hertha jump above Hamburg with that point.

Today, Dortmund travel to Hamburg looking to make it 5 league wins in a row. Game of the day could be at Augsburg, where they host Wolfsburg. Freiburg welcome Bremen, looking to get over the shock cup defeat in the week. Bayern travel to Hannover, which should be a win considering Munich's recent results.

Schalke host Hoffenheim, as they try to make amends for last weeks collapse in the Revierderby. Gladbach go to Mainz. Sunday sees Koln welcome Frankfurt and Leverkusen make the journey to Paderborn.

Can see wins for Leverkusen, Munich and Gladbach. Do fancy Dortmund too but that could depend on if Reus makes it.

4th defeat of the season for Wolfsburg at Augsburg. Bayern won at Hannover 2-1 which stretches the gap at the top to 11 points with 10 games to go. Bayern won't win the league in March, probably late April which is improvement from last season.
Augsburg keep up the good work in the race for 3rd/4th with that win. Schalke also won their game at home to Hoffeinheim 3-1. Gladback play at Mainz in a bit while Leverkusen travel to Paderborn tomorrow.
At the bottom, 8 games without a win for Stuttgart but avoiding defeat was important. However, check out their away fixture run-in: Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Augsburg, Schalke. They need to win their home games asap otherwise they're going down. Freiburg keep losing games and should also be going down if they don't change things fast. Reckon one of those could put Paderborn in the bottom. Maybe Stuttgart. I can see Freiburg finishing bottom.

3-1 Bayern, MM.

Dortmund and Hamburg played out a goalless draw, which won't do much for either side to be honest. Hamburg will go ahead of Hertha again.

I had the misfortune of watching the entirety of that Stuttgart - Hertha match on Friday. Dire. Can see why both teams are struggling.

DFB Pokal Quarters:

Leverkusen-Bayern
Dortmund-Hoffenheim
Bielefield-Gladbach
Wolfsburg-Freiburg

Gonna try and get tickets for that Dortmund game, assuming some will go on general sale of course.

Matchday 24 finished in the Buli Zwei last night with Karlsruhe and Leipzig playing out a 0-0 draw.
Great weekend for Ingolstadt as they convincingly won at Aue 3-0 while the rest of the top half drew. They're back to 6 points clear at the top with a better goal difference than all the others (+20 while the rest are at about +10).
At the bottom, massive win for St Pauli who won at Braunschweig 2-0 meaning that they're off the bottom for the first time in 2015. Aalen, drew while Aue and 1860 lost. The drop will certainly be contested by these 4 sides as Fürth are 6 points clear of 1860 in 14th.
